Chapter 383: Turning Back Time

The two navigated the empty streets as they approached one house in particular.

It was extremely luxurious, basically a mansion.

Neraxis took a deep breath and walked through the front door, which had already been opened.

The living room was spotless, and so was the rest of the house—which was only natural for a person who had to be nursed at nearly all times.

William didn’t even have the strength to go inside, and rightfully so, since the closer Neraxis got to the master bedroom, the stronger the stench became.

And when he finally swung open the door, he was met with the expected sight.

A woman who looked like a slightly older Celina, or what was left of her, anyways.

<This is... disturbing,> Raguel commented. <I never thought—>

[Shut up, Raguel,] Evangeline chimed in. [You don’t need to state the obvious. I’m Evangeline, by the way.]

<I know who you are very well, in the same way you know too. Did you scan through his memories like you always do?> Raguel replied calmly.

[Of course I did. He lets me, and if he didn’t, then I wouldn’t be checking them in the first place,] Evangeline affirmed.

That was indeed the case, since she had once asked whether or not her reading his memories disturbed him.

And he answered with a simple no, as was expected.

Even so, he put those thoughts to the back of his mind as he filtered through the chatter.

He closed his eyes, then focused on the air itself, twisting it.

However, he didn’t feel like he was making any progress. For one, he didn’t even know what he was doing.

But that changed when Raguel let out a chuckle.

<This is where I come in, dear master.>

With those odd words, a bout of pop-ups appeared, causing Neraxis’s eyes to widen.

<Skill: Time Manipulation (Origin) has been found inside your mind!>

<Insufficient proficiency to learn the skill!>

<Learning sub-branch...>

<Ding!>

<Rewind (Primordial)>

Effect: Rewind time in a selected area by 1 minute.

<Ding!>

<User’s mana capacity is overwhelmingly high, upgrading the skill and its effects.>

<Rewind (Eternal)>

Effect: Rewind time in a selected area by 24 hours.

He took a deep breath and focused.

He activated the skill right away, and to his surprise, a chunk of memories came flooding inside his mind.

They seemed simple at first, but with each passing moment, he gained more and more understanding over the Time element.

Until eventually, his hands glowed a translucent golden color, and he soon tapped the air.

His Void realm reacted, and almost like a conduit, it absorbed the Time Mana Neraxis had conjured before spitting it out right at Celina’s mother.

In the very next instant, the entire room began to change—or rather, turn back how it used to be.

The process happened extremely fast, and by that moment, he saw Celina’s mother’s skin begin to glow, until eventually...

"Cough... cough!" she grasped her chest, clearly in pain as she looked around, confused.

But soon, her gaze met his, and she couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.

"An angel has come to claim me... well... at least you’re hot," she remarked, stretching out her hands. "Do with me what you will, just make sure it’s not as painful as last time... cough."

Neraxis ignored her comment as he stepped closer and tapped on her chin, freezing it in place.

"O-Oh... dear angel, why are you so..."

<Hahahaha! What a fascinating twist!> Raguel burst out laughing.

[Shuut up! I’m listening,] Evangeline said with a pout. [But damn, Neraxis. Even Celina’s mother has the hots for you... shit... I said that one out loud, be right back.]

He ignored the two again and poured his blood down her throat, guiding it so she wouldn’t choke.

And soon, the familiar pop-up appeared.

<How much power would you like to share?>

<High Solarian Vampire: 25%>

<Solarian Vampire: 10%>

<Lesser Solarian Vampire: 2%>

<Ding!>

<High Solarian Vampire: 25% has been chosen!>

<Notice: The ritual has commenced!>

Immediately, her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she passed out.

In the meantime, Neraxis went around and cleaned her room.

And of course, he made sure to also prepare some breakfast—or rather, dinner at this point.

He could sense William hovering around the house, but he didn’t get closer. It was almost like he was purposefully avoiding it in fear of something happening.

But if he went ahead and checked for her again, then he’d realize that she was no longer dead.

But alas, Neraxis would just wait until it was over.

An hour passed, and this was by far the longest time it took someone to transform.

But he attributed it to her being severely injured.

He brought the eggs and bacon inside her room and sat down by her bed.

She was breathing regularly, and from her much straighter spine, it was likely that she could walk now.

Even her legs, that were previously like sticks, regained their regular splendor.

And of course, with that came a new pop-up.

<The Solarian Vampire Family>

<Progenitor: Neraxis Valen>

<Firstborn Solarian Vampire: Aurelia Solis>

<High Solarian Vampire: Cellina Whiltfrow, Lana Elarin, Rara Elarin>

<Lesser Solarian Vampire: Cade Yang (Dead), Alice D. Windsom (Dead)>

It was growing a bit tiresome to see the dead people in his list, so with a mere thought, he deleted them.

The interface seemed cleaner already.

At the same time, it seemed like William finally got the courage to enter the house as he tippy-toed over to where they were.

Just as it seemed like he had actually grown some balls, William went ahead and ran backwards before teleporting away.

Neraxis tracked him thoroughly and saw that William appeared inside a pub, sat down beside some stranger, and stole his alcohol, then downed it in an instant.

Naturally, that landed him a punch across his face, which soon turned into a full-blown bar fight.

But just as Neraxis was about to go ahead and teleport William back, Celina’s mother’s fingers twitched, which meant she was going to wake up soon.

So he simply fixed his posture on the chair and crossed his legs.

Then, he simply waited.
