The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend-Chapter 643 - Proclamation of Death
Defier was the gift that Alpheus had bestowed upon Han Wu. Among the Great Dragons, it was the highest symbol of honor. Among their kind, strength and prestige were inseparable. Otherwise, they would be deemed snacks.
To Deathwing, Han Wu was nothing more than a morsel. He was only a World life form, yet he carried the title of Defier. To the Great Dragons, that alone was an affront.
Deathwing’s gaze burned with greed. “I don’t care who you are or how you obtained that title. You stand before the powerful king of the Deathlords, Deathwing. Become my meal. Don’t resist, and I will grant you a painless death.”
Deathwing intended to devour Han Wu, claim the title of Defier, and become the Great Dragon with the highest prestige.
Han Wu chuckled at its threat. “What if I don’t?”
“Ants like you have no right to negotiate with me. You are weak, and you will become my food!” Deathwing stated.
Han Wu almost laughed. He stepped forward and activated Demon King Transformation. Now that his powers had fully unlocked, his transformation had returned to normal. He reached a height of 10,000 meters and exuded a crushing aura that clashed with Deathwing’s Dragon Fear.
Still, Deathwing didn’t believe that it would lose to Han Wu. It opened its jaws and prepared to unleash its breath.
Han Wu activated his Black Dragon King Transformation and released his Great Dragon Ring. The combined force amplified his Dragon Fear until it tore through the surrounding space like a typhoon. Below them, the Origin of Mutation and the others almost lost their footing.
Deathwing finally felt the bloodline suppression. Even though both were Great Dragons, Deathwing was only the Deathlords’ king. However, Han Wu was the Black Dragon King, sovereign of black dragons. In bloodline hierarchy, Deathwing stood beneath him. Moreover, Han Wu bore the Great Dragons’ title of Defier. By that authority, Deathwing had no choice but to bow to him.
Under the weight of Han Wu’s Dragon Fear, Deathwing started to tremble. The superior bloodline’s suppression made it hard for it to control its own body.
Han Wu looked down and rested his sharp claws gently on Deathwing’s head. “Am I the food that you spoke of? It seems that you’ve been rather disrespectful.”
Deathwing tried to explain. “I didn’t. I just—”
Han Wu didn’t give it a chance to finish and crushed its head. Deathwing’s death scattered the death aura enveloping it, so Han Wu seized the moment and absorbed some of it. Naturally, his Death Aspect rose at once.
Moments later, Deathwing revived. Although Han Wu had killed it once, it didn’t bow this time. Instead, it fought back. “I worship Karl of Pluto. My God granted me an undying physique. You cannot kill me.”
“Is that so?” Han Wu killed it again and absorbed more death aura.
Soon, Deathwing revived again and shouted. “I cannot die!”
Han Wu continued the cycle, killing it each time it revived. After many repetitions, Deathwing suddenly realized that something had changed with its frame. The death aura it once contained was steadily dissipating. When the last trace vanished, it would no longer be able to revive itself!
“You?” Deathwing blurted. “You have been plundering my death aura?”
“Correct, but there’s no reward for guessing right.” Han Wu chuckled and killed it again.
Deathwing revived once more, but its hostility had vanished. It lowered its head and pleaded, “I was wrong. Glorious Defier, please forgive me...”
“You should seek Karl’s forgiveness. My task is to send you to him!” Han Wu ended its life numerous times.
The spectacle dragged on so long that the Origin of Mutation and the others grew bored. When Han Wu absorbed the final trace of death aura, Deathwing failed to revive, and Han Wu returned to his normal form. He had reached Level 99, the highest level possible, and had unlocked most of his Skills. Just standing there was enough to intimidate the others.
The moment he resumed his human form, Han Wu used Stellar Plunder on Deathwing’s corpse. With the Machine God’s aid, he completed every step in one second. A strange energy flowed from his hands and penetrated Deathwing’s corpse.
When the energy returned, it brought back dozens of Microcosms shrouded in deathly silence. One was noticeably larger than the rest. Han Wu’s gut told him that it was Deathwing’s original Microcosm.
He drew the Microcosms into his consciousness and had an epiphany. At the same time, his Death Aspect grew more powerful, while his World Ring suddenly manifested without command.
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, his Divine Ring turned into the Death Ring composed of pure death aura. Under its effects, Han Wu had a brand new understanding of his Death Aspect and gained a brand new Skill unique to it: Proclamation of Death. In the simplest terms, he could kill someone with a word. One utterance was enough.
Back when Death had intervened to stop the Thirteen Guards from attacking Imperial College, he had used this Skill to slay two World rank guards with ease.
Now Han Wu possessed the same Skill. However, at his current energy level, he could use it once to kill one World life form, or he could command several weaker foes to die.
Proclamation of Death reminded him of the Skull Guillotine that he had made while still learning the Death Aspect’s intricacies. The Skull Guillotine selected random enemies, and its success rate had never been high. By contrast, Proclamation of Death carried a 100% chance of success. It could be called Skull Guillotine’s upgrade, and he was looking forward to enhancing it further.
Once Han Wu declared that he no longer needed the corpse, the Origin of Mutation began dismantling it. A Great Dragon’s corpse was a trove of treasures. Even its flesh and blood could nurture units and increase their potential.
While dissecting it, the Origin of Mutation found a mysterious black orb embedded within the corpse. It didn’t recognize the object. Xu Hai and Commerce examined it. Despite their vast knowledge and experience, neither could identify it.
Han Wu took the orb. The moment his fingers brushed its surface, his consciousness pierced through numerous dimensions. In the next moment, he stood above an endless expanse of black sea.
A figure cloaked in black robes faced him across the dark waters. “Interesting. To think someone from the Divine Civilization could kill Deathwing. Since you’ve done so, you will take its place.”
A black mark suddenly seared itself into his flesh, and he jolted awake. He quickly checked the spot where the mark had appeared in the strange vision. As expected, a black mark like a planet had appeared there.
The Origin of Mutation stared at it in disbelief. “Vessel, you’ve caught Karl’s attention!”
