The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 205: Strange Behavior
"Are you having trouble dealing with things?"
Holly Sawyer’s mouth twitched slightly for a while, as she looked at Rose Sawyer and asked, eyes filled with disbelief.
When someone suddenly behaves oddly, it really makes people think a lot.
Rose Sawyer’s beautiful hair had already been cut short, now just shoulder-length, cut very short.
Rose had always been particularly attached to her long hair, never willing to cut it, but now suddenly she resolutely decided to cut it off, which seemed especially strange.
When someone suddenly does something they previously would never do, it’s not possibly a normal thing anymore.
"No, don’t you think my short hair looks pretty?"
Rose took a sip of hot milk, pulled out a mirror to look at her face, and spoke slowly.
The tone was serious, without any emotion, shockingly calm. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"This isn’t about whether it looks good or not."
"Rose, look at me and tell me the truth."
"Don’t try to distract me."
Holly stood in front of Rose, she lightly furrowed her brow, asking seriously.
Her gaze upon Rose was filled with gravity.
Rose was her mother, although they seldom contacted each other, she couldn’t help but care for her own mother.
She was particularly attentive to Rose’s affairs.
Now it wasn’t about whether Rose’s hairstyle was nice or whether she suited this hairstyle, but rather why Rose had this strange behavior.
No one would break their own long-held principles for no reason, and neither would Rose.
"Oh, what could be wrong with me? I’ve eaten more salt than you’ve eaten rice."
Rose yawned, speaking slowly.
Holly stared at Rose unwaveringly.
"Don’t look at me like that, it feels awkward."
Rose changed the TV channel, shifting her gaze to the TV, avoiding looking at Holly.
When someone suddenly behaves oddly, there certainly is a reason; it’s not just a random idea.
Long hair, she’d been attached since childhood, only trimming the ends, not cutting it too short.
This incident just comes as a surprise.
"You know I can go and find out."
Holly poured herself a glass of warm water, spoke slowly.
She cared for Rose, hoping Rose would willingly open up rather than having to find things out this way.
She didn’t like prying into others’ affairs, preferred them being upfront, disliked investigating herself.
"I saw Miles Miller yesterday."
Rose leaned against the sofa, gently closing her eyes, her voice light.
Since leaving Bexley, her connections with Miles Miller had broken, barely meeting, making this encounter quite surprising.
Miles had changed quite a bit, though still recognizable. He greeted her, saying he spotted her at a glance, precisely because of her hair.
He praised her hair as particularly nice, long and black, just like before.
Hair?
Gosh, the guy actually recognized her by her hair, her inner drama was so rich that she wanted to whip out scissors and "click" cut it off.
"So..."
Holly’s mouth twitched slightly, looking at Rose speechlessly.
That’s it?
That’s it?
That’s it?
"Yes, so in case of a future unexpected encounter, he won’t recognize me from behind."
Rose nodded seriously, spoke.
Miles didn’t just assume it was her, he just thought it looked similar, then confirmed it.
She felt nothing for Miles now, but just resisted him, not wanting any association.
Not wanting more connections, she chose this method.
Though she felt sorry for her hair grown so long, cutting it off felt liberating, so it was okay.
"Alright, you’re impressive."
Holly gave Rose a thumbs up, then sat beside Rose watching TV together.
The two spent the whole morning and afternoon watching TV, drinking, snacking, so leisurely.
"Your life is pretty nice."
Rose turned to look at Holly, spoke slowly, clicking her tongue.
"Don’t you already know how I am in winter?"
Holly rolled her eyes at Rose, spoke slowly.
Her peculiar habit, basically everyone knows, so in winter nobody invites her, avoids her unless necessary.
Letting her safely get through winter, reconnecting in spring.
Many have said, she’s like in torpor, occasionally waking, otherwise sleeping.
"Leo Grant doesn’t say anything?"
Rose asked.
She hasn’t contacted much with Leo Grant, just briefly met, so doesn’t know his character well.
Holly: "He doesn’t."
"Does he know I’m here?"
Rose suddenly asked.
Holly shook her head, she hadn’t told Leo Grant yet.
Holly: "Not yet."
Rose: "Then don’t tell him."
Holly: "Why?"
"I just want to see how you two interact, give me your phone, all electronic devices."
Rose reached out to Holly, asking for her phone.
Holly shrugged, handed her phone to Rose, then watched the TV intently.
She wasn’t anxious, Leo treated her well, nothing to hide.
Rose nodded satisfied, just wanting to see Holly and Leo’s interactions, how Leo treated Holly.
That day she was there, but what if Leo was just acting up? Many people perform before elders.
Holly surely seemed clever, but who knows if she’s obsessed with love.
The sound of the door opening rang, Holly’s eyes filled with a smile.
"Today I bought shrimp and spare ribs. I’ll fry shrimp and make sweet and sour ribs for you."
Leo changed shoes at the entrance, calling while doing so, hearing the faint TV sounds inside the living room.
"Does he cook?"
Rose heard, asked Holly.
If so, he’s really great.
Holly nodded.
Rose pushed Holly out, made a "shh" gesture, then continued sitting on the sofa.
"Here, here’s a small cake for you."
Leo handed the small cake to Holly, his voice gentle.
It’s the kind Holly likes.
