The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 96: A Date
"A-A Date!? Mom!" Elara’s startled voice rang out as she ran straight to the kitchen.
Shit... I should have just kept quiet. Neraxis lamented and quickly went to his room to find a spare set of nice clothes.
Surprisingly, he did not have a lot of clothes despite his riches, but even then, after just a few minutes of looking around, he found a nice black designer jacket as well as some dark jeans.
Should be good enough, and I still have plenty of time to spare, he mused with a smile.
At first, they wanted to go to some restaurant immediately after coming back, but after taking one good look at themselves, they soon decided on a few hours later instead.
Therefore, Neraxis went directly into the shower, using the all-in-one shampoo he had picked up out of habit, and quickly changed into his date clothes.
However, as his confidence was brimming and he turned the doorknob to leave the room, a fierce glare met his sight.
"Young man," his mother said slowly, making Neraxis flinch.
"What’s this I hear about you going on a date and not even telling your mother?"
"Mo—"
Before he could speak, she interjected, putting a finger to her lips.
"Shhh. Mom is speaking. Also, what is this you are wearing? Are you planning on going to a nightclub? Do you care so little about your date?"
What’s wrong with my clothes?

Yet he was met with dismissal again. "Don’t you furrow your brows at me, mister."
At this point, Neraxis decided to just shut up—there was no use trying to argue against his mother.
And once she noticed that fact, Sophia nodded in satisfaction. "Good. Elara, call over the finest tailors on the continent. Tell them it’s emergency code 05. They will understand."
"Roger, Mom!" Elara saluted and ran downstairs, leaving the puzzled Neraxis behind, as well as his smirking mother.
I should have just kept my mouth shut...

<Celina: Really? You managed to get a reservation for that restaurant on such short notice?>
He chuckled, lying down comfortably in the backseat of his limousine, before replying.
<Neraxis: My mom went overboard and kind of got it done. I was thinking simple, so I hope you don’t mind it.>
It did not take even a moment for him to receive a reply.
<Celina: No, it’s fine. I’ve been there a couple of times with my mom in the past. The food is pretty tasty, and that’s all that matters in the end. You don’t have to come pick me up—I’m already heading there right now.>
Raising a brow, he sent the final message.
<Neraxis: See you there.>
He felt a little nervous, as, after all, this would be his first date in both timelines.
Even if it was unintended, he planned on making it feel special for Celina—but his clothing might be a bit overboard.
The emergency code 05 his mother was referring to appeared to be the emergency code for Neraxis getting a date.
[It’s pretty thoughtful, and honestly, they fixed you up pretty well. Ironed out your clothes and added a few more layers while still keeping most of what you had on intact. They are great tailors,] Evangeline remarked with a giggle.
True. I just wonder what I will even talk to her about. The only times we’ve spoken are when we sparred against each other. Or, well, when she continuously teased me. Neraxis pondered with a conflicted look.
Yet his thoughts were cut short as the limousine soon stopped, with his butler stepping out and opening the door for him.
The people around thought Neraxis was a celebrity, but he ignored them, waiting for Celina to arrive.
However, even after several minutes of waiting, she was nowhere to be seen.
Did she bail on me?
But a sudden nudge in his side quickly dismissed those thoughts.
"Hey, you ignored my text," Celina stated with an ominous smile, making Neraxis pick up the phone to check it.
Before he could, however, she stopped him, winking at him. "Check it after we are done."
"Sure," Neraxis replied with an amused look and soon took in her appearance.
She had a black, tight-fitting dress that spanned down to her ankles, accentuating her curves to perfection.
At the same time, the little amount of makeup she had put on made her look even more stunning than before.
He was speechless at the sight, but standing around like an idiot wasn’t going to do any good.
"Celina, I love yo—"
"You love me?" she interjected, eyes widening as her cheeks slightly reddened.
Your dress... Shit. Neraxis inwardly facepalmed, unsure of how to come back from the situation he had put himself in.
"I love how you look—this black dress really suits you," he clarified, but that seemed to make the blush on her face grow even more.
[Pfft... A real smooth talker,] Evangeline commented, to which he paid no mind.
Nonetheless, what was supposed to be a casual date turned out to be some luxurious rich-people outing.
Therefore, Neraxis held out his hand. "Shall we?"
And Celina steadily accepted, placing her hand on his, as they walked into the restaurant.
They were practically being escorted, with all the waiters and waitresses making way, cleaning the tables as they went, until the two arrived at their prepared table.
However, the size wasn’t what he expected.
"...Is this really our table?" Neraxis couldn’t help but voice out to the nearby waiter.
"It is on Madam Sophia’s orders, I’m afraid. All other tables are unavailable as the restaurant has been booked by an anonymous individual," the waiter steadily replied.
So my mother not only got us a table that would make us sit a meter apart but also bought out the entire restaurant... just great. He sighed inwardly.
"The menu has already been prepared, and we’ll bring it out in exactly five minutes," the waiter stated, placing down a clock on the small table, and the five minutes soon began ticking down.
However, at the same time, the waiter lit up the lone candle that sat to the side, its aroma spreading and reaching their noses instantly.
Strawberries, huh? Neraxis remarked inwardly, and as the waiters left, he went over and pulled the chair back for Celina.
She silently went over and sat down, and he followed.
But it seemed like the silence extended a bit longer, as neither of them said a single word for the first couple of minutes.
That was until Celina’s low muttering resounded. "I love your looks too... your clothes are a bit impractical but... I mean... never mind." she finished with a massive blush on her face.
"It’s awkward, right? I’ve never been on a date before either." Neraxis tried lightening up the mood, which seemed to work as they made eye contact.
"Yeah... I’m not very used to being so out in the open like this—it makes me feel a little vulnerable," Celina said with a slight fidget, which he didn’t expect.
"Oh? Well, don’t worry—you can be as vulnerable as you want around me. Especially in this moment," Neraxis said with a soft smile, before slightly leaning in.
"After all, it’s only the two of us here. The others are mere spectators."
That seemed to completely make her lower her guard, which was also the first time he had seen her so... relaxed.
And the effortless smile, which could captivate the hearts of all.
Beautiful.
"Neraxis?" Celina suddenly spoke, her eyes growing softer as she leaned in as well, their noses practically touching.
"Yeah?" he questioned, not backing away, meeting her crimson-red eyes.
"I’m happy I had this chance to go on this... date with you."
Neraxis felt like her expression was simply too cute, so instinctively, he reached over to Celina’s head and gently patted her.
For a slight moment, it seemed like she would dodge, but once she realized the intent, Celina let it happen, marking the last few seconds of their five minutes completely alone.
And soon, the waiters returned, wheeling around several service trolleys with food stacked on them, which they parked near their table. Continue your saga on novelbuddy
"Madam Sophia has personally prepared these dishes, with our chefs assisting her," the head waiter stated, setting a tray on their table.
But when he lifted it, Neraxis froze in place, feeling the embarrassment growing inside him.
Mother... Just what are you thinking...?
