The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 381: New System Companion
Chapter 381: New System Companion
After a surprisingly short time, he was done extracting all of Lagus’s mana from the status screen.
Only 10 years had passed this time, and he was starting to think that it was a blessing he had this space in the first place.
After all, if he didn’t, then everyone he knew would already be dead.
And he, for one, didn’t want to be immortal unless he made others immortal as well.
Nonetheless, his status screen was now colorless, devoid of mana, and basically a blank slate.
But because of it being a blank slate, he could feel the connection it had with him.
And of course, that connection didn’t belong to Lagus in the slightest.
It was like a natural thread formed by the universe, or that was at least what he assumed.
But despite that, Neraxis focused on the Void itself and navigated it straight into his empty status screen.
It flickered a few times before finally taking a golden color.
And once again, the system screen lit up.
But it was a little different this time.
<Systematic Interface setup has commenced!>
<Do you wish to impose any limits on the powers of individuals under your special system interface? Yes/No>
"No...?"
Another pop-up appeared.
<Do you wish to create a Soul Core tying you to the system? By doing so, you may evade death at the cost of being tied down to this system, and this system only. Yes/No>
Neraxis shook his head. "No."
And for the last time, a few pop-ups appeared.
<You have chosen not to anchor yourself to the system!>
<Choose system type:> 1. Interactive 2. Sentient 3. Simple 4. Recommended: Same preset as the user’s last system.
Neraxis stared at the pop-up, puzzled.
He wasn’t sure what the system types were, yet when he focused on them, he got some information.
Interactive: You may adjust your stats accordingly. Your strength is bound to levels. You may not die unless your HP reaches 0. +Basic configuration.
Sentient: Your system becomes a sentient being. They share a portion of your personality and may develop however you teach them. May lock their personality once the user is satisfied with its state. +Basic configuration.
Simple: +Basic configuration.
Recommended: Simple system type.
Hmm... so many choices, Neraxis mused.
Interactive was definitely a no-go—he didn’t like it one bit.
Sentient seemed interesting, and probably the best of them all...
But do I really want to change types when I already have something good going for myself? Neraxis mused. I have the strength, and I definitely don’t know if I can trust a sentient being.
Yet as he glanced back at the option again, he noticed that it said the sentient system would share a portion of his own personality.
So after thinking for a few minutes, Neraxis decided to simply wing it.
Worst-case scenario, he would just need to delete the system and try again.
<Ding!>
<You’ve selected: Sentient>
<Calculating time... 14,934 years...>
"..."
<Just kidding.>
Neraxis’s brows furrowed as he tilted his head. "It’s already done?"
<Indeed, host. Give me a task so I don’t laze around like you.>
"...Open my status screen?"
<With pleasure.>

It looks the same? Neraxis mused.
He was fully expecting skills to be wiped or something along those lines, but it was literally all the same.
But that was good, that meant he didn’t really make a mistake.
And the only addition was a talking system Neraxis.
Yet its squeaky voice was a bit...
<I’m not so bad, am I?>
"Who knows?" Neraxis shrugged. "So what can you do exactly?"
<Nothing that you don’t allow me to do. I can manage your skills if you’d like. I can display their cooldown in your vision and... yeah, I can’t really do much to help you.>
"So you’re useless... got it." Neraxis sighed.
<Hey. You’re my creator. You’re supposed to be all-powerful and not in need of help from some lowly system such as myself. I’m supposed to exist and help those lower beings. Having a talking system companion such as myself would help them a ton!>
Neraxis wanted to disagree, but system him was right.
Though it’s best if he gave it a name of sorts.
Rather...
"Do you have a name in mind?" Neraxis asked. "Or do you want me to name you?"
<Usually, the master names the system, yes.>
"You didn’t answer my question," Neraxis remarked. "I asked whether you have a name in mind."
A moment of silence ensued, but it was soon broken by the system’s sigh.
<Very well... I was bottling this up, but... The Sovereign of Death and Destruction, Hell King and Lord of Lords, Raguel.>
"..."
"Just Raguel will do," Neraxis said flatly.
It seemed like it inherited the chuuni part of his memories—or he’d like to think so, at least.
For all he knew, this was just the automatic setting.
<But what’s wrong with the name I picked? Huh? Master... do you think it’s stupid?>
"If you’ve inherited a part of my personality, then you should already know the answer to that," Neraxis replied with a chuckle as he turned to the side.
He split open the Void again and stepped out.
He reappeared in the streets of some city in his main world, and immediately, he could see people pulling out their phones, some even pulling out guns.
—I-It’s him! C-Call the government!
—What the fuck do you mean call the government!? Just get his ass!
<Immortal... I shall awaken my inner... demon.>
"Don’t butt in." Neraxis rolled his eyes at Raguel’s actions.
But it was fine.
After all, this reaction meant that people were now able to see him.
So now...
It was time to say hello to those he hadn’t seen in ages.
