The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 293 - 288: I’ve Got My Soldiers Covered! (5)
"Instructor, in here?"
Outside the Ningchuan Grand Hotel, four military vehicles screeched to a halt. As they were getting out, a soldier in a training uniform quickly asked Qin Fan.
"Follow me upstairs!" Qin Fan commanded sharply, not bothering to answer the question as he strode into the hotel. Seeing this, the sixteen uniformed soldiers behind him followed closely, their expressions grim and resolute.
This sudden, imposing arrival drew the attention of the entire hotel. The lobby manager shivered, hurrying over to the group of soldiers with a panicked look on his face. "Excuse me, sirs, what's going on?"
"We're looking for someone!" Qin Fan said indifferently, walking toward the elevators. The soldiers ignored the manager, lining up behind Qin Fan at the elevator bank.
Looking for someone? Did a guest here really provoke these military hotshots? Damn it, if the hotel gets caught in the crossfire, I'll be the first to go down!
Breaking into a cold sweat, he rushed over. "Sirs! May I know who you're looking for? We have records at the front desk! I can assist you!"
"Thanks, but no need. The best way you can cooperate is to stand aside," Qin Fan said emotionlessly, shaking his head.
Just then, the elevator doors opened, and the group of seventeen filed in. Without a moment's hesitation, Qin Fan pressed the button for the eighteenth floor. Soon, with a DING, the doors slid open. Qin Fan walked toward room 1804 without a second thought.
"Tie Niu!"
The moment Qin Fan led his team inside, the sixteen soldiers widened their eyes and shouted in shock.
Tie Niu was slightly taken aback by the arrival of his comrades, but only for a moment. He sniffed, looked at Qin Fan and the others, and wiped the tears from his eyes. "Go back, all of you! Don't try to persuade me. No one can."
"Tie Niu, are you really going to be a deserter?!" one of the soldiers shouted angrily.
"It doesn't matter anymore," Tie Niu said.
"I'm not here to persuade you," Qin Fan's voice suddenly rang out.
"Instructor, I know you're capable! I'm begging you, don't take me back! Let me go! I'll return in a few days and confess everything to my superiors! I'll take full responsibility for the consequences. Just give me one chance, please?" Faced with Qin Fan's words, Tie Niu dropped to his knees with a thud. He knew that if Qin Fan wanted to capture him, ten of him would be powerless to resist. But he couldn't leave, not at this critical moment. He absolutely couldn't.
"My soldiers only kneel to the heavens, the earth, and their parents! Get up!" Qin Fan's face turned cold as he bellowed.
"Instructor, I won't get up unless you agree! Please, just pretend you never saw me, alright? Okay?!" Tie Niu cried out, his head tilted back and his eyes filled with tears.
"Instructor, please, help me take my brother back!" Just then, Cui Ru also fell to her knees before Qin Fan. At this critical juncture, she had no time to wonder why this young man, so much younger than herself, was her brother's instructor. She just wanted the army to take her brother back and stop him from doing something impulsive. Otherwise, based on her years of knowing her brother, only a dead end awaited him—nothing but a dead end.
"Well, this is interesting. The brother and sister are kneeling together. Trying to worship me, are you? Are we missing some offerings and incense?" Qin Fan snorted and shook his head coldly. Although they had only known each other for three days, the fact that they had held on for that long without backing down meant Qin Fan already considered them his own men. Exasperated, he grabbed Tie Niu by the collar and hauled him to his feet.
"Since I'm your instructor, I'll handle what you can't! I'll settle the score for the grievances you've suffered! Liao Yuanhang dared to call my soldier trash, and I made him lose a leg and kneel in apology. So why the hell are you sneaking behind my back to become a deserter? Huh?!
"Can you stop with that pathetic, cowardly face? Weren't you the first one to yell at me three days ago that you weren't trash? Are you saying you're not trash now?"
With that, Qin Fan hurled Tie Niu against the wall.
BANG!
The wall shuddered.
Tie Niu cried.
"What are you crying for?! Get your sister up! Now!" Qin Fan shot a cold glare at Tie Niu, who had tears streaming down his face, and snapped.
"Instructor, I appreciate the thought, but this is my own problem! I can't drag you into this, I can't—" Huddled against the wall, Tie Niu buried his face in his hands and began to howl in anguish.
With a cold snort, Qin Fan walked over and kicked him. "You don't want to drag me into this? Fine. Come back with me right now! Back to the base! First, you get the hell out of my unit. After that, do whatever you want. Live or die, it'll have nothing to do with me! Get up and come with me!"
"Instructor!" Tie Niu curled into a ball from the kick and screamed.
"You two, help her up," Qin Fan said, ignoring Tie Niu and pointing to the soldiers near Cui Ru.
"Yes, Instructor!" Two soldiers responded immediately, quickly helping Cui Ru up and placing her on the bed.
"Last chance. Are you going to talk or not?" Qin Fan asked again, his voice icy as he pointed at Tie Niu on the floor.
WAAAH! WAAAH! WAAAH!
At that moment, his emotions completely collapsed. Tie Niu, a tough-as-nails soldier and a man well over six feet tall, broke down completely, crying his heart out. His usual unyielding resilience was gone. The bold defiance he had shown when roaring at Qin Fan that he wasn't trash or useless had vanished.
"All of you, step outside. Guard this room and don't let anyone near," Qin Fan said, turning to the soldiers as he listened to Tie Niu's heart-wrenching sobs.
"Yes, Instructor!" Although they had no idea what Qin Fan was planning, the soldiers responded with a crisp affirmation and filed out of the room.
"Get up and tell me the whole story. I've got my soldiers' backs. Even if you want to tear a hole in the sky, I'll be there to help you do it," Qin Fan said, his tone softening slightly as he let out a breath. Looking at Cui Ru's disheveled clothes, vacant gaze, and dazed expression, then taking in the hotel room and the stack of cash on the nightstand, he had a sinking feeling. He had a guess as to what had happened, but from the bottom of his heart, he hoped he was wrong.
Before Tie Niu could speak, Cui Ru slid off the bed and once again knelt heavily before Qin Fan. "Instructor, since you insist on knowing, fine! I'll tell you," she said, biting her lip in profound sorrow. "But I have one plea, a desperate request. Please, take my brother back to the base. Don't let him make a terrible mistake and go down the wrong path! Our family can't lose him. We can't bear it! If his future and his life are ruined because of me, I won't be able to rest in peace, even in death! Please, I beg you!"
Deep in her eyes was the utter despair of a life with no future.
