The Rough Hunter's Little Lucky Wife-Chapter 382 - Shangjing (Part 1)
382 Shangjing (Part 1)
It was the beginning of spring.
His trip to Shangjing had already been prepared. Zhao Zhan found the caravan from Huai County and set the departure date for seven days.
“Doctor Sun…”
A blanket was placed in Doctor Sun’s courtyard. Yue Jiaojiao placed Zhao Nian on top of it and placed a little tiger toy beside him so that he could play with it.
“It’s spring, and the ground is cold.” Doctor Sun was so focused on processing the medicinal herbs that he did not even lift his head. “Put Zhao Nian on top, be careful not to let his stomach freeze.”
“I stuffed an extra piece of cotton cloth into his stomach.” Yue Jiaojiao sat opposite Doctor Sun and helped him up.
“Put that down,” Doctor Sun took the medicinal herbs from her hand. “Your hands are not as nimble as Zhao Zhan’s. Don’t damage my precious medicinal herbs.”
“Doctor Sun, please come with us to Shangjing.”
“Why should I go? What kind of place is Shangjing? It sounds like a dangerous place.” Doctor Sun would always get into a bad mood whenever Shangjing was mentioned. “I don’t even want to stay in Hekou County, so why would I want to go to Shangjing with you? ”
“Without you, what would Zhao Nian do?”
Yue Jiaojiao pointed at Zhao Nian, who was happily crawling on the mat. “Look, he’s about to learn how to walk. It’s normal for him to bump into something. What if we can’t acclimatize to the environment after we get to Shangjing? Without you, what are we going to do when something happens?”
“There are many good doctors in Shangjing, you won’t need me.”
Doctor Sun’s will was firm and unwavering. “If you leave, This house will be empty. Are you not going to let me stay here?”
“Doctor Sun, I can’t go to Shangjing with peace of mind if you stay in Willow Village alone.”
Although Doctor Sun’s body looked healthy, he was, after all, old.
She didn’t know when they would return from their trip to the capital, so Yue Jiaojiao couldn’t be at ease leaving Doctor Sun alone in Willow Village.
“Look at what this is.”
Yue Jiaojiao placed a piece of paper in front of Doctor Sun. “Please take a closer look.” ƒ𝚛e𝘦𝙬𝗲𝒃𝓷𝒐𝘃𝘦𝑙. 𝒄o𝓂
Doctor Sun finally put down the medicinal herbs in his hand and turned to look at the paper in front of him.
On the paper was the structure of a house, one of which was circled.
“This is the place we prepared for you.”
“This house was prepared by Zhao Zhan’s relatives. We will stay here for a while after we go to Shangjing. When we have established ourselves in Shangjing, we will buy a new property. They’ve even cleaned up this small courtyard for you.
“When Sun Jiyan came to bid farewell before the new year, Zhao Zhan specially asked him to go to Shangjing to renovate the house. The door to this small courtyard was reopened, and the floor tiles in the courtyard were pried up to create a separate medicine garden for you.
“And in this room, the medicine rack has already been prepared for you. There’s a separate side door here for you as well.”
Yue Jiaojiao tried her best to explain in detail. “When you come out from this side door there’s a medicine hall opposite of you. If you have nothing to do, you can go in and take a look.”
“Medicine Hall?”
Doctor Sun picked up the drawing and took a close look at it, then looked up at Yue Jiaojiao.
“This house is so close to the medicine hall, so there’s even less need for me to be there, right?”
Yue Jiaojiao saw that he was tempted but still did not relent. She picked up Zhao Nian, who was eating the little tiger , and stuffed him into Doctor Sun’s arms.
“Can you bear to part with Zhao Nian? And also Luoning, the child you saved. She still hasn’t recovered from her congenital deficiency. Are you not worried about her?
“Shangjing is such a scary place. I’m worried if a doctor from outside is invited to our house…”
Doctor Sun looked at Zhao Nian, who was struggling.
The weather was getting cold, and the little guy could not go out. He stayed at home all day, and his skin became even fairer from it.
Doctor Sun hugged him, worried that the calluses on his hands would scratch his tender little face.
Zhao Nian raised his head and looked at Doctor Sun, who was grinning happily. Then, he grabbed Doctor Sun’s beard and pulled it down.
“Fine, fine.” Doctor Sun laughed in pain from being pulled. “I’ll go with you. Jiyan just so happened to send a letter a few days ago that he’s not far from Shangjing. I’ll go to Shangjing to see him while I’m here.”
“It’s great that you’re willing to come with us.”
Yue Jiaojiao tried her best to persuade Doctor Sun for a long time before he finally relented.
“Then, please look after Zhao Nian. I’ll have Zhao Zhan come over to help you pack your things.”
Doctor Sun waved his hand, urging Yue Jiaojiao to leave quickly.
