The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 157: Acceptance
"My Holly is so cute, my grandpa will definitely like her."
Leo pulled Holly into his arms and gently ruffled her hair.
"Big brother."
As they walked, a lively voice came from ahead.
Holly looked forward and saw a young girl wearing a light green traditional dress not far away, draped in a thick shawl and wearing a furry hat.
"Big brother, you’re back!"
Sarah approached, looking at Leo with delight, her face openly expressing her joy.
Leo had been away for five years and rarely came back, so they hardly saw him.
Leo’s voice was indifferent: "Mm."
Sarah was the daughter of Leo’s third uncle, Finn Grant.
"Who is this?"
Sarah’s gaze fell on Holly’s face, who was in Leo’s arms, and she was slightly surprised.
Holly was actually being held by Leo???
Sarah could hardly believe it, staring at Holly somewhat hostilely.
"Your sister-in-law."
Leo tightened his grip on Holly a bit.
Sister-in-law???
Sarah’s expression changed instantly, staring unblinkingly at Holly.
Leo actually had a girlfriend?
No way?
"Be polite."
Leo blocked Holly with his hand and frowned slightly, looking at Sarah with some dissatisfaction.
"Does Stella know you have a girlfriend?"
Sarah blinked, lightly biting her lip.
Everyone in the Grant family knew that Stella Jacobs liked Leo, and of course, Leo couldn’t be unaware of it.
Stella was the eldest daughter of the Jacobs Family but had been fostered by the Grant family since childhood, and was Sarah’s close friend.
"Does it concern her?"
Leo’s gaze instantly turned cold.
He didn’t like others bringing up these things; other people’s feelings were not his concern.
"Hello, I’m Holly Sawyer, Leo’s girlfriend."
Holly introduced herself to Sarah openly, her smile particularly sweet.
Hmph, does she think I’m non-existent?
"The Grant family is hard to enter."
Sarah tossed this sentence and turned away in a huff, presumably to complain to Stella.
"Hmph, it seems your sister doesn’t like me."
Holly clung to Leo’s arm, grumbling.
"As long as I like you, that’s enough."
"Others don’t matter; they can’t interfere with my decision."
Leo gazed at Holly tenderly, his voice indulgent.
His feelings for Holly, his kindness to her, didn’t need anyone else’s evaluation.
Holly smiled warmly.
"Good morning, young master."
The butler walked out of the living room and greeted Leo upon seeing him.
Leo: "Has Grandpa woken up?"
"Master is enjoying his tea in the living room. And this young lady is?"
The butler chuckled, his eyes falling on Holly’s face with a hint of curiosity.
Leo’s return naturally delighted those who sided with him.
"My girlfriend, my future wife."
Leo tightened his grip on Holly and spoke slowly.
He would introduce Holly openly to everyone.
"Hello, young madam."
The butler beamed more broadly, nodding continuously.
"Grandpa."
Elder Grant was having tea in the living room, holding a book. Hearing Leo’s voice, he quickly put down the book and turned around, smiling warmly.
"Leo, you’ve come to keep your grandpa company for tea?"
"Holly, why are you here?"
Putting on his reading glasses, Elder Grant looked at Holly in surprise, quite incredulous.
Could it be that there’s something wrong with his health again?
"Grandpa, this is my girlfriend, Holly Sawyer."
Leo’s lips curved upward slightly as he introduced her solemnly.
Elder Grant was taken aback on the spot, looking at the two holding hands in shock, his glasses nearly slipping off.
"You...you..."
Elder Grant pointed shakily at Holly and Leo.
"We’ve been together for quite a while."
Leo held Holly’s hand tightly, feeling a bit nervous as well.
He hoped to have the blessing of the person he cared most about, not wanting to fall out with Elder Grant over this.
Staying together with Holly forever was the promise he made to her. Regardless of Elder Grant’s thoughts, he would never let go of Holly’s hand.
"I introduced so many young ladies to you before, but you didn’t fancy any of them. Turns out your heart had a place for someone."
Elder Grant, after a moment, nodded thoughtfully.
He didn’t disapprove of Leo and Holly, just felt surprised.
No wonder this young girl treated him twice, and there was such a big difference between the two times.
The first time was downright cold, but the second was much warmer.
"Hello, Grandpa."
Holly gently bit her lip and greeted him.
Oh, quite awkward.
The three of them sat down to chat, and Elder Grant asked Holly the usual questions, which she answered one by one.
Elder Grant nodded, not having high requirements for Leo’s future wife as long as Leo liked her.
Besides, he quite liked Holly too.
The young lady was beautiful, and her demeanor was pleasant.
"Grandpa, let me check your pulse."
After chatting for a while, having gotten more familiar, Holly offered.
Elder Grant extended his hand to Holly for her to take his pulse.
"You are much better; I’ll prescribe some medicine to help regulate your health."
Holly said.
Birth, aging, illness, and death are common in life. She’s not a miracle worker and couldn’t solve all of Elder Grant’s health issues, but she could help regulate them.
His complexion improved a lot, and his health was on the mend; barring accidents, he still had many years ahead.
"Very good, very good." Elder Grant nodded repeatedly, "I never thought the miracle doctor treating me could become my granddaughter-in-law."
Elder Grant looked at Holly with approval.
He was old and asked nothing more than for Leo to find a companion.
"I’m not a miracle doctor."
Holly denied Elder Grant’s statement.
She’s just slightly more skilled in her field, not enough to be called a miracle worker.
A beautiful, capable, and humble girl, Elder Grant liked Holly even more.
He felt his grandson was lucky to find such a girlfriend.
Elder Grant offered them breakfast, and they stayed.
"Didn’t I say my grandpa would like you, right?"
Leo gently ruffled Holly’s hair, his voice soft and tender.
His lovely, beautiful, and delightful girl would surely be liked by everyone.
Holly pursed her lips and said nothing.
After breakfast, the two left.
Leo asked, "Do you want to explore Arkenfall?"
The young girl loved visiting food markets and streets, and Leo thought she couldn’t wait any longer by now?
"Of course."
Holly’s eyes instantly lit up. She was familiar with every street and alley in Arkenfall and knew all the various foods there.
