The Secret Obsession of the CEO-Chapter 252: Growing Together
Gordon Faraday looked at Liam for a moment before turning his face away. Rory held Liam’s hand as she could see that he was getting angry.
"It was you, Mr. Faraday. You are the one helping Lennon."
Rory was taken aback. She let go of Liam’s hand and turned to look at Gordon. Gordon didn’t even flinch at the question.
"You are Agnes’ granddaughter. She used the same tactic you used a lot of times," he said. "Tell me what you want."
"You did it all to see whether she meets him or not?" Liam gritted his teeth. Rory didn’t have to stop him as he held himself back.
Whatever happened, happened. Turns out, they weren’t in real danger at all. That means their family is safe. That’s what is important.
And she could see why her grandmother didn’t trust Gordon Faraday much. This guy is eccentric and doesn’t care about anything. He does what he likes.
Gordon didn’t answer Liam. Rory stepped forward. "I want to see him die in pain," she said leaning closer to Gordon. They are in a public place. She cannot shout.
Liam raised his brows hearing her.
"Private viewing?" Gordon asked fixing his suit.
"No, he should die as a convicted prisoner," Rory said. "The families of his victims should see him dying in pain. For our closure," she added.
Gordon looked at her with a smirk. He looked proud for one reason. He probably was thinking that she indeed was Agnes’ granddaughter or something. She didn’t care.
"Too bad your country doesn’t allow firing squad anymore. And they try to give a humane death to them... But you are right. Let’s not waste the taxpayers’ money too much," Gordon smiled. "Anything you want to ask regarding his business?" he asked.
Rory smiled. "Thank you so much, Mr. Faraday. Liam has started his business just now. So..."
She didn’t say anything more. She didn’t want to blatantly refuse help but at the same time, she didn’t want to accept his help. It would be up to Liam. She did think that Liam would agree with her when she says that they don’t have to involve dangerous people like Gordon and others who were acquainted with her grandmother.
That’s a different part of the world they would try and avoid being a part of. She might be naive in her thinking and maybe there is no way to avoid those people. But they can learn.
Gordon looked at Rory and then hugged Liam. Rory heard Gordon whispering something in Liam’s ears and then he walked away from them. He was almost immediately surrounded by people who wanted to meet him.
Gordon, like a proud peacock, ignored them all and walked to the other end of the hall.
Rory walked around and talked to people which also filled her stomach. Liam was staying close to her although they were talking to different people. Rory could see the difference in their treatment after Gordon left them.
They were respectful while talking to them.
Liam rubbed her back after a while. She knew he was happy just by the smile on his face. She sensed that he wanted to talk to her about something. So, she walked out of the hall and to the hallway leading to the restrooms. Liam followed her.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Why?" Rory looked at him with her eyebrows furrowed. He seemed to be meaning something. But she didn’t know what it was about.
Has he already guessed the pregnancy? Is that why he is being extra nice to me today?
"Do you think the trial tomorrow will be on our side?" Liam asked.
"Yeah..." Rory nodded. She was a little disappointed though. But the trial must be on his mind constantly. Poor guy.
"What did he mean by not wasting taxpayer money? Are they going to hang him earlier?" Liam asked.
"I hope so," Rory nodded.
Usually, they take their time with the death penalty. Some convicts even wait decades before they are killed. But Rory wouldn’t want to wait that long.
And she didn’t want to Lennon to die of natural causes or by someone’s hands. She wanted him to die on record as a death row convict. For someone who wanted to rule the world while pretending to be a charming guy, what other shame is there for his name to be recorded as a murderer for all eternity?
"Shall we go continue our hustle? We can regroup at home, shall we, partner?" Liam smiled.
His blue eyes glittered in the warm light and his blond hair glowed. She had never thought that there will be a day she and her husband would work together as partners. Liam was very terrible in the past and she too was not any better. But a lot has changed.
"Why are you this handsome?" she pinched his cheeks. "I want to eat you up," she whispered in his ears, standing on her tiptoes.
"Come on then," Liam gestured at the ladies’ room.
Rory rolled her eyes. "Come on!" She didn’t think he was serious.
Liam stared at her and licked his lips. It didn’t seem like he was joking. Rory tried to push him to the hall, but he dragged her into the ladies’ room.
"What are you..." she hissed.
Pressing her back on the closed door, he held her cheek. "I just want to look at you..." he smirked.
The same smirk... what an idiot!
But...
"I’m so glad I got to know you as a boy... and now I’m here, I’ve watched you grow into a man... It’s a great blessing, you know..." She said from her heart.
That’s what she feels, and she would tell him that any chance she gets.
"You made me into the man I am today," he said. He meant it.
"Just like I turned you into a woman," he didn’t forget to add and kissed her.
Rory giggled and tried to push him off. But he smacked kisses on the face.
"Stop it, Fizzy..." Rory tried to look around. "There might be others..." she whispered.
"There’s no one else," Liam chuckled. "Give me my energy boost, Cherry..." he smacked her all over.
Rory chuckled in his embrace. She felt ticklish all over as he kissed her. But then their little session was interrupted by a small thudding noise.
Rory peeked from Liam’s chest and she saw a toilet paper roll rolling out of one of the stalls.
Dear God! There is someone in here!
She pushed Liam away. Liam stared at the rolling toilet paper roll. Just as Rory gathered herself out of embarrassment, she heard the door of that stall opening.
What should I do? Should I hide this guy in the stall? But that person would have heard us!
