The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 73: Small Talk With the Princess
Chapter 73: Small Talk With the Princess
Everything had been going well...
Although the girls had caused a little problem after destroying the sentry, Wise had no problem with it. After all, he got to relax on the oddly comfortable prison bench while the girls did the work for once.
Daphne and Aofie were going to rent the house while Esme and Freya left to use their connections to get him out.
That was the plan, and yet, how did it turn into this?
’I might have gotten a bit too impulsive.’ Wise thought, staring at the knight he had suffocated half way.
"You can never break out of that cage!" Those were the words that started this.
He had done just that, he ripped the cage apart, and the knight all rushed him when it was their idea in the first place.
’Cowards...’
Wise glanced at the girl who had rushed into the room and frowned in confusion.
She was dressed in a way befitting royalty, her clothes made up of the finest fabric, but for whatever reason, she had a large battle hammer in her hands.
Wise dropped the man, his armour clanging as it crashed against the floor.
She stared at the damage before returning her eyes to him. "It looks like I’m a little late, Wise?"
Wise cocked a brow. "In the flesh, and you are?"
Before the woman could speak, an old man accompanied by Esme and Freya, rushed into the room, looking rather shocked by the mess.
’Esme? Does that mean this was the contact she said she had?’
"Princess Mira?"
The princess curtsied and walked forward, hopping over one of the soldiers who was moaning on the floor.
When she got close to Wise, she offered him her hand and Wise took it in his, shaking her lightly.
Unlike most girls, Mira’s hand felt calloused and tough. It was like a warrior’s palms.
He noted it but gave no outward reaction. "It’s a pleasure to meet such a dignified figure."
Wise had thought she would simply give them a letter to instruct his release. There was no reason for her to come here, which only meant one thing...
She was curious about him.
The princess smiled. "You’ve made quite a mess of my station, and my sentry is all dust and rubble. Shouldn’t I be punishing you?"
Wise smiled. "Well, you could try, but I don’t think you came all this way because of that."
He let go of her hand but kept his eyes on her. "How can I help you, Princess?"
Mira took a step back, waving the hammer in the air like it weighed nothing more than paper.
"No need to rush. Why don’t you come over to the castle next week? We can have a proper discussion then."
Wise brought his hand to his chin. ’The royal castle? Does she plan on imprisoning me because I took Esme?’
He doubted that it was the case, if she truly wanted him imprisoned, there were better ways to go about it.
"I’ll see if I have time."
Mira turned around as though she was searching for something, and then her eyes landed on a man not too far from her.
She walked up to him and kicked him in the shin."Wake up you oaf!"
"Huh?" The man said sheepishly, his eyes opened.
"This man is now free, take his name off the register."
His eyes slowly moved around before resting on Wise.
"But princess! He is a—ahh,"
The man was about to complain when the princess placed her large hammer on his stomach.
"A-alright, alright!" He screamed, gasping for breath just before Mira took off the hammer.
She turned to Wise and smiled innocently. "I guess I’ll see you in a week. Have fun in an unlit city and don’t fail to contact me if you need anything."
"Oh, and the wrongful analysis is because it was an older model. I have since fixed that glitch, the last time one of you know what arrived in the city."
"I’ll make sure to adjust the older ones as well."
Wise nodded. "Thank you."
’A little goodwill to strengthen our relationship.’ Mira thought as she began leaving.
She hugged Esme and gave Freya a handshake. "I hope to see you all in a week as well! I would have loved to spend more time with you, but work calls..."
Esme smiled at her friend, waving at her as she was about to leave. "Take care of yourself Mira, you don’t exactly look too great."
"Yeah yeah, I’ll try to sleep a bit more."
"Thank you for your help princess," Freya added.
Mira nodded in agreement, glanced once more at the room, taking note of the carnage Wise had caused then smiled.
’I can work with this...’
’Wise, how useful will you be to me in the coming days?’ fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"I’m surprised she let us go," Wise muttered as they made their way down the street.
The princess was quite an amusing person. Although she had clearly arrived with ulterior motives, he had not managed to decipher any one of them.
Not only that, she managed to leave him curious about their next meeting.
What was she going to ask?
Since their arrival at the city was interrupted so abruptly, Wise decided to slow down his step and truly take in the cityscape.
"Daphne and Aofie should be at the other side of the city, since they are handling our accommodation, let’s get to the post office."
He had been in the same pair of clothes since the battle with the queen. He needed a change, and he needed one immediately.
The girls seemed to share the sentiment because they hurried along with him, the three of them trying to find their way around the new city.
Eventually, after much asking for directions, they arrived at the city’s post office. It was a small building with a large compound where carriages could be packed.
When they walked into the room, Wise went straight to the counter and pulled out a piece of paper. This paper was the collection ticket Daphne had been given at the Teasei post office.
The postman on duty observed the paper for a moment. "I’ll be back in a minute."
He then walked through a door labelled ’Employees only,’ his figure disappearing as he pushed the door closed.
Wise relaxed on the counter and began to impatiently tap the polished wooden surface, when his ears picked up some chatter.
By the side of the room were two imperial knights in their full getup. Silver knight armour with a blue crest that resembled three rings.
Although they were speaking to themselves in hushed tones, Wise could easily pick out what they were saying with his heightened senses.
"How many now?" The first man, the taller of the two, asked in a gruff voice.
The knight he spoke to glanced to the side, to make sure they weren’t being overheard, before speaking. "Six..."
"Shit. And no leads?"
"Nothing at all, all we know is that the primary targets are adventurers. All six of them that went missing were from the guild."
The knight sighed. "And the guild?"
"They are taking measures, for now only parties are allowed to go on quests, and tabs are being put on their members—" The shorter man replied.
One of the workers then arrived with a sealed box and handed it to the knight, ending their conversation abruptly.
The tall knight took the box, glancing at Wise’s group before leaving the post office.
’Missing adventurers...’
Adventurer’s were powerful, not the kind or people that would be easily subjugated.
Who would go out of their way to take them?
Maybe someone who needed strong individuals, but why?
A memory suddenly flashed in Wise’s mind, one that caused him to wince.
He remembered how Rosalind’s body had crumbled under pressure, her build too weak to sustain the demonic transformation.
Wise slowly shook his head.
’I’m overthinking things...’
Still, even if this was not connected. It was still a rather peculiar case.
They would have to be careful, not for him but for the sake of the girls.
