The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 82
"I came to say thank you for what you did last time."
"Did I do something worth getting thanked for?"
Kang Se-heon recalled the last time he met Seo Da-rae. He had gone to warn him not to endanger Tae-seo again. So what on earth was Seo Da-rae talking about now?
Seo Da-rae's eyes wavered, startled by Kang Se-heon's complete lack of memory. Then, as if something occurred to him, he slowly nodded.
"They say that words that might seem like nothing to one person can be great comfort to another. I guess that was true for me."
As Seo Da-rae murmured as though in realization, Kang Se-heon's gaze scanned his face. He didn’t seem like he was lying—but what on earth did he say that could’ve comforted him?
"It's okay if you don't remember. I... remember it."
Seo Da-rae erased any sign of disappointment and smiled.

"If you’re done, I’ll be going now..."
Kang Se-heon couldn’t fully focus on him because his phone had been buzzing nonstop. It was probably his secretary calling since he hadn’t shown up yet. He hesitated, wondering whether to pull out his phone or send Seo Da-rae away first.
"I'm sorry for bothering you when you're busy. I won’t keep you long."
"Go ahead."
At Seo Da-rae’s words, Kang Se-heon decided to postpone the phone call for now. He slipped his hand into his pocket and silenced the vibration. Now that he had shown he was ready to listen, Seo Da-rae couldn’t stop fidgeting with his hands.
"I know it’s sudden, but since you're busy, I shouldn’t take up too much of your time, so I’ll be direct. I’ve been trying really hard all this time. And there were Alphas who praised me for that effort."
He gripped his hands tightly, cautiously revealing the frustration he had kept buried inside. He had always been someone who endured well on his own, but after breaking down because of Kang In-hyuk, he had wanted someone to comfort him. Even if that comfort came from pity, as long as it gave him the strength to keep going, he didn’t care.
"Those Alphas liked my face or my pheromones. It was exhausting because I knew their compliments didn’t come from a genuine place. And that’s not all. I even got hated by people who said I seduced those Alphas."
A trace of resentment flickered across Seo Da-rae’s face. It passed so quickly it could have been missed, but Kang Se-heon, who had been watching him the whole time, caught it. Seo Da-rae let out a long sigh as if releasing all those tangled emotions, then looked up at Kang Se-heon with a lighter expression.
"But you, Executive Vice President, weren’t like that at all. I was really grateful for that and wanted to thank you."
"If that’s all, I don’t think I did anything worth being thanked for."
Kang Se-heon spoke, wondering how things had ended up with this kind of conversation.
"I wasn’t drawn to your looks, and I’m not interested in your pheromones. That’s why. But I’m not so different from other Alphas. When I want someone, I compliment them—again and again."
What kind of compliments had he given Tae-seo again? He told him he ate well, that he slept well, maybe even that he played well by himself?
"When someone I like eats well, they just look so damn adorable I can’t help but say something."
In his head, Kang Se-heon was already picturing Tae-seo, plump and round, rolling around. The thought alone was so cute it made him smile without realizing.
"Whether it’s your looks or your pheromones, you must have something good about you. Whether you like that or not is your call. But I’m not all that different from those Alphas."
"Ah..."
Seo Da-rae had expected Kang Se-heon to say something like, Because I’m exceptional. Instead, his answer was so unexpected that his mind went blank, and he forgot what he was going to say.
"Before being an Alpha, I’m just someone who loves someone. There’s no need to make it a big deal. Are you done?"
As Kang Seheon spoke, Seo Da-rae bowed his head deeply. He had said it all without emotion, but Seo Da-rae’s face flushed with heat.
He had come to him because he was ★ 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ hurting. He just wanted a bit of comfort—but he ended up getting more than that. It wasn't just soothing—it had ignited something in him.
I want to be this Alpha’s Omega.
Even with just one offhanded remark, Kang Se-heon managed to comfort him.
Was this what Yoon Tae-seo felt?
When Kang In-hyuk started showing interest in him, was Yoon Tae-seo tormenting him because he was driven by a sense of lack? Jealousy toward Tae-seo started creeping up on him again, gnawing away at his chest. Unable to think of anything else to say in this state, Seo Da-rae turned to leave—when someone caught his eye.
Yoon... Tae-seo?
Seo Da-rae’s eyes darted rapidly. Now wasn’t the time to wonder why Yoon Tae-seo was here. This was Kang Se-heon’s company. If anything, he was the one who didn’t belong.
Anyway, Tae-seo hadn’t noticed him yet and was approaching. If he could use this situation well, maybe he could make Kang Se-heon his Alpha.
"Um... would it be okay if I smelled your pheromone just once?"
"No."
The sharp rejection stunned Seo Da-rae, and his eyes flicked back and forth nervously.
"My pheromone’s expensive. Some people think it’s perfume and ask where I got it. But it’s not something I spray for others to sniff. Don’t even think about offering money."
Though Kang Se-heon said it indifferently, the meaning was clearly a rejection. But somehow, Seo Da-rae almost felt like laughing. The rejection didn’t sting at all.
"Then I’ll just track the leftover scent myself."
"Is there a reason you need to do that?"
Kang Se-heon sounded unconvinced.
"Please, just stay still."
Taking the movement of Kang Se-heon’s thick eyebrows as permission, Seo Da-rae reached out his hands. He was trying to catch the faint traces of pheromones lingering around his neck. Since Kang Se-heon didn’t lower his head, Seo Da-rae had no choice but to reach up and cling to him. Honestly, the pheromones were just an excuse. What he really wanted was for Yoon Tae-seo to see Kang Se-heon acting affectionately toward him.
Just that thought alone almost made him smile, so he bit down on his lower lip to stop himself. And just as he was about to place his hands on Se-heon’s body—
"Don't."
The moment Seo Da-rae froze, Kang Se-heon slightly pulled his head back. Just that alone made him seem taller, and Seo Da-rae couldn’t hide his startled expression.
"It's not that there's some other meaning to it..."
"Doesn’t matter what the meaning is. No."
There was such a stark refusal in the way Kang Se-heon looked down at him that Seo Da-rae felt something rise up in his chest.
"I saw a video about you recently, Executive Vice President. A lot of people praised how flexible and adaptable you are at work. I didn’t expect you to be so rigid like this."
"In love, there's no such thing as flexibility. I can’t allow anyone who isn’t Tae-seo to touch me."
He was putting up a wall—and a solid one at that. Seo Da-rae froze with his awkwardly outstretched arms, completely forgetting his plan to come off affectionate in front of Yoon Tae-seo. Now he didn’t even know how to back out of the situation.
"Don’t."
A voice cut in suddenly, and Seo Da-rae flinched in shock, while Kang Se-heon immediately broke into a smile. Seeing Tae-seo charging toward them, clearly upset and fuming, Seo Da-rae quietly lowered his hands. Even though he hadn’t actually touched Kang Se-heon’s neck, maybe it looked suggestive enough to cause a misunderstanding.
Tae-seo closed the distance quickly and wedged himself between them. Kang Se-heon’s gaze, fixed on Tae-seo, brimmed with curiosity. Just like that time he had barged in during the matchmaking date with Jung Hae-jin and completely stole the scene—he was curious to see what Tae-seo would do this time.
But unlike his expectations, Tae-seo remained still. As if he had never been worked up to begin with, he caught his breath and said nothing. The normally fiery Tae-seo being this quiet began to change Kang Se-heon’s expression little by little.
"Why aren’t you saying anything? Are you feeling sick?"
Kang Se-heon pulled Tae-seo by the shoulder to face him. And the moment their eyes met, Kang Se-heon's expression stiffened at the sight of Tae-seo's serious face.
Meanwhile, Tae-seo, having jumped into the scene, was desperately trying to calm the boiling inside of him. He had successfully separated Seo Da-rae from Se-heon—but had no idea what to do next. Should he just explode the way he usually did? But this was Kang Se-heon's workplace. Acting all nonchalant didn’t come naturally either.
Of all people, why Seo Da-rae?
He had hoped that whatever history they had would end exactly where it ended. Kang In-hyuk had confessed to liking him, and Seo Da-rae was reaching out toward Kang Se-heon. He couldn’t understand how things had gotten so tangled, and it filled him with a sense of dread. His mood was sinking fast.
And then, suddenly, his feet left the ground.
Tae-seo's eyes widened in shock. The moment he realized Kang Se-heon had lifted him into his arms, he instinctively started kicking in protest.
"Let’s go to the hospital."
"Huh? Why the hospital—?"
"If there’s even the slightest pain, we go to the hospital. No questions."
As Kang Se-heon turned and walked off with him, Tae-seo locked eyes with Seo Da-rae, who looked just as shocked. Both of them were so caught off guard they couldn’t even speak.
"Cancel everything."
Kang Se-heon instructed his secretary, who had come down looking for him, to clear his schedule, then carried Tae-seo down to the underground parking garage. Once they were in the waiting car, Tae-seo finally seemed to come to his senses, his eyes regaining focus.
"I'm not sick."
"I know."
"Then why are we going to the hospital...?"
"Because it felt like we should."
Kang Se-heon brushed his hand across Tae-seo's face. His expression had been surprised, but there was no sweat, and his skin wasn’t cold. Only after touching him directly did Kang Se-heon confirm that Tae-seo really was okay.
"Now tell me. What’s going on?"
"...Because he smiled at Seo Da-rae."
