The Pregnant Treasured Little Wife: Master Lancaster's Nightly Coaxing-Chapter 147: Leave Quickly
Willow Scott lowered her head, "My... my boyfriend’s money, he bought it for me."
She clearly remembered Young Master Lancaster’s warning not to mention that night’s events, or she’d face dire consequences.
But that night, Young Master Lancaster hadn’t even touched her; she had deceived him to get this money. If he found out, and if she angered him again, she feared...
"So, you found a wealthy boyfriend, and now you don’t need to work?"
Serena Keaton asked coldly.
Willow Scott dared not look up at her. "Sorry, Miss Keaton, I left because I felt unsuited for the job. If you don’t mind, I’ll take my leave now."
She needed to leave immediately.
If Elias Lancaster found her, she’d be in trouble.
"There are always higher mountains, stay humble."
"Miss Keaton is right, I’ll remember that."
For some reason, whenever she faced Serena Keaton, Willow Scott couldn’t meet her gaze.
Serena Keaton watched her retreating figure, filled with some doubt.
Willow Scott hurriedly walked away.
She knew what those people thought of her; they just looked down on her.
She didn’t mind; she just needed to leave quickly.
As Willow Scott left, Nathan Sawyer gave Serena Keaton a thumbs up, "My Serena is so imposing!"
She didn’t want Serena to be unhappy; otherwise, she wouldn’t be so accommodating.
Serena Keaton laughed, "It’s Elias who gives me courage."
She glanced at the sales assistants, "Do your manager know how you treat customers like this?"
The sales assistants didn’t know Serena Keaton’s identity, but they dared not act brazenly after her words.
"Sorry, it was our fault, may I ask you..."
"Do you even deserve to know? Pack these two clothes and charge them."
Nathan Sawyer handed over Elias Lancaster’s black card.
Seeing it was the boss’s exclusive black card, the sales assistants quickly accepted it respectfully.
"Sorry, it was our fault, please be generous and forgive us, Miss."
"If I see this again, you won’t work here any longer."
Serena Keaton straightened her posture.
The sales assistants nodded in unison, "Miss, don’t worry, it won’t happen again."
After swiping the card, Serena Keaton wore the dress, holding Nathan Sawyer’s hand as they left.
The sales assistants stood at the door, "Ladies, take care."
A little further away, Serena Keaton finally relaxed, "Nathan, how did I do? Didn’t I show any fear?"
"Great, I never knew my Serena had such a commanding presence."
She never would have expected it.
Nathan Sawyer had always thought Serena Keaton was gentle.
But she was decisive in handling matters just now, truly impressive.
"In this world, only Elias can bully me, no one else."
Serena Keaton laughed.
Nathan Sawyer looked at her puzzled, "Why can he bully you?"
"Because of love, sometimes you have to let him have his way."
"Haha..."
Nathan Sawyer laughed heartily, "The way you put it, it sounds like Master Lancaster is henpecked."
Serena Keaton didn’t say anything, holding Nathan Sawyer’s hand as they continued strolling.
When they got tired, they’d watch a movie, drink bubble tea.
By the time Serena Keaton returned home, it was already past eight in the evening.
As soon as she entered, she saw the man sitting on the sofa in the living room.
She walked over with her things, "Elias."
Elias Lancaster looked up at her, "You’re back."
"Yeah, I bought you clothes and a tie."
Serena Keaton said as she took the clothes out of the bag and handed them to the man.
Elias Lancaster glanced at them, "You have great taste, baby, I like them."
He raised his hand to pull her to sit beside him, lifting her feet onto his lap, removing her shoes. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
He began massaging her feet.
"Tired?"
Serena Keaton shook her head, "Not really, we even had hot pot, watched a movie, and drank bubble tea."
Suddenly, she remembered something.
"Elias, that maid Nanny Livingston hired some time ago, called Willow Scott, she’s not working in the kitchen anymore, did you know?"
She needed to clarify the situation, in case anything came up later, she couldn’t explain.
After all, she was practically terminating her employment.
As soon as he heard Willow Scott’s name, Elias Lancaster’s expression changed, but he quickly returned to normal.
He lowered his gaze and responded.
Serena Keaton continued.
"As long as you know. I think Nanny Livingston can manage now, and I can help at home too."
Elias Lancaster, "..."
He still couldn’t forget what happened that day.
He put down Serena’s feet, "I need to use the bathroom."
"Okay."
Serena Keaton watched his back, not thinking too deeply about it.
At night, the two lay in bed, Elias Lancaster holding her.
"Serena..."
"Elias..."
They spoke simultaneously.
Serena Keaton said, "Elias, you go first."
"No worries, you first."
"I feel like you have something on your mind, you’re not happy."
Elias Lancaster spoke in a deep voice, "It’s nothing, just that I have to go on a business trip for a few days."
Serena Keaton had a nonchalant expression, "You’ve been on business trips before, I wouldn’t stop you."
"If you miss the kids, go to The Lancaster Family, call me if anything comes up."
"Okay."
Serena Keaton thought that they had reconciled, and she would strive to be a good Mrs. Lancaster, to be a good wife.
Elias Lancaster felt uncomfortable the moment he entered this house, his heart heavy with unease.
He released Serena Keaton, no longer holding her.
"Baby, let’s move to another house, choose one close to your school and studio."
Serena Keaton was puzzled.
"It’s great here, close to your company, my school, and studio. Besides, Dad and Mom are moving too; they’ll soon be living next door because of me."
"I’ll buy them a place over there too."
"Why? Elias, you’re acting strange, changing rooms, moving homes, why?"
Serena Keaton didn’t understand what was going on with the man beside her.
Her intuition told her something was off.
Seeing him looking at her, Elias Lancaster couldn’t stay, "You sleep first, I have a meeting."
"How come your work has gotten so busy lately?"
Serena Keaton’s voice was heavy.
He wasn’t like this before.
As soon as they got into bed, he would hold her tightly.
But just now...
"The company has a lot going on, it’s quite busy, you sleep first."
Elias Lancaster didn’t dare look at her as he walked out of the room.
Seeing him like that, Serena Keaton’s eyes welled up.
She didn’t want to hold up his work, watching as he left the room.
Lying alone in bed, she began to overthink.
She didn’t even know when she fell asleep.
When she woke up the next day, there was no one beside her.
Feeling a bit disappointed, she checked the time, six o’clock.
Had he gotten up already?
Without thinking much, Serena Keaton freshened up and went downstairs, finding Elias Lancaster already sitting in the dining room. She walked over and sat down.
"Elias, what time did you get up?"
Serena Keaton asked.
"Just a while ago." Elias Lancaster said, glancing at his phone, "I’m off on a business trip in a bit, might take a few days, take care of yourself."
"Got it."
Serena Keaton nodded, "What time did you come back to the room last night? It felt like you never returned."
