Chapter 570: Chapter 582: Charity Dinner

John Brown carried Sarah Utah on his back and did some checks. The final result was a relief for both John Brown and Sarah Utah; it was just a muscle strain that would heal after a few days of rest.

However, during these days, Sarah Utah definitely couldn’t move around freely.

The mechanical company felt deeply sorry and even bought Sarah Utah some items. Yet, Sarah Utah didn’t care at all, as it was merely an accident caused by the taxi cutting lanes and speeding.

Besides, her foot was sprained, but John Brown carried her around the hospital, making her feel indescribably happy.

After returning to the hotel, John Brown carried Sarah Utah directly to her room and laid her on the bed. He initially wanted to keep her company, but Sarah Utah said to John Brown, "Big Brother Brown, why don’t you head back?"

"Me leave? You alone?" John Brown looked at Sarah Utah, puzzled.

"I’ll be fine on my own, no need for you." Sarah Utah’s face flushed red as she urgently said, "Big Brother Brown, just leave quickly."

Not knowing what Sarah Utah was up to, John Brown felt it inappropriate to linger after she asked him to leave, lest he seemed like he had ulterior motives. So, he stood up and walked out. But just as he reached the doorway and hadn’t closed the room door yet, he heard a cry from inside, rushed back in, and saw Sarah Utah had fallen to the ground, her hands supporting her, looking pained.

"What happened? Are you okay?" John Brown hurriedly rushed over and picked Sarah Utah up.

"I’m... fine." Being lifted by John Brown felt quite different from being carried, causing Sarah Utah to lower her head in embarrassment.

"Oh, I get it now. You wanted to go to the bathroom, didn’t you?" John Brown suddenly realized and asked.

Sarah Utah buried her head in John Brown’s chest, humming without reply, tacitly admitting it.

John Brown couldn’t help but smile, saying, "You should’ve told me if you wanted to go to the bathroom, why insist on kicking me out?" Picking up Sarah Utah, he headed to the bathroom.

"Big Brother Brown..." Seeing him carry her directly inside, Sarah Utah was startled, not knowing what to do.

John Brown laughed, "Don’t worry, I’ll bring you in, you can manage yourself, then I’ll carry you out. I won’t peek, so there’s nothing to be embarrassed about."

Sarah Utah’s face reddened further, letting John Brown carry her to the bathroom. He placed her beside the toilet and promptly left.

Sarah Utah didn’t care whether John Brown was outside and hurriedly unbuttoned her pants. After she was done, she felt so embarrassed she wished she could disappear, unwilling to call John Brown.

"Finished?" John Brown asked from the doorway.

Feeling even more awkward, Sarah Utah had barely buttoned her pants when John Brown called out, meaning he heard everything, making it exceedingly embarrassing. Nonetheless, she timidly responded.

John Brown immediately reopened the door, walked in, and carried Sarah Utah up, saying, "Look at you, so shy now. Everyone has urgent needs; it’s perfectly normal. Besides, the restrooms are unisex at places. Why wouldn’t you encounter men?"

"But... but..." Unable to articulate further, Sarah Utah felt embarrassed having John Brown waiting outside while she was inside.

"No need for ’but’s. I’m with you. You’ve been injured, of course, I have to take care of you." John Brown laughed, gently putting her back on the bed.

Lying on the bed, Sarah Utah blushed, avoiding eye contact with John Brown.

"Alright, you’re the patient now, and I’m looking after you. No need to overthink. Do you want to do anything else? Should I turn on the TV so we can watch?"

"Okay." Sarah Utah agreed.

John Brown turned on the TV, returned, and propped up a pillow for Sarah Utah to lean on for added comfort.

Sarah Utah didn’t refuse John Brown this time and let him tend to her. Her gaze frequently darted to him, feeling immensely fortunate being cared for in this way. She couldn’t count how many times she imagined being with John Brown, and today her dream unexpectedly came true, making her so overwhelmed that she didn’t know how to react.

"What are you looking at? Is there a flower on my face?" John Brown teased Sarah Utah.

"Ah!" Embarrassed by his discovery, Sarah turned crimson.

John Brown burst into a hearty laugh. Sometimes Sarah was bold, announcing publicly during Brown’s incident that she’d wait for him, yet embarrassed when together privately—such a charming girl.

With his laugh, Sarah Utah grew more flustered, lightly tapping John Brown and playfully remarked, "Big Brother Brown, you’re so mean, teasing me."

John Brown stifled his laughter, beaming, "Sarah, you’re adorable. How could I tease you?"

"Then... why were you smiling so happily just now?"

"I just feel happy seeing you like this. Alright, be a good girl and watch some TV. I’ll take care of you here tonight."

"What? You’re... you’re staying here tonight too?" Sarah Utah’s eyes widened as she looked at John Brown, a hint of panic in her eyes.

"What are you thinking?" John Brown gently tapped Sarah Utah on the head and said with a smile, "I said I’d take care of you here until you fall asleep, then I’ll go back to sleep myself."

Sarah’s face turned as red as an apple, and she stammered, "Big Brother Brown, I... I... I didn’t mean anything else."

"I know, don’t be embarrassed. If you need to get up at night, just call me and I’ll come over to help."

"Okay!" Sarah softly agreed, but her heart was surrounded by happiness.

The two watched TV for a while, and John Brown even poured water for Sarah and got some fruit. He really took care of her attentively.

"Big Brother Brown, Sister Gina is really lucky." Sarah ate half a mango and looked at John Brown.

"Why do you say that?" John Brown asked with a smile.

Sarah said dreamily, "The way you take care of people, of course, Sister Gina is happy. It’s rare for boys nowadays to be as caring as you, most of them are pretty self-centered."

"Haha, I’m just pretending. If I had to take care of people like this every day, I wouldn’t be able to handle it."

"I don’t believe that. When you take care of people, everything is so natural, there’s no reluctance at all. Besides, just being able to do this is pretty good. A few of my classmates told me that when they’re sick, their boyfriends don’t care about them much, just play games over there."

"Well, it seems that I really am a pretty good man. The way you put it, I suddenly feel very confident."

Sarah chuckled and said, "Of course, Big Brother Brown is definitely a top-notch good man. Whoever marries you would be so lucky. I’m really envious of Sister Gina."

"Haha, you’re a good girl too, and you’ll find an even better man to take care of you someday."

Sarah’s eyes suddenly became lonely, and she said softly, "That’s not easy. It’s rare to find a man as good as Big Brother Brown."

John Brown felt a bit uneasy continuing this topic. He knew about Sarah’s feelings for him, so he quickly changed the subject, "By the way, we haven’t had dinner yet, what would you like to eat? I’ll go get it for you."

Sarah knew John Brown was deliberately changing the subject, and although she liked John very much, she didn’t want to make John uncomfortable. So she smiled and said, "Big Brother Brown, whatever I want to eat, you’ll agree to it?"

John Brown patted his chest and said, "Of course. You’re the patient, today you have the final say. Whatever you want to eat, I’ll get it for you."

Sarah’s eyes flashed with a hint of mischief and said, "Then I want to try the dishes you make."

John Brown was taken aback for a moment, then stood up and said, "Wait here."

Seeing John Brown really about to leave, Sarah quickly said, "I was just kidding, whatever you buy is fine, I’m not picky."

John Brown smiled at Sarah and said, "Just wait." Then he walked out of the room.

Sarah waited in the room for a whole hour, but still didn’t see any trace of John Brown, which made her anxious. She wondered why it was taking so long for him to buy food.

The rare chance to be alone with John Brown meant every minute was incredibly precious to her. But since John wasn’t back, she couldn’t urge him either.

Just as she was lying on the bed, anxiously waiting for John Brown, there was a knock on the door. Sarah was about to ask who it was when the door opened, and a hotel trolley was pushed in first.

"Ah! Big Brother Brown! You... why did you buy so much?" Sarah saw that it was John Brown pushing the trolley and was extremely delighted. Looking at the trolley, there were actually seven or eight plates, all covered with lids. She couldn’t help but ask.

John Brown laughed and said, "Little Snowie wanted to eat my cooking, so of course I had to make several dishes for you. I just borrowed the hotel’s kitchen."

"Huh? These are all made by you?" Hearing this, Sarah’s eyes instantly became moist.

John Brown pushed the trolley to the middle of the room, then came over and picked Sarah up, letting her sit by the trolley. He uncovered the lids one by one and said, "I really didn’t know what you like to eat, so I made a few meat dishes and vegetables. See if they suit your taste."

"Big Brother Brown..." Sarah looked at John Brown, suddenly exclaimed softly, then stretched out her arms and tightly hugged John Brown’s waist.
