The Obsessive Tycoon Claims the Deserted Heiress-Chapter 87 - 086: Ah-Shi, I am coming back.
Chapter 87 - 086: Ah-Shi, I am coming back.
"Ah-Shi, I'm coming back." Wen Renche stood by the balcony, staring at the sunrise slowly rising in the distance, a trace of longing flickering in his eyes.
It was like someone who had been dwelling in darkness finally glimpsed the dawn.
The man's voice was gentle and intoxicating, like an aged, mellow wine that left one utterly enraptured.
Like the breeze in April, softly brushing past one's ear.
"Really? When?"
Detecting the hint of joy in her tone, Wen Renche suddenly smiled, and even the amber phoenix-shaped eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses seemed to glimmer like fireflies.
He leaned one hand against the railing, his head slightly bowed, his left cheek pressed lightly against the phone, murmuring in a low tone, "Next month, on your birthday, I'll be back."
"Have you resolved everything over there? Will it still be...?" Overjoyed, Yu Zhi still couldn't let go of her worries about him.
Originally, the two were supposed to return to the Imperial City together, but for her safety, he had sent her back in advance and hadn't contacted her for months.
Wen Renche's voice was soothing as he reassured her, "Don't worry, I've pretty much taken care of everything."
"Alright, just be careful."
"I know. How have you been recently? Have the Yu Family Members been giving you trouble?"
"..."
Wen Renche listened intently as she recounted the happenings in the Yu Family. Her cool, clear voice enabled him to vividly picture her expressions, as if she were right beside him.
After chatting for a while, he glanced at the time in the Imperial City and urged her to go have dinner, "Remember not to have too many cold drinks, or your stomach will act up again."
"I won't be able to contact you frequently in the coming days; take good care of yourself."
As the call was about to end, Wen Renche tightened his grip on the phone, a trace of reluctance flickering in his gaze. "Ah-Shi, wait for me to come back."
"Beep—beep—beep—"
The prolonged tone of the disconnected call echoed for a long while, yet he remained in the same position, not putting the phone down.
"Boss, they're coming again." It wasn't until a deep male voice sounded from behind him that Wen Renche's drifting thoughts began to reel back in.
He walked unhurriedly over to the easel, picking up the drawing that had been swept to the ground by the breeze, and gently resecured it in place.
As gunfire erupted downstairs, the man called out to him with an urgent tone again, "Boss..."
Facing the wind, Wen Renche closed his eyes, the tear-shaped mole at the corner of his eye brushing faintly against his lashes. "Deal with them all."
The corners of his lips tugged upward ever so slightly, his leisurely demeanor as if savoring the melody of a beautiful symphony.

Yu Zhi had just descended with her suitcase when someone abruptly pulled her back before she even reached the exit of the stairwell. A pair of defined, masculine hands settled around her waist.
"Zhizhi." Shi Wei wrapped her in an embrace from behind, lowering his head slightly so his chin rested on her shoulder. "Did you miss me?"
He had originally planned to pick her up from school today but had been delayed by a meeting. He thought she should already be home by now but had not expected her to come here instead. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
For a moment, he almost thought she might be moving out, deciding not to live with him anymore.
Yu Zhi placed her hand lightly on his forearm and turned her head slightly. "Why are you here?"
In the dim light of the stairwell, she could only make out the outline of his face and those captivating eyes that seemed unable to hold anyone but her.
She was lost in those eyes and didn't notice how much closer their distance had become.
"To pick you up." His gaze rested on her soft, red lips, his eyes dark and shadowy. "Zhizhi, do you miss me?"
Yu Zhi responded with a soft hum, but she was still too shy to utter the word "miss."
Shi Wei leaned in to kiss her lips, his deep, husky voice laced with an alluring rasp. "I missed Zhizhi too."
His gaze was unapologetically intense and fiery, causing her cheeks to flush with a tell-tale blush.
Afraid he might kiss her again, Yu Zhi pressed her lips together, patting his hands urgently to signal him to let go. "Not here. Someone might come."
"Does Zhizhi want to switch places?" Shi Wei's response carried a teasing upward lilt, with an alluring undertone.
He nipped at the soft skin of her cheek, his grip on her waist tightening slightly.
The sound of footsteps gradually approached from behind, and Yu Zhi's heart instantly leapt to her throat. She tilted her head back to escape his advances and struggled to pull free from his embrace.
"Hurry, someone's coming."
Yu Zhi tugged at the hem of his shirt, dragging her suitcase as they hurried away, like two people who had just committed a secretive act, dreading being caught.
As soon as they exited the stairwell, Shi Wei reached for her suitcase, a chuckle escaping his lips. "You still haven't answered my question."
Yu Zhi hesitated for a moment, the warmth of her blush still lingering on her cheeks. She lowered her gaze to their interlocked fingers, nodding subtly.
"Then where does Zhizhi want to kiss?" Shi Wei leaned down, his breath tickling her ear.
"At home." She replied softly, then looked up at him earnestly. "But only for a moment—not too long."
Every time he kissed her for too long, she felt short of breath, which made her uncomfortable.
"Alright." Shi Wei pressed his lips into a thin line to suppress the grin threatening to spread, his eyes glinting with a hint of triumph.
"Bang—"
The door shut firmly behind them, and Shi Wei immediately dropped the suitcase, wrapping his arms around her to lift her into an embrace.
He strode over to the sofa, sitting down with her cradled in his lap. One hand cupped the back of her head as he finally kissed the sweetness he'd been craving the whole way back.
His cool, thin lips pressed tenderly against hers, and a faint minty scent flooded her mouth.
"Mmm..."
Yu Zhi turned her head, gasping for air, intending to protest, but her breath was seized once more.
This back-and-forth continued for what felt like an eternity before Shi Wei finally eased back.
As he gazed at her reddened, slightly swollen lips glistening faintly, a satisfied smile curved at his lips.
Yu Zhi shot him a glare, wiping her lips agitatedly. "You promised it'd only be one kiss."
"Am I not your boyfriend?"
His seemingly unrelated question stunned Yu Zhi. After a brief moment of confusion, she nodded.
"Then, is it wrong for a boyfriend to kiss his girlfriend?" Shi Wei started playing the rogue.
He let out a soft sigh, his eyes lowering with a touch of despondency. "Or... do you not like me at all?"
His words instantly made Yu Zhi forget her earlier complaints about being kissed breathless. Flustered and at a loss, she hurried to explain, "I don't dislike you."
"Then why won't you let me kiss you?" Shi Wei's tone grew increasingly pitiful, as if deeply hurt.
"I didn't... I just..." Yu Zhi realized that the more she tried to explain, the more tangled her words became. Frustrated, she clamped her mouth shut.
Summoning her courage, she wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning in to kiss him lightly.
Seeing that he still wore a dejected look, she bit her lip and, mimicking his earlier actions, shyly kissed him once more, albeit a little clumsily.
How could Shi Wei endure her initiative? The act was too much for him. The pretense of pity immediately collapsed—he couldn't keep acting. Nor did he want to; he responded to her with his actions instead.
In the end, however, it was Shi Wei who first pulled away. His face burned red with embarrassment as he buried it into the crook of her neck. "Sorry, I... again..."
Noticing something unusual, Yu Zhi felt a wave of awkwardness wash over her. She cleared her throat lightly and asked, "Are you okay?"
