The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 151: Hoping the Sweetness Stays Forever
She didn’t want Holly to experience the bitterness of love, because that bitterness doesn’t fade with time.
Her mother was like this, even though she was divorced now, her heart still held Miles Miller, or rather, Miles Miller had never vanished from her heart.
"It will."
Holly put away the candy, perhaps Leo Grant’s affection gave her the courage to say these two words so firmly.
She and Leo Grant would continue to be sweet together, without any surprises.
"Sister, I won’t be seeing you off tomorrow, so I’m saying goodbye to you today."
She was afraid she couldn’t hold back her tears. Although they had only been together for a few months, Holly had already captured a significant place in her heart.
"Okay."
Holly was never one for sentimental words nor was she good at comforting people.
"This is for you."
"I hope someday you will wear it."
Holly took out a gift bag and placed it in front of Nancy Miller.
Inside the bag was a performance costume, a very luxurious dress, meant for wearing during a traditional dance performance.
"It’s really beautiful."
Nancy Miller’s eyes were filled with light.
The two sisters chatted casually for a moment, then parted ways.
"Wear more layers."
The café was warm inside, but cold winds greeted them as they stepped outside.
Leo Grant was waiting at the door for Holly, and as soon as he saw her come out, he draped a coat around her, enveloping her tiny frame instantly.
"Oh, it’s really warm inside."
Holly mumbled softly, tightening the coat around herself.
It was really cold outside.
"Here, a hot water bottle."
Leo Grant handed a hot water bottle to Holly.
The little girl was afraid of the cold, and he had surely prepared it in advance, not wanting her to be chilled.
"Thank you, brother."
Holly playfully blinked, filled with joy.
The feeling of being cared for was really nice, and she enjoyed it immensely.
"You don’t need to thank me."
Leo Grant gently ruffled Holly’s hair, his voice indulgent yet soft.
Taking care of Holly was something he ought to do.
His girl, if he didn’t take care of her, who would?
Holly nodded, her smile sweet: "Okay."
"Are you hungry?"
Leo Grant asked, noting that the little girl hadn’t eaten much in the morning before she left, so she should be feeling hungry by now.
"A little."
Holly rubbed her belly, murmuring.
Indeed, she felt a bit hungry.
"Here, have a bite, you must be starving."
Leo Grant took out a small piece of cake and handed it to Holly.
He knew the little girl would feel hungry, so he had prepared some food in advance to keep her stomach settled.
Holly held the small cake warmly in her heart.
"Let’s go have dinner."
Leo Grant considerately opened the car door for Holly, then placed his hand on the car roof, preventing her from hitting her head.
"What are we eating?"
Holly’s mouth was full, as she mumbled and inquired.
"We’ll eat at home, Mrs. Hayes has prepared the meal."
Leo Grant looked at Holly, speaking slowly, his tone indulgent yet soft.
The meals at home were healthier; he had already called Mrs. Hayes to prepare the meals and wait for them to come home and eat.
"Okay."
Holly immediately responded.
Sometimes what to eat really isn’t important; what’s important is who you share the meal with. Being able to eat with Leo Grant was truly wonderful.
Two people, three meals four seasons.
"Your favorite dishes are prepared."
Leo Grant looked at Holly affectionately, his tone extremely gentle.
No matter what they eat, he would certainly include what Holly liked the most.
Holly held a significant place in his mind.
"I knew brother was the best."
Holly playfully blinked, smiling broadly.
Leo Grant was indeed very very good to her.
"When you get back to Arkenfall, do you want to come live with brother?"
Leo Grant asked.
Things are different between Bexley and Arkenfall, and Holly has a home in Arkenfall, so Leo Grant wasn’t sure if Holly would want to live with him.
"Of course."
Holly said without hesitation, playfully blinking.
Of course, she didn’t want to be separated from Leo Grant; her dependency on him was really strong now, wanting to cling to him all the time.
Isn’t this the beginning stage of love?
Holly hadn’t experienced love before, so she didn’t quite understand.
"Brother, here."
Holly took out the candy Nancy Miller had given her and passed it to Leo Grant, smiling mischievously.
"Candy?"
Leo Grant looked to Holly, his eyes somewhat puzzled.
The candy wrapper was pretty, decorated with cartoon designs, very cute.
"Try to see if it’s sweet."
Holly smiled as she unwrapped the candy and placed a piece in Leo Grant’s mouth, watching him expectantly.
Nancy Miller had given her a variety of candy flavors, but all were overly sweet.
"Very sweet."
Leo Grant’s expression wasn’t great but he still tried to appear natural.
He wasn’t fond of sweets; this candy was overwhelmingly sweet, every cell in Leo Grant’s body was screaming to spit it out, but he still acted naturally.
The little girl gave it to him, so he should eat it obediently and finish it.
"Is it overly sweet?"
Holly could see Leo Grant’s micro-expressions clearly.
Leo Grant nodded.
"Spit it out."
Holly grabbed some tissues and placed them in her palm, holding her hand out to Leo Grant.
"It’s very sweet, brother likes it."
Leo Grant shook his head, speaking slowly.
Holly liked sweets, so he could gradually learn to enjoy them too, slowly catering to Holly’s tastes.
"But brother frowned."
Holly tilted her head to look at Leo Grant, gently biting her lower lip.
She knew Leo Grant didn’t like sweets; she didn’t expect him to eat it all, she just wanted Leo Grant to taste it.
"It’s okay, as long as Holly likes it, brother will too."
Leo Grant smiled softly, his tone serene and gentle.
Everything Holly likes, he will slowly accept, striving to meet Holly’s taste.
He wanted to give Holly the best, to give Holly the greatest affection.
Holly suddenly felt her nose tingle, touched.
"Does brother know why I wanted you to eat candy?"
Holly slowly asked, looking at Leo Grant with serious eyes.
Leo Grant shook his head.
The little girl was a bit peculiar.
"Candy is sweet."
Holly blinked.
Leo Grant looked at Holly in confusion.
"I hope our relationship can endure, from sweet beginning to end, from mouth to stomach."
Holly laughed, her eyes shimmering as she looked at Leo Grant, bursting with joy.
They began sweetly; they were enviable, a couple as if blessed by the divine, and she was a child cherished by Leo Grant.
Eating candy brings a sensation starting at the mouth and gradually absorbed till it reaches the stomach.
