The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 180: Alice Is Not a Healer?
[Neraxis’s POV]
[She’s staring at you funny again,] Evangeline warned, clear displeasure in her voice.
But of course, he ignored both Alice and Evangeline, as he was more focused on what was happening below.

Some guy he had never heard of just completely dominated Lar and Asher, two of the more troublesome heroes of the bunch.
Better yet, he did it so effortlessly.
Kyle Oslow... Neraxis thought, leaning back in his chair. Another person who didn’t exist in the past.
Nonetheless, the matches went as he predicted, with Kyle destroying Skryder Academy in every single round. Finally, there were only two people remaining.
Alice, as well as the friend beside her.
"Neraxis?" Aella whispered, getting his attention. "There was a lot of panic earlier. I’m really surprised they continued on with the tournament..."
Neraxis let out a sigh. "Get to the point, Aella."
"You know we can only help you so much when you keep us in the dark," Aella said as she rested her head on his shoulder. "Are those secrets really something you can’t share with anyone?"
Can’t? I obviously can. Neraxis remarked inwardly.
There was just one tiny problem.
Who would believe him?
If he were to tell her he had come back from the future that just so happened to be an alternate dimension altogether, then he would sound crazy.
But even then, if it really meant that much to them, he would share a bit of his past.
"I will tell you after this tournament is over," he stated, patting her head.
"Okay..." Aella replied softly as she closed her eyes.
As for Neraxis, he put his attention back onto the arena.
It was Alice’s turn to fight now, and he was expecting her to lose in an instant.
After all, she was never a fighter.
However, despite those thoughts, she was walking rather confidently.
And soon, the match began.
The girl beside Alice ran forward, strange green tendrils surrounding her arms.
However, despite her potential power, Kyle merely shot off from the ground, leaving behind a mirage as he appeared beside the girl and struck her to the side of the head.
Blood started pouring down her nose, but no one—except for the protective barriers—seemed to mind.
So that girl is out, and only Alice is left. I guess I’ll be fighting... hm? Neraxis tilted his head.
For some reason, a wide smile formed on Alice’s face as she suddenly stretched her hand out.
As she did, a golden weapon materialized, resembling a katana.
Yet the moment she gripped it, an overwhelming force was sent throughout the entire arena, startling Neraxis.
Kyle seemed even more surprised, as he even took a few steps back.
[She’s doing something... Aura?] Evangeline commented, shocked. [I thought she was a healer?]
In my defense, so did I. Neraxis replied as his eyes widened in realization.
She had never practiced swordsmanship. That was one thing he could remember.
Even when a sword was given to her, she lacked the proper stance and power to wield it.
Which meant that, in the month since she came back, Alice had managed to reach a similar degree of swordsmanship as Neraxis—if not even more.
And not even a moment later, he saw Kyle suddenly kneel, blood spurting out from his nose.
Better yet, Neraxis felt like some sort of strange mana had enveloped the entire arena as Alice began taking slow steps toward Kyle.
Kyle’s partner attempted to intercept Alice, but with a mere swing of her katana, she severed the student’s arms.
The protective barrier enveloped the student and began healing him. However, it seemed like Alice wasn’t done, as after approaching Kyle, she lifted his chin up with the tip of her katana.
She opened her mouth to speak, which made Neraxis focus mana into his ears to hear everything.
"Kyle Oslow. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Alice, and I have a proposal."
"Who do you think you are to do this to me?" Kyle shot back arrogantly.
"Feisty, I like that." Alice giggled before putting on a serious look. "I want you."
"I have a girlfriend, you sadistic bitch." Kyle scoffed. "I don’t know what you did to my body, but I’m going to forfei—"
"Nope~" Alice put her hands on his mouth. "I want you to listen to my proposal, and after that, I want you to make a rational decision, Kyle Oslow."
He roughly nodded in response since he couldn’t say anything.
"Great," Alice remarked with a smile, when all of a sudden, some kind of golden barrier appeared around the two of them, completely blocking out sound as well as vision.
"Aella, can your tracker pick up sound from inside?" Neraxis asked hurriedly.
"I... No, it seems like the connection was fully severed. She destroyed the tracker," Aella replied with an annoyed sigh. "Who does she think she is to go around destroying my gadgets?"
"That’s not good," Neraxis grumbled, and not even a few seconds later, the barrier fell.
However, instead of Kyle’s previously hateful expression, there was a look of almost shock.
Neraxis saw Kyle nod a couple more times, each nod shaky, as he finally stood up from the ground.
"I forfeit."
The crowd immediately rang out in cheers, shaking nearly the entire arena.
—What just happened!?
—K-Kyle lost!? How...
—Alice! Alice! Alice!
<MVP: Alice D. Windsom>
That shouldn’t have happened, Neraxis thought with furrowed brows.
However, the match was still on. Therefore, he waited for the Aleus Academy to make their moves downward.
But even after a few minutes, no one came.
Soon, an announcement rang out.
—The second round of the tournament is over! Skryder Academy proceeds forward, and Aleus Academy gets eliminated! There will be no breaks this time as the matches were all fast. Therefore, buckle up—the next round will start in just a few minutes!
The entire Aleus Academy forfeited. Neraxis thought, a conflicted look appearing on his face.
Alice seemed satisfied and put away her katana before heading back to her seat.

As for Kyle, he flashed Alice one more look before leaving as well.
All in all, Neraxis assumed she managed to convince him somehow.
Despite that, the next matches were up, and he practically didn’t pay any attention to them.
He was lost in thought, and before he knew it, two more rounds passed, with Antares Academy and Luminara Academy coming out on top.
Funnily enough, the Antares Academy dealt with Dark affinity magic, whereas the Luminara Academy dealt with Light affinity.
But in the end, Neraxis couldn’t understand why they separated students based on their affinity, as it greatly reduced their numbers.
Nonetheless, it was about time for the fifth round to begin, and he would be fighting someone from one of these academies.
Yet despite his initial thoughts, something else happened entirely.
—The first bracket of the tournament is over! We will be switching to Capture the Flag for this bracket, and the final bracket will be a surprise! Unlike last time, the teams are randomized. Therefore... Havenspire Academy versus Luminara Academy and Antares Academy versus Skryder Academy!
Neraxis took in the information with surprise, and soon, the last of the announcement arrived.
—Given how taxing the last rounds were, we will resume this tournament tomorrow! The participants as well as the spectators are free to leave now!
A day off... Neraxis pondered as he met eyes with Alice.
She smiled at him mischievously and soon made her way out of the arena, followed by the lifeless Lar and Asher.
As for Neraxis?
He needed a different approach.
