Chapter 568: Chapter 580: On a Business Trip with Sarah Utah

On the flight to V Region, Sarah Utah sat side by side with James Brown. Sarah looked at James with concern and said, "Big Brother Brown, are you feeling unwell?"

James opened his eyes, his face still showing some fatigue. He smiled and said, "It’s nothing, I’m just fine."

"Look at you, you seem totally drained, are you sick?" Sarah restrained her impulse to touch James’s forehead.

James shook his head and said, "I just didn’t sleep well last night."

Yesterday during the day, James had a spontaneous encounter with Alice Brown. It was Alice’s first time with James, and it was thrilling, even though it didn’t last long, it was gentle enough to make James very satisfied. Later that night at Helen Wilson’s place, Helen was even more relentless, having multiple encounters with him. If it weren’t for James’s endurance, Helen couldn’t have kept up.

But when he got home at night, knowing he would be away for a few days, his wife Gina Lopez also needed attention. Even though James had spent the previous day elsewhere, he couldn’t just ignore his duties at home, otherwise, it would seem like he was doing something bad outside. So he also gave Gina a good time.

In the end, James had intimate encounters with three people in one day, especially with Helen Wilson, who nearly drained him out completely. Each time James wanted to stop, Helen would find ways to excite him once more. It was exhausting for James, and if he didn’t have such great stamina, he might not have been able to get out of bed today.

Although he couldn’t bring himself to talk about such things with Helen Wilson.

"You should take a good nap. I’ll wake you once we reach V Region," Sarah said considerately, then asked the flight attendant for a blanket to cover James’s legs.

James didn’t resist; he closed his eyes and soon fell asleep. Sarah only woke him up when they reached V Region.

After sleeping for an hour and a half, James felt much better. At least in Sarah’s eyes, he had returned to normal, which eased her worries.

At the airport exit, someone was holding a sign with Sarah’s and James’s names on it. They were from a local machinery factory in V Region. To the factory, James and Sarah were important clients, so they naturally gave them a warm reception.

Meeting Sarah and James were a man and a woman. The man was the deputy general manager of the machinery factory, and the woman was his secretary. This machinery factory had assets over a billion, so even the deputy general manager held a significant position. Coming to greet Sarah and James showed how much they valued the opportunity.

The deputy general manager was named William Connors. In his forties, he was shrewd and efficient, appearing extremely enthusiastic. He first took James and Sarah to a hotel, and while booking the rooms, he asked with a smile, "Manager Michael, Manager Johnson, would you prefer one room or two?"

With James and Sarah being a man and a woman together, it was easy for others to assume they had a close relationship. Otherwise, why would they go out together? Plus, it wasn’t uncommon for colleagues to have some flirtation or things happening during business trips, hence his question.

Sarah’s face turned beet red, and she quickly replied, "Two rooms, two rooms!"

William observed Sarah’s shy glance at James before she spoke. Not irritated or displeased, she only seemed bashful, which confirmed to him that there was indeed something between them, albeit not something they’d readily admit in front of him. He did not press further and said with a chuckle, "Two rooms it is then, our company isn’t shy about spending a little extra for hospitality."

They were arranged in two adjoining rooms. Although not presidential suites, they were quite luxurious. Each had a separate living area and an opulent bedroom, with exquisite furnishings, making the cost for a night there quite high.

"Please take a rest. We’ve arranged lunch for you, and I’ll come to fetch you later. Our company’s president will also be there to welcome you."

Sarah and James had taken a 6 AM flight, and by the time they checked into the hotel, it was just 9 AM. It was too early for lunch, so letting them rest for a bit was quite thoughtful.

James and Sarah each went to their respective rooms. James had only brought a few clothes, so it didn’t take him long to get settled. He then relaxed on the comfortable sofa in the living room and turned on the TV.

After a while, a knock came at the door. James went to open it, and there was Sarah, smiling, "All settled?"

"Not much to settle. There’s nothing to do at this point. Big Brother Brown, would you mind if I came over to chat with you?"

"How could I mind? It’s my pleasure to chat with a beautiful woman like Sarah."

Sarah gave a sweet smile and entered the room. James casually closed the door and joined Sarah on the sofa.

Though they said they were going to chat, as they sat there, both were silent, unsure what to say.

"Big Brother Brown!"

"Sarah!"

After a while, both spoke up at the same time, causing them to laugh, breaking the awkwardness between them. James laughed, "You start."

Sarah pursed her lips and smiled, "This is my first time going on a business trip with Big Brother Brown, I’m a bit nervous."

James laughed, "What’s there to be nervous about? We’re just here for work."

"I know, but do you think we’ll be successful this time? I heard their company is really big. I’m afraid they might take advantage and not lower their prices for us."

"Their company might be big, but ours isn’t small either, with assets totaling five billion. We can definitely stand our own ground."

Talking about the company made James suddenly think of Lucy Campbell. He wondered why someone like Lucy, who had so much capital, was so hands-off. If it weren’t for him, he couldn’t fathom the reason behind it.

"Big Brother Brown, why do you think Mr. Smith set up this company? He’s such a big figure; if he wanted to start a company, he should have done it in a big city, yet he started it here in YODC City and doesn’t even manage it. I’ve never seen a boss like that."

James was thinking about Lucy Campbell, and Sarah brought her up, making him cough lightly and say, "Who can truly understand the mind of someone like that? As employees, as long as we get our salaries and do our jobs well, that’s enough."

Sarah earnestly said, "Since Mr. Smith entrusts us with so much responsibility, we should live up to his expectations. I want to achieve something significant."

James smiled at Sarah and said, "Sarah, why are you trying so hard? You’re just a girl."

Meeting James’s gaze, Sarah said, "I’m not trying too hard. Everyone needs to work to support themselves. I’m earning this salary, so naturally, I should work hard. Besides, the company’s benefits are great now, so I want to work even harder. If I don’t perform well and the company stops making money, I won’t have such good benefits later on."

Sarah wasn’t always so ambitious but became more diligent after she started having feelings for James. She viewed Gina Lopez as a model for what she wanted to become, believing James admired Gina’s capabilities. She thought if she could develop similar abilities, perhaps James would like her too.

Even if she wanted James to like her, she never expected him to divorce Gina and be with her. Love doesn’t necessarily mean possession. As long as she could quietly care for him, see him often, and talk to him, that was happiness to her. Others might not understand, but Sarah firmly believed in this.

James chuckled, "Sweet girl, you’ve only seen Gina’s success. You haven’t seen her struggles. She’s always busy at the office and often brings that work home, leaving hardly any time to relax."

Sarah promptly said, "So Mr. Lopez hardly has any time with you?"

"Pretty much, even when she’s home, she’s still working."

"Big Brother Brown, do you have any complaints about that?"

"Not really. Since she’s so driven, I just take care of home matters more. I actually enjoy this relaxed lifestyle. If I had to worry about work all the time like you, I couldn’t handle it."

Sarah continued to look at James, "But being together, you should at least watch movies, and have some romantic dinners, right?"

"Well... not really. I’ve never watched a movie with Gina, and we rarely dine out. Hehe, they all prefer my cooking, so we eat at home most of the time."

"I’ve heard Big Brother Brown cooks well, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. I hope to one day."

"No problem. When there’s time, come to our place for a meal. I’ll cook for you. One more won’t hurt."

"Great, great!" Sarah exclaimed excitedly but then added bashfully, "But wouldn’t that be improper, going to the boss’s house for a meal? What if Mr. Lopez is unhappy?"

James laughed, "There’s nothing to be unhappy about. We often have people over for meals. Lucy Campbell visits when she’s in YODC City, and Emily Jenkins has had more meals at our place than eating out in an entire year."

Thinking about his home, it does feel like a big dining hall, filled with beautiful women. For some reason, he seemed destined to be surrounded by them lately.
