The Monarch-Chapter 718: Apolo
"Indeed, but you have excellent potential, and with some alterations, we will be able to make that happen." His potential was average in reality, but the laws he could develop were insane. However, the chances of that happening on his own were minimal.
"We only have one year of respect for the dead, and then the chaos will begin." The prince had already fully embraced Kayden's idea. He had nothing to lose. In the worst case, he would die, but…
To live without achieving absolutely anything would be the same as dying in a peaceful life. It would be useless. It would be a waste of the only chance he had. Whether he liked it or not, life was only one.
"It is enough time." Kayden smiled, and the prince began to scream in pain. His soul was being altered at an absurd speed. In seconds, Kayden made thousands of alterations. In just a few minutes, everything was ready.
It took him a few hours to recover. His soul had suffered a great alteration. His mind was completely heavy, and trying to adapt to his new being. Kayden gave a few pushes so that this would be faster, and in only 12 hours,s the prince was on his feet.
"What did you do to me?" His voice was trembling as he felt… his new world. It was as if before he had been blind, deaf, and without the capacity for touch, but now everything was different.
There was color in the world. There were sounds. There were laws everywhere. He was able to feel everything around him. Every small centimeter was being dismantled before him. In the past, his spiritual sense was like watching a video in 360p, but now it was something like 4k.
Kayden smiled. In seconds, the prince in front of him went from the seventh realm to the eighth. In the blink of an eye, he crossed that barrier as if it were absolutely nothing. What should have taken decades or centuries was done in seconds.
His talent had reached the greatest peak that had ever existed in his life. Probably, in this world, he was the most talented mage at that moment, perhaps losing only to a few souls handpicked by Kayden.
The prince kept looking at his hands without understanding what had happened. He had simply been thrown into the next realm naturally. It was almost like breathing. He did not even need to think. With every second that he recognized his new strength, his mind entered chaos.
"And now? Do you think you can compete against your brothers?" Kayden smiled aninquiredry.
"I… what did you do to me?" There was no free lunch in this world, and he knew that.
"I altered your soul completely so that you would be capable of reaching this level of talent. Now it is up to you." Kayden disappeared, leaving the mage alone.
Even though he had a great interest in this combined law, he could not simply force it. That would end up causing the birth of a completely artificial law and would not make any difference to him.
Kayden continued destroying universes as if it were nothing. Little by little, he placed his name in more places. His legend was beginning to spread at an absurd speed in the high society of the gods.
It was practically one universe per day at that moment. Kayden carefully chose what he would destroy, and in the end, he returned to the cycle without any pause. He was tireless. In the beginning, his progress was much greater. He was able to absorb far more laws, since almost all of them were practically new to him. But after some time, he had already learned an absurd number of them.
This caused his progress to visibly decrease. He needed to destroy at least seven universes to achieve the same progress as before, but… that was nothing. Seven universes were only seven days of work for Kayden. It cost him absolutely nothing.
Kayden did not fully understand what he was being guided toward, or for what exactly all this knowledge would be used. He was simply absorbing and absorbing without stopping. The law of karma and the law of chaos also grew without stopping. They seemed to be deeply tied to laws in general, almost like a perfect mixture that led to them.
Unfortunately, what he truly sought was very difficult to find. It was practically like searching for a single needle in the entire universe. Until that moment, he had not found even a single clue about his objective. But he knew it was only a matter of time. With each day, he became closer.
"You became incredibly powerful in the end." Kayden smiled as he watched Apolo manipulating the law of fire together with the law of ice as a single one. It was something extremely peculiar.
"My lord god." Apolo made a respectful bow toward Kayden. He was intelligent enough to know that he was still far below this man. Proper respect was necessary.
"It begins today, does it not?" Kayden counted the days correctly.
"Yes. We finished the funeral in the morning, and in just a few minutes,s the war between the strongest will begin." Apolo smiled. "I remained in secret during this year. As soon as it begins, I will kill them all."
Kayden raised an eyebrow at Apolo. This attitude was somewhat radical and was not exactly what he had thought in the beginning. Apolo had changed something in his thinking.
"And if an opportunity appears for otheraske it appeared for me?" Apolo began to explain. "I cannot allow that to happen. I will kill everyone who has any chance of rising to the throne."
Kayden liked the prince's new attitude. The two could not continue talking when waves of mana exploded everywhere. The war had begun. There were at least ten princes capable of the throne, and all of them were fighting at that moment.
Apolo stepped out into the world. The fortress was immense and encompassed an entire mountain. In order not to destroy parts of it, the candidates were fighting on the plateau under the eyes of the population. This was a people who would not accept kings who rose by killing as a team or who attacked another at a moment of vulnerability.
Let us say that if there were a single surviving prince from this, and another arrived who had not participated and killed him, this would cause the people not to accept this ruler. They would simply turn against him in crowds.
