The Ninth Sister is a Prodigious Beast Master-Chapter 1465 - : Mental Demon
Chapter 1465: Chapter 1465: Mental Demon
The massive procession wound its way deep into the mountains of Slaughtering Spirit Mountain, aiming to enter the Dark Demon Domain. They needed to trudge over Green Mountain. Even though Green Mountain was merely a branch of Slaughtering Spirit Mountain, it was not without its share of high-level magical beasts, as well as numerous quarrying teams from various major forces. The obstacles along the way were nearly unimaginable.
Within the group, there were hardly any able-bodied adults capable of combat; including the not yet fully grown Chen Hui, there were fewer than sixteen. The elderly, the weak, women, and children made up as many as forty-two individuals. Migrating with so many people was a colossal undertaking. Though Thunderbolt and Ling Mo were leading the way, as both magical beasts could shapeshift and Ling Mo was even a Three-Headed Hellhound with extraordinary night vision, by midnight, even they began to feel overwhelmed.
“How long must we continue this trek?” Thunderbolt looked back at the villagers with a touch of disdain. Although they were not moving fast, they were certainly trying their hardest to keep up.
“Master must lead them on this journey!” Ling Mo warned, glaring at Thunderbolt, “Do you still not understand the master’s temperament? If they fell into the hands of the Spirit Realm, and the Spirit Realm used them to threaten the master, think about it yourself. Even without the threat, if they were all slaughtered by the Spirit Realm just for being close to the master, it would be like planting a mental demon in the master’s heart.”
“The people of the Spirit Realm understand this principle, and so does the master!”
Upon hearing this, Thunderbolt nearly broke into a cold sweat. He finally understood why the master insisted on taking these burdensome villagers with them. Well, one couldn’t blame the master for slaughtering the Tiger Gang to save the villagers; if the master had been the type to leave others to die, they probably wouldn’t have respected him either, right?
The nights at Green Mountain were not peaceful. Along their way, after enduring several attacks from large pythons, they were obstructed by a pack of vicious wolves upon entering a gorge.
On either side of the gorge stood towering, steep cliffs reaching into the clouds. A rough and uneven path strewn with rocks led towards Green Mountain, stretching out to an unknown end.
Within the cliffs, wide cracks as broad as several ten meters split open, emitting gusts of chilling wind. The wind carried the foul stench of various magical beasts, hinting at the presence of numerous fierce creatures lurking within. The pack of vicious wolves had silently emerged from the first of these cracks.
The leader was a Polar Snow Wolf, its body covered in silver fur, with a triangular clump of black hair on its chest. Its large wolf eyes looked mockingly and derisively at Ling Mo and Thunderbolt, who faced off against it. It then glanced contemptuously at the villagers behind them, its frosty voice echoing between the cliffs, “To think that Sacred Beasts have stooped to becoming human lackeys, it’s a disgrace to our kind! Leave these humans behind, and as a courtesy to our shared lineage, I will spare you two magical beasts.”

These were two Sacred Beasts, and today, they were clearing the path for them. The villagers of Green Mountain Village all looked at Ling Mo and Thunderbolt with eyes full of gratitude. At the same time, they worried about their own fates. These Polar Snow Wolves were incredibly ferocious; caught in their sights, escape seemed impossible.
Ling Mo bared his teeth in a grin, his eyes darkening like the unfathomable depths of Nine Serene Waters, “It is exactly because I possess only the strength of a Sacred Beast that I am qualified to run errands and do odd jobs for my master. Do you really think that dealing with your sort requires the master’s other magical beasts to lift a finger?”
“Hahaha! How arrogant!” The Polar Snow Wolf burst into laughter, with the roughly sixty ferocious wolves behind him also joining in the mocking laughter, though none dared to raise their voices louder than their leader, the Wolf King.
