The Retired CEO's Guide To Being Spoiled-Chapter 85: The Reclusive Doctor
It was unknown just how much time had passed. In that sealed room where day and night could not be distinguished and time could not be observed, the two people who were naked and entangled with one another collapsed at the same time.
The traces of lovemaking filled every place in the room. The blankets and pillows were messy, and the bed was full of thick, wet streaks; some had dried, while others seemed to be brand new. The atmosphere exuded a chaotic scent, overflowing with lust.
Julian Sterling lay on the bed, trying to part his lips to breathe, his body seemingly devoid of any strength. A moment later, he buried his head into the sweat-slicked chest of Ethan Caldwell, gradually sinking into sleep.
Ethan Caldwell also felt tired. Making love was, after all, a matter that consumed a great deal of energy. Moreover, for the entire day today, he had to sit on a plane to return to Saint Lawrence City after a long meeting, and then sit in a car to travel to this old, dilapidated residential area to find Julian Sterling.
Having not been able to close his eyes to rest at all for the whole day, by now Ethan Caldwell’s strength had also been almost completely worn away. truly, he no longer had the energy to worry about other matters.
And so, disregarding those other messy and chaotic things, Ethan Caldwell hugged Julian Sterling, and also closed his eyes to recover his strength for a bit.
Outside, the sky had grown darker and darker.
Kyle Talbot sat beside his brother, gnawing on the fast food that his brother had just ordered online. Every now and then, the young boy would cast his eyes toward the tightly closed door in the distance, the rims of his ears turning slightly red. Although the rooms here all had soundproofing, those two people were acting too passionately, and occasionally the young boy could still hear the moaning sounds that shrieked up from that young man.
Although he was already over twenty years old, Kyle Talbot was identical to his high school student face, his romantic history was zero, and he was as innocent as those kids who had just grown up. Having not yet experienced life but having to listen to a live narration of adult matters like this made the young boy endlessly shy.
Kieran Talbot was handling it much better than his foolish younger brother. Although in nearly thirty years of his life he also hadn’t had the opportunity to hold a girl’s hand, let alone make love to anyone. But he was an adult, and also a doctor; was there anything he hadn’t encountered?
They were all human beings together. The things you have, I also have, so why should there be any need to be shy?
Furthermore, he had encountered no shortage of situations involving life and death separations, to say nothing of a little matter of romantic bedroom affairs like this.
And so, Kieran Talbot knocked on his younger brother’s head a clearly painful blow: "Eat, what are you looking at."
Although his mouth spoke like that, Kieran Talbot still could not refrain from clicking his tongue once, silently sighing at their beastly stamina.
It had been quite a few hours already.
Most likely, he would have to examine his close friend’s body again tomorrow. truly, marrying a wife - ah, marrying a husband - was like welcoming a succubus into the house. Squeezed until he was dry.
Kieran Talbot shook his head. After he finished eating, he carried the two portions of light food that had not yet been opened into the kitchen and placed them in the warming box. He had ordered this for the two people inside, fearing that they had done too much, and when they came out they would have lost their strength and have nothing to eat.
In this house, ninety percent of the time was spent eating out, and the remaining ten percent was when Kieran Talbot was happy and would go down to the kitchen to cook a little. Kyle Talbot did not know how to cook; if his brother did not want to cook, they could only order takeout.
It was the standard life of a shut-in. It was also because of his lifestyle of not liking to step outside too much that Kieran had gone to work at the city hospital for only two years, and right when he was preparing to be promoted, he submitted his resignation application. According to his words, being promoted would require going to socialize and attend seminars a lot, and he did not like that.
In the end, Kieran Talbot returned home and applied for a license to open a clinic himself. Although his personality was such that he did not like to interact with people, his skills were high, so the doctors in the industry were all willing to stand up and write letters of introduction for him. The matter of opening a private clinic was as easy as turning over a hand.
But the disadvantage of this matter was that because he was lazy, in the past he did not appear before the public much, so he did not have a very famous reputation. Opening a clinic himself when he was too young also made his clinic not very trusted by people. And so, the business phase was quite sluggish. Who would dare to trust a young doctor who didn’t have much experience and had quit after working for only two years?
Even though he came from a famous medical school, even though he resigned from the city hospital, and even though he had leading doctors acting as guarantees, people still did not dare. Are you joking? That is one’s own life; if he treats it wrong, can he compensate for another life?
Later, for a number of reasons, Kieran Talbot’s name began to spread everywhere, and the clinic also became known by more people. However, the people who could come here were all those from families with conditions. It was not that Kieran Talbot disliked the poor and loved the rich. Occasionally when walking outside, if he met someone who was seriously ill but did not have the ability to pay, he would still often lead that person back to the clinic to treat them for free.
But it was difficult for ordinary people to make their way to this clinic.
Who in the world would build a clinic within a residential area right in the center of the city? Looking at it briefly, it was no different from a private clinic for wealthy families; how would ordinary people dare to come? Even if they dared to go, being able to get up here was also a whole problem.
The most laughable thing was that Kieran Talbot did this aiming to interact less with other people, and quitting his job was also to escape seminars, but as his name rose up, the number of times he was invited to go abroad increased day by day.
It was true that he could choose not to go, but those consultation cases made him itchy all over, and he had to go.
Ultimately, at present, there were times when Kieran Talbot was even busier than the time he was in the city hospital. It was truly... Aizzz...
He just sighed while returning to the main hall of the clinic. This clinic was built in a form combining a residence and a place for medical examination and treatment, and there were even hospital beds for patients to lie down in for a short time.
These past few days, Kieran Talbot wanted to rest after the seminar abroad, so he told Kyle Talbot to hang the sign suspending operations, and they would only start working again at the beginning of next week. Therefore, right now Kieran Talbot was relatively free and was not receiving any patients. Taking advantage of the fact that those two characters were resolving their personal problems, Kieran Talbot went to research the type of medicine in Julian Sterling’s body. He was relatively curious about this method of formulation.
Kyle Talbot saw his brother walking into the research room, so he hastily stuffed the food into his mouth, used a wet towel to wipe his mouth clean, and then ran quickly after his brother. He was still young, his medical skills were not equal to his brother’s, and he also had no interest in holding a scalpel. Compared to standing in the operating room for several hours, he liked research and preparation more.
The large clinic instantly became strangely quiet. Inside that room, Ethan Caldwell slowly woke up. He lay supine on the bed, one hand resting on his forehead, and the remaining hand hugging Julian Sterling’s shoulder. The boy was still buried in his chest, sleeping very soundly.
Ethan Caldwell stared at the ceiling, thought for a bit, and then used his hand to reach for the phone on the small cabinet next to the bed, pressing the number to call Helen Lloyd.
The bell rang for two beats before someone answered the phone. The voice of Helen Lloyd transmitted from the other end. Ethan Caldwell gave a hum, and lazily asked: "How is everything?"
