The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 380: A mated female - I
"Where," I spoke again, gathering that attention, "is the king?"
Marilyn hesitated which made me look at Irene. Would she tell or would she be hesitant too?
"The King is.. um," she paused for a small minute, "away."
I narrowed my eyes. Obviously, he was away. But where was he? What was the last told whereabouts from him?
"Marilyn, please." I was tired and ready to sleep again, but I still wanted to know where Tristan was. It was a different thing if no one knew, but they did and they were not telling me.
Marilyn answered, "he is away from you."
Again, that was not what I wanted to hear but it had made me curious. "Why?" I asked. Marking me was an attempt to keep me closer to him so I had Tristan willingly gone away from me? It did not make enough sense to me.
"Because the scent of your blood and his made the king a little.." she narrowed her eyes as she searched for the right word, "made the king a little out of control."
She continued, "because of which it was decided that the best course of action was to take him away and let you rest."
I frowned. "Out of control?"
"Yes," she quickly jumped in, "I mean, I want you to stay as close as he got to you. He did not bite you or attack you or anything like that. She just really needed to be close to you."
"I see." It was fine then. Because I was not attacked or anything. He just wanted to be close and as long as Tristan did not hurt me, I was alright.
I hoped.
"When is he coming back?"
"I do not know that. He left early in the night and I was not told where he went." She sighed. "Would you like to talk to Chiara?"
Chiara; I remembered her.
Chiara was one of the women I saw and the other one then became her sister.
Tristan’s mother.

Nandia, another one of my maids, poured hot water over my shoulders before going to pick a cloth and rub my skin with it.
Nandia was unmated. She looked relatively young as well. She did not have the maturity in her eyes like Irene did.
I had a whole group of people that were under the leadership of Irene who was in the room with Nandia. Apart from them, Marylin was the only one.
It seemed like Irene had been able to grasp the concept that I did not want to meet a lot of people. When Marilyn has asked me the question of meeting Tristan and, my expressions must have given me my answer.
Though, I had answered her question. I needed a bath first.
The smell coming from me even bothered me not to mention what would have happened to their vampire noses. I wondered how they had been standing next to me for so long.
A bath with good smelling oils was extremely necessary to me. I smelt bad and I hated that.
"Why would you not tell me I smelled bad?" Agitated, I questioned Marilyn. " You should have told me. I wondered how are you stayed in the same room."
Marilyn shook her head. "Smelling, bad or not, was on the list of my concerns. I have to make sure that he remained alive—"
"What?" I frowned. Remained a life? Was I going to die?
Marilyn panicked and exchanged a look with Irene who gave her a resigned look.
"What?" I don’t to Irene. What was going on in between the two of them? How and when did they become as thick as thieves?
"We don’t talk about it a lot because it does not happen very frequently. It’s quite rare so we do not discuss it." Irene explained.
"Sometimes, humans that have less blood in them have the risk of dying. It’s happened in just a month of times that we can count on our hands. Most of them live and get turned eventually. The ailment that they might have also gets killed with the vampire blood in them."
"Vampire blood in them? Do I have vampire blood in me?" I did not know that. All I need was Tristan marking me, there was no exchange of blood mentioned anywhere to me.
Irene made an uncomfortable gesture. "Yes, it makes the bite heal quickly."
"Ah, yes. I remember that." That was what I was given when Marilyn and then Tristan had bit me. That was what I have been told. Which had actually made the mark go away and I was awake the very next day. So, I did not make sense why I took seven days to heal from this bite.
With the presence of everyone around me, I decided to not go and ask the question. Some of that I wanted Irene to answer when we were alone. Not even Marilyn because she seemed to be hesitating more than anyone.
Irene met my eyes across the bad that I was in. She seems to have got on to what I was thinking and gave
me a very discreet nod of her head. She had thought of it too.
Nandia rubbed my body with a cloth twice before rinsing my body off. I was then wrapped around and ethical cloth that was going to try on my body before I moved behind the half wall and got dressed with the help of Irene.
I looked at Merilyn when I came back, half dressed in chemise and skirts. " This is going to take some time. I have to become more presentable, if I am to meet people, would you like to go back to Allen?"
Her eyes visibility brightened, but she stayed quiet. "I want to be here with you."
"You have been with me." I reassured her. "You have to take a break from me and come back just as quickly as you can and without anyone. I would just like to be in your company before anyone else comes in."
It had been easier to dismiss anyone when they were just under my employment, but now Marilyn is just a friend, I have been in my life for the longest time. Politely dismissing her was not an option, I just had to find the right words that are not offend her.
"Alright," she stood up and smiled brightly, " you won’t even miss me because I will be back soon."
