The Rising Phoenix-Chapter 943: The Treatment
"Hmm..." Si Tang nodded.
Everything else could wait. Her mother’s health was the absolute priority at the moment.
"Someone, take these men to my dungeon. Guard them tightly. Don’t let anyone in." Si Tang gave her order.
A group of guards stepped forward immediately. They bound the men in black securely and hauled them away toward the dungeon cells without delay.
"Lady Bai, let’s take those elixirs to my mother." Si Tang said to Bai Xifeng.
"Tang’er... Can I..." Si Wuntian’s voice trailed off as he tried to follow.
Before he could finish his sentence, Si Tang cut him off sharply.
No... Don’t bother. Just stay here and keep your concubine company. Watch her closely. She is still a suspect. I don’t want her running away." Si Tang said, reminding her father.
Having delivered her final words, Si Tang turned and walked away with Bai Xifeng. Si Wuntian stood there, stunned and speechless, never expecting that his own daughter would forbid him from seeing his wife.
"Husband... Si Tang is still young and impulsive..." Mei Lijuan tried to comfort him softly, reaching out to hold his hand.
However, Si Wuntian pulled his hand away coldly, his expression turning distant.
"Mei Lijuan, for your own sake, you had better have nothing to do with this. Otherwise, even I will not forgive you." Si Wuntian said sternly before turning his back on her and leaving without another glance.
Bai Xifeng and Si Tang went to Si Tang’s mother’s room.
Si Tang’s mother was awake. She smiled as she saw her daughter come in. She also saw the girl who followed behind her daughter.
"This must be Lady Bai, right?" Si Tang’s mother said.
"Yes... She is the pharmacist whom I call to heal you." Si Tang nodded.
"Thank you, Lady Bai." Si Tang’s mother nodded.
"Well, it is time to get the poison out of your body." Bai Xifeng said.
"Mum..." Si Tang looked at her mother.
"Let’s get it done." Si Tang’s mother replied resolutely.
"We have to do this in exact sequence." Bai Xifeng instructed. "If we mix the order, the energies will clash and tear her veins apart."
"Yes." Si Tang nodded seriously.
Bai Xifeng took out the first vial. It was the Scarlet Blood Detoxification Elixir. The liquid inside was a violent, pulsing crimson, as if it were alive.
"Please drink this." Bai Xifeng said.
Si Tang’s mother opened her mouth weakly. The opening was small, but it was enough for the liquid to flow into her mouth.
Almost instantly, her skin began to steam. A foul, black liquid started to oozing from her pores. It must be the accumulated poison from Pharmacist Jung’s "medicine" being forcibly ejected. Her pale face flushed a deep, painful red as her blood began to circulate properly for the first time in months.
"She is burning up!" Si Tang cried, instinctively reaching out toward her mother.
"Don’t touch her!" Bai Xifeng snapped. The elixir is boiling the poison out of her marrow. If you touch her now, you will get srorched."
Thus, Si Tang was forced to stand there and watch as her mother endured the process for thirty long minutes. Eventually, the black liquid finally stopped seeping out of her mother’s skin.
As soon as the black substance ceased, Bai Xifeng reached for the second jade bottle, the Biting Bone Elixir. Inside, it was a swirling, cloudy blue mist.
Because Si Tang’s mother had fallen unconscious after the first stage, Bai Xifeng had to gently pry open her mouth to let the liquid in. The moment the elixir touched her tongue, the temperature in the room seemed to drop noticeably.
The name "Biting Bone" was literal—it was designed to settle the inflammation deep within the body. The horrific swelling in her arms began to recede visibly, and the stretched skin slowly shrank back to its natural shape.
Her laboured, rattling breaths gradually smoothed out into a deep, rhythmic slumber. The "fire" from the first elixir was now being tempered by the "ice" of the second.
Bai Xifeng then told Si Tang that they needed to wait for an hour. She herself needed to rest, as she was still injured. She asked Si Tang to wake her once the time was up.
Bai Xifeng wanted to sleep deeply, but she was wary that the assassin might come after her again. Therefore, she summoned Gryffindor to stand guard while she slept. Only then did she allow herself to rest fully.
Si Tang was slightly surprised, but she understood the reasoning. If the assassin truly came, she knew she would have to prioritise protecting her mother first.
Fortunately, nothing happened. The allotted time passed peacefully.
Si Tang approached Bai Xifeng and gently woke her.
"Is the time up?" Bai Xifeng asked while yawning, as she rubbed her eyes.
"Yes." Si Tang nodded.
Finally, Bai Xifeng took out the gold-coloured elixir. The colour was rich and radiant. This was the Two-Revolution Longlife Yuan Elixir.
This elixir could not be consumed directly. It needed to be mixed with a drop of water before it could be consumed.
Bai Xifeng carefully followed the required steps and then helped Si Tang’s mother drink it. The effect was immediate. A soft, golden glow enveloped her body.
The withered muscles in her neck and face began to fill out gradually. Her gray, brittle hair regained a healthy sheen, and the deep lines of pain around her eyes slowly vanished.
This elixir was not merely healing her. It was restoring the life force that had been drained by months of slow poisoning.
After a long moment of silence, Si Tang’s mother’s eyelids fluttered. She let out a soft, relieved sigh. Her hands, once swollen and discoloured, now gripped the bedsheets with surprising strength.
