The Reborn Sidekick Rejected The Male Lead-Chapter 456: Extra 10_3
Chapter 456: Extra 10_3
The ones at home whom we could trust all had their own jobs.
In the end, it was Shen Mu who mentioned there was such a thing as a professional manager.
My second cousin looked into it and thought it was a good idea, so he asked Shen Mu to recommend a professional manager.
A few months later, Shen Mu recommended someone to them, a woman in her thirties.
My second cousin was somewhat doubtful, a woman her age, and with a child too.
But it turned out she had a university education and had worked for over a decade at a food factory in Capital City; she knew her business well.
They signed a contract for three years.
Now my aunt had more free time, and my second cousin even bought his dad a new car so he could go out with my uncle-in-law and take my mom on trips from time to time.
My older cousin and his wife couldn’t take long vacations, but they would bring the kids over whenever they had holidays.
It wasn’t like before when traveling was inconvenient. Now my older cousin also had a car, and with highways, it’s much more convenient. What used to take a day or two by train now only takes a few hours.
At the factory, my aunt divided the dividends into three parts.
One for the old couple and one for each of their two sons.
The manager didn’t let them down, and in two years, she had expanded their brand to most of the provincial capitals in the country.
They even set up a research and development department, which my aunt visited from time to time to offer guidance.
While traveling with my uncle-in-law, my aunt visited many cities and would encounter good local snacks.
Having seen much, she would come back and tinker with the food, occasionally offering new products for the factory.
Seeing my aunt like this, Lu Jingqiu said to her husband with emotion, "If we had known it would be like this, we should have hired a professional manager sooner."
Jiang Nanzhou laughed and said, "We only just found out, Qiuqiu. I’m discovering that I can barely keep up with the times. There’s this new mobile phone they’ve come out with, with individual numbers just like landlines."
Lu Jingqiu of course knew, and upon learning about this development, she had already told her second cousin.
She urged him to move quickly: "Second cousin got a dealership; once he gets his storefront up and running, let’s each get one."
"Good. From now on, we need to quickly learn about any new gadgets and keep up with the times."
Lu Jingqiu smiled, "It seems to me that it’s your industry that’s the most advanced. We should be following your lead."
Jiang Nanzhou laughed, "It’s not the same."
But it gave him an idea that maybe in his spare time, inventing something useful to the public wouldn’t be a bad idea.
So, when Jiang Nanzhou got that mobile phone, he compared it with his own brick phone.
A new smartphone, not used for many days, was dismantled by him completely.
Half of their basement was Jiang Nanzhou’s study and the other half was hers.
His side was filled with various parts and chips, which she couldn’t understand.
Jiang Nanzhou also didn’t allow her to clean there, due to past incidents.
Once, Lu Jingqiu came over to clean and ended up discarding many important components.
But to Lu Jingqiu, all that stuff was junk.
From then on, Jiang Nanzhou no longer asked his wife to help clean up.
However, Lu Jingqiu disliked the mess, so she ordered him to clean at least once a week.
After the phone came out, Jiang Nanzhou dismantled at least a dozen of them.
And he indeed invented a breakthrough chip that took the phone’s technology to the next level.
It was meant for military use, of course.
For this, Jiang Nanzhou filed for a patent and reported the invention to the higher-ups.
Two years passed, and my second cousin also made a fortune from this endeavor, receiving great inspiration.
He felt that times had changed; the electrical industry was changing, and communications were slowly evolving.
Therefore, he wanted to start a factory and thought that rather than selling others’ products, it would be better to develop his own.
When Lu Jingqiu told him to let go of the mobile phone opportunity, he was hesitating.
He verbally agreed, but in practice, he couldn’t let go. As a result of not moving with the times, he ended up losing a significant sum of money.
For this, my second cousin even came over to cry about not having followed her advice.
Fortunately, he had other projects to help him recover.
Second cousin felt that the risk with phones was too high, better to stick to the electrical industry he knew.
So, in those two years, the couple planned and opened an electrical appliance factory.
Initially, they made air conditioners.
Later, they also made refrigerators, washing machines, and the like.
My second cousin thus shed the distributor label and became a manufacturer.
Of course, he didn’t give up on the automobile industry and opened many 4S stores.
Building a two-pronged approach was like the mobile phone lesson; if something went wrong one day, the other could fill in the gap.
