The Strongest Beast Tamer With the Strongest System-Chapter 69: Lovesick
Red marks from his lips appeared on Margaret’s neck, standing out clearly against her pale skin.
She turned to look at Leonardo, her cheeks slightly flushed, yet her gaze remained calm.
"Why am I starting to feel like you actually love me?" she said.
"Oh? Is that so?" Leonardo knew she was just talking nonsense.
His hand slipped inside her pajamas, even going past her bra to squeeze the soft fullness beneath.
Margaret tried to hide her expression, but it was obvious she couldn’t, even as she pressed her lips together.
What mattered was that she didn’t resist him. Leonardo didn’t care what she was thinking.
Instead, she became bolder. A smile appeared on her lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"In my personal opinion, Leonardo, you’re the most handsome man in our school. That’s what I’ve thought even before everything between us," she said.
"Is that honesty?" Leonardo asked with a hint of sarcasm.
He was indeed handsome, but certainly not the most.
"I don’t need to lie about that. Of course, it’s just my personal taste. Every woman has different preferences. I like men who are handsome and have a strong physique. In my eyes, you’re quite perfect." She touched his firm arm, feeling the dense muscles and prominent veins.
"So before I awakened, did you ever think about me?"
"I’m a normal woman, like I said. Thoughts like that naturally come up sometimes, though I never thought that far. At the very least, I intended to let you live a normal life after taking your class."
"A normal life in prison, you mean?"
"That was because I was angry that you dared to oppose me. You know my personality. A poor man daring to challenge me—I was blinded by anger. But I think even if that happened and my anger faded, I would’ve released you and offered you a job so you could live well. It’s just a natural bias toward someone attractive, not kindness."
"Aren’t I still challenging you now?" Leonardo asked.
"Things have changed. You struck back at me hard. I was even impressed by you... But what’s wrong with all this? It led us here, and I’m enjoying it. I’m even happy. I know that even if you’re still cynical toward me, you’re happy to have me—Margaret Harvey."
"This wouldn’t have happened if we were still normal humans."
"Not necessarily... If we were normal, like before the Awakener Era, I wouldn’t be this obsessed with power. I’m not the type to look down on someone just because they’re poor, even if I bully them. A poor man with looks I like, diligent in school, showing good character... I might have fallen for him. You know my father—if you showed good potential, he wouldn’t reject you."
Margaret laughed softly before continuing,
"Maybe it’s better to believe in fate—that a person’s partner is destined from the moment they’re created. No matter the circumstances, that person won’t change. I think there are many scenarios where we would still end up together... whether my family went bankrupt and we became neighbors in a slum, or you became successful enough to match me. Even if you ended up in prison after taking my class, it would still be possible."
"Really? Why does that sound like rhetoric?"
"You don’t need to think about it..."
"I’m too lazy to anyway."
Leonardo grew tired of talking and kissed her. Margaret responded, their lips pressing together as they gently sucked on each other’s lips.
Soon, their tongues intertwined.
No need for feelings or truth—kissing her gave Leonardo a sensation far beyond anything he had felt with Elsa or Mary.
Maybe because her mouth was just too good at saying nonsense.
Their kiss only broke when they ran out of breath. Margaret smiled afterward and hugged his shoulders.
"I want to hear you call me ’darling,’" she said in a soft, spoiled tone.
"Why don’t you start first?" Leonardo replied.
"It’s still embarrassing, hehe... How about you take me to your room? I want to stay like this until tomorrow."
"Let’s just sleep here," Leonardo said.
In the bedroom, he’d only get frustrated.
But now, he wasn’t afraid of her being beside him while he slept.
The Diamond Bones ensured she couldn’t harm him with any tricks.
They didn’t just make his body impenetrable—they also resisted all kinds of harmful toxins.
They would activate automatically if he was in danger.
Everything would only work if he allowed it.
Otherwise, even alcohol wouldn’t make him drunk.
To hurt him would require powerful weapons and strength far above his.
Margaret, on the other hand, was no longer that far above him.
"That’s fine..." Margaret didn’t mind sleeping in the living room.
The sofa was big enough for them to lie down together as long as they held each other.
Leonardo lay down, pulling Margaret into his arms. She happily nestled against him.
For some reason, Leonardo fell asleep easily.
His sleep was deep and peaceful, his breathing steady as he inhaled her fragrant scent.
The next morning, when he woke up, Margaret was still in his arms.
She had woken up earlier but stayed there, smiling when he opened his eyes.
"Good morning," she said.
"No one would believe you could care about a man like this," Leonardo replied.
"That’s just the narrow view of people who overvalue wealth and power. You have no idea how comfortable I feel sleeping with my boyfriend... So, what do you want for breakfast? If you want me to feed you too, I will. I’m completely lovestruck right now. So this is what it feels like... the strongest urge in my mind and heart is to make you happy."
Leonardo, "..."
"Alright, just toast with cheese spread and a warm milk coffee," Leonardo replied, not in the mood for something that took too long to prepare.
He was a bit hungry now since he hadn’t eaten since yesterday afternoon.
"Of course. Just wait and watch TV. Don’t follow me to the kitchen, or I won’t be able to cook peacefully."
Margaret immediately stood up.
To Leonardo’s surprise, she kissed his cheek before heading to the kitchen, leaving him stunned as he touched his cheek.
Could it be that this woman had really fallen for him?
It certainly felt that way, and it was hard to say he felt uncomfortable with her affection.
It was simply too comfortable... and too pleasant.
