The Prodigies War-Chapter 2122: Fiend Spirits at the Emperor Stage
Rumble!
Murderous intent surged across the world like a tidal wave, plunging it into chaos. In that instant, the already tense and stifling atmosphere grew unbearably heavy.
Lin Xun frowned as a sharp, tingling pain prickled across his skin. His years of battle experience allowed him to immediately sense that a tide of bloodshed was closing in.
In this critical moment, the fighting spirit that had laid dormant within him started to awaken, and the power flowing through his body roared to life as his blood pulsed with fierce determination.
This was the first time he felt pressure and a desire to fight since coming to the Dark Hidden Purgatory.
At his cultivation level, though he was not quite as lonely as snow, ordinary cultivators no longer caught his interest.
For example, Meng Xingzi, the man in green and the ancient giant crocodile...none of them were weak, but to Lin Xun, they were not worth mentioning at all.
Now, it was different!

He came to the Dark Hidden Purgatory to hone his skills, seek an opportunity to attain the dao, and embark on the path to becoming an Emperor!
It would be boring if he encountered no obstacles or threats.
Behind Lin Xun, a drop of striking red blood quietly condensed in the void. The blood pearl throbbed and within it, an eerily vibrant green eye suddenly sprang open and silently fixed its gaze on Lin Xun’s back.
Shua!
A ray of gray-white light shot out from the eye, corroding the air in its path and leaving behind a straight, jet-black scar.
It was as if the void had been scorched.
Its speed was so fast that it arrived in a flash.
Pu!
With a muffled noise, Lin Xun was struck.
Within the blood pearl, an eerie green eye gleamed with a hint of delight. The ray of light, called the Light of Annihilation, had the power to corrode all it touched, staining the essence of life and obliterating its presence.
The Light of Annihilation was a sinister power that could only be grasped by Emperors.
However, the next moment, the hint of joy faded from the green eye.
Lin Xun’s figure had disappeared like a popped bubble.
This is bad!
The drop of blood realized that something was wrong and was about to dart away when a huge bronze seal crashed down.
Dao Lifeless Seal!
Bang!
The blood pearl along with the eerie green eye instantly exploded into blood-colored dust.
In the distant darkness, a sharp piercing scream tore through the sky, only to fall silently as abruptly as it had begun.
Lin Xun appeared out of nowhere, withdrawing the Dao Lifeless Seal.
Over the years, as his skills and strength improved, he tapped into the full potential of the Emperor weapons of Kunlun, wielding them with great mastery. Ř𝖆Νο𝐛Ë𝐬
It allowed him to better understand and admire the incredible power of the Kunlun Emperor weapons. Each one held a different magnificent ability far superior to that of ordinary Emperor-grade treasures.
For example, the Dao Lifeless Seal controlled Emperor Dao laws. Its boundless destructive powers were capable of shattering the sky and annihilating the universe.
For example, the Dao Lawless Blade disregarded all laws in the world, including laws of the Emperor Stage.
This disregard was neither about resisting nor countering, but treating all as nothing, not affected by even a single leaf!
Given Lin Xun’s current strength, he could wield the Kunlun Emperor weapons with ease, but he was still far from fully unleashing their ultimate power.
This would hold true unless he attained the dao and became a true Emperor!
Without thinking too much, he continued onwards.
The world was shrouded in a dark, foreboding atmosphere, with underlying turmoil swirling about. Tides of murderous intent raged like a storm, howling and whistling like the cries of ghosts and demons.
The faint whispers sounded again.
“That kid is tricky to deal with…”
“In my original memory, the treasure he holds feels very familiar. Just looking at it from this distance already sends shivers down my spine.”
“There’s nothing to worry about that boy, but the treasure in his hand is full of threat!”
“Haha, threat? To me, it’s more of an opportunity. Whoever gets their hands on the treasure in that boy’s hand may perhaps…dominate this world?”
These conversations were clear and unhidden and reached Lin Xun’s ears directly, leading him to come to a conclusion in his mind.
In the sixth level of the Dark Hidden Purgatory were many fiend spirits with intelligence, and they all possessed strength equivalent to the Emperor Stage.
Otherwise, they would never dare to underestimate and look down on him, a third-level supreme quasi-Emperor!
Fiend spirits that possessed consciousness and intelligence, and were also scheming and strategic were no doubt the most terrifying and the most difficult to deal with.
Other fiend spirits would have charged at him the moment they saw him.
Buzz!
Suddenly, the void rippled violently as a figure condensed and emerged. It was a hunched old man resting on a purple bamboo staff.
His hair was sparse, his skin was covered with scars like fish scales, and his eyes glowed an eerie red light. He looked like a terrifying old ghost that had crawled out of hell.
“Hand over the treasure in your hand, and I will let you go. Otherwise, the thirty-nine fellow cultivators here will tear you apart and eat you alive.” The old man spoke in a hoarse voice, like a venomous snake flicking its tongue, sending chills down the spine.
Lin Xun cast a glance at the purple bamboo staff in the old man’s hand and said aloud, “Leave that item, and I will let you die a quick death.”
The purple bamboo staff was seven feet long, as thick as a child’s arm, and crystal-clear. The chaotic and unfathomable aura swirling around it indicated that it was a relic of the primeval era. Adding to this, its near-flawless quality made it undoubtedly a rare and precious treasure.
The old man looked blank, as if he did not expect a young man like Lin Xun to be so unyielding and even more domineering than him.
The fiend spirits lurking in the shadows couldn’t help but exchange whispers, surprised and shocked. They could not fathom the source of Lin Xun’s confidence.
“I gave you a chance…” The old man’s eyes suddenly glowed strangely as he tapped the ground with the purple bamboo staff in his hand.
Boom!
A barrage of violent purple lightning descended from the void, dancing like thousands of pythons and unleashing fearsome Emperor dao law power as it targeted Lin Xun.
Lin Xun neither dodged nor retreated but instead faced it head-on.
His figure glowed brilliantly as it transformed into a bottomless abyss, with endless dao light swirling around it. In that instant, his bearing and aura surged to their ultimate peak.
Boom!
The Dao Lifeless Seal erupted with a thunderous roar, unleashing a bronze light as immense and unshakable as a sacred moving mountain. The void disintegrated into dust, the heaven and earth trembled in chaos, and the purple lightning was obliterated in an instant.
Meanwhile, Lin Xun had already swung his fist forward, its force like a boundless abyss, swallowing the sky and earth and claiming everything in its path.
The old man snorted and faced it directly.
Within moments, Lin Xun’s fist crushed him with such force that he couldn’t raise his head. His blood and qi roiled uncontrollably, leaving him as pale as paper.
Even though he raised his purple bamboo staff to block the attack, he was still suppressed by the Dao Lifeless Seal. The staff wailed and vibrated uncontrollably, nearly slipping from his grasp.
“Die!”
As a calm, indifferent voice sounded, a furnace condensed before Lin Xun, showering billions of wonderful lights and emanating the power to suppress all of time—past, present and future.
“Unleash!” The old man roared, his eyes bloodshot, his muscles taut, and the veins on his forehead bulged. Terrifying fiendish blood-colored light erupted from his body like a tsunami, surging towards the furnace.
However, in the blink of an eye, the furnace obliterated all his efforts and resistance. His head, neck, and body exploded one after another, splattering blood everywhere.
The old man was actually killed and crushed alive!
He was a fiend spirit that had gained intelligence and possessed a cultivation that rivaled the first level of the Emperor Stage. Additionally, he was equipped with a relic of the primeval era. Even so, in a head-on clash, he was still utterly crushed by Lin Xun, a quasi-Emperor!
Boom!
Blood spurted everywhere, and the other old fiends were completely scared out of their wits.
“The old bamboo monster died like that?”
“That kid…how is he so heaven-defyingly strong?”
A burst of surprised voices rang out from the darkness, echoing between heaven and earth. The fiend spirits were all stunned by the scene.
Lin Xun ignored everything and just collected the purple bamboo staff. He took a quick look at it and was taken aback. It was indeed a primeval treasure called the Purple Silent Lightning Bamboo Staff, a top artifact imbued with terrifying lightning dao laws.
Lin Xun put it away without hesitation. Even if it was not useful to him, he could give it to Wuque and the Broken Blade spirit as food.
All that was left of the old man was a piece of Dao Essence Crystal that was shaped like a flying sword, raining a shower of dazzling purple light. Although it was only the size of an egg, its quality was undeniably extraordinary.
Lin Xun examined it closer in his hand, and to his astonishment, he found that within the Dao Essence Crystal resided a fragment of Emperor dao lightning law, radiant and dazzling!
“What a precious treasure!” He carefully put it away.
There was no need to fully comprehend the power of such a treasure. Simply refining it would integrate the lightning law into his cultivation!
After putting it away, Lin Xun took out a handful of average-grade Dao Essence Crystals and continued onwards while absorbing their powers to replenish the energy he had consumed.
Although he hadn’t expended much physical strength, the path ahead was certain to be full of dangers which meant he would have little time to rest or recover.
The fiend spirits watching in the dark all perked up. That guy is restoring his strength. Does that mean although his strength is heaven-defying, he can not sustain it for long?
Suddenly, murderous intent filled the world as if ready to erupt at any moment.
Lin Xun saw all of this, yet he remained undaunted and continued to move forward.
It was as if he was using himself as bait to draw his opponent out of the shadows. Undoubtedly, it was a risky move, but it was also the most efficient way to conserve energy.
Otherwise, actively hunting them down one by one could lead him to walking straight into the traps set by the enemies.
After all, he was an outsider, whereas those evil creatures, as residents of the sixth level of the Dark Hidden Purgatory, were unquestionably more familiar with the environment and had an absolute geographical advantage over him.
Swoosh!
In the void ahead, an ancient bronze tree suddenly emerged, its branches stretching skyward like sharp blades, while a pair of cold, piercing eyes sprang open on its trunk.
As the ancient tree swayed, a ray of fiendish blood-colored light shot up from its dense branches, striking fear into every creature in the world.
Before Lin Xun could react, a fierce qilin-like beast with antlers and eyes swirling like whirlpools emerged from another direction. With each step it took, an unparalleled murderous intent surged outward, spreading like an unstoppable tide.
“I didn’t expect Old Bronze Tree to attack together with Qilin Demon Emperor! It seems like the death of Old Bamboo Monster has made them more cautious...”
A surprised voice sounded in the dark.
