The Sword Deity in Tokyo-Chapter 216: The Green Bird And The Red Bird
Make your choice!
Arisu Atsuhito's face twitched. He stood to his feet and glared straight at Kimura Kazuki, "Master Kimura, to kill someone because of a few words is absurd." As Arisu Yuusuke's father, although he was not exactly fond of this son, Arisu Yuusuke was still his offspring. He could not just sit and watch his son die.
"Sit down!" However, Arisu Taigo sitting in the main seat, looked at Arisu Atsuhito, and spoke coldly, "Who are you to speak here?" As he was speaking, he glanced at Kimura Kazuki, a grin plastered on his face, "Kimura-sama, please spare Yusuke's life. In the next century, I can promise that he will not step foot outside of the Arisu Shrine."
Even if Arisu Yuusuke was a genius, it was unlikely that he could live the past 100 years after practicing. Arisu Taigo made such a decision because he had no other choice. He knew that it was impossible to spare his grandson's life if he did not please Kimura Kazuki.
The future was always unpredictable. If Kimura Kazuki remained as powerful as he was now and lived a long life, then he naturally would not let his grandson step out of the Arisu Shrine. Of course, Arisu Yuusuke could still practice as usual, but he would have to stay home and guard the Arisu Shrine.
Shigeru Sei left as soon as he came just now. Was it really because he did not want to disturb the Arisu family hosting their important guest? Obviously not. Shigeru Sei clearly knew Kimura Kazuki and his power, so he did not even bother to stay and help the Arisu family out.
Seeing only a fraction of his power was enough for him to know that Kimura Kazuki was truly powerful. On top of that, he could feel the latter's reiki pressure from earlier and felt that it would be troublesome.
However, when Kimura Kazuki heard his statement, he let out a silent sigh. In the next moment, the people in the reception room witnessed a thin blue line transforming into a magnificent array of colors, which then proceeded to slash Arisu Yuusuke's throat!
It was simply too quick that no one got a clear look. However, even though it was not clear, Arisu Taigo sprang to his feet at the scene. The smile on his face vanished immediately, fury boiling in him, "Kimura Kazuki! You!!"
Boom!
A powerful cloud of reiki pressure descended onto the earth, oppressing Arisu Taigo to swallow back the words that were forming at the tip of his tongue. Nearing his seventies, he could not stop the gasp escaping his lips as he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his face as pale as a piece of paper. A mysterious shadow loomed behind him, its jade irises fearfully eyeing Kimura Kazuki before disappearing without a trace.
"Father!" Arisu Atsuhito could not help but scream as he glanced at Kimura Kazuki, terrified. Although he thought that Kimura Kazuki had no true opponent, it was only from his point of view. To him, his father's powers were still ranked top in the entire Tokyo, even in the Deity Rising Palace. He did not even see his father launch an attack before he vomited blood.
"You dawdle too much when making a decision." Kimura Kazuki's tone was as cold as ice, "The Arisu Shrine has a history of more than 200 years - even though Arisu Yuusuke is dead, is it impossible for you to preserve his soul with your consanguinity? Since you refused to kill him, I just had to do it myself. Keep in mind, though, when I kill him, both his body and soul will be annihilated."
During the early stages of the recuperation of reiki in the past, Kimura Kazuki had gotten used to life and death, to the point that he felt indifferent to life itself. After finding out that he had no talent to become a practitioner, he did not care much whether he was alive or dead. He only changed his attitude a lot later.
Being offended by Arisu Yuusuke's language was not something he would mind. For that guy to belittle him in public, he had to pay the price as those were the rules. The price would be his life, but the death of the physical body did not mean that the soul would vanish. It was also the reason he let the Arisu family settle the matter themselves. His only condition was to see Arisu Yuusuke plead for forgiveness with his death. However, Arisu Taigo ended up dawdling too much and exhausted all of his patience. He even tried to plead for his grandson at the last moment, which simply infuriated Kimura Kazuki.
Naturally, there was a price to pay for pushing one's luck as well.
As he was thinking, the Sun and Moon Sword slashed Arisu Yuusuke, killing him there and then. In the next moment, it shook so vigorously that Arisu Yuusuke's soul was annihilated.
Seeing this, Arisu Atsuhito glared so hard at Kimura Kazuki that his eyes bulged out. However, the fear in his body and the strong reiki pressure only allowed him to open his mouth. He could not even bring himself to speak. Seated on the floor, Arisu Taigo, who witnessed the scene, had fury brewing within him. As if his senses were set on fire, the pair of green irises emerged behind him again, and a giant figure followed suit.
The figure was approximately three meters tall and was coated with green flames. Heat instantly radiated from him and filled the reception room, making Arisu Atsuhito break into heavy sweat.
"Kill him, Aoki!" Arisu Taigo wiped at the blood at the corner of his mouth, slowly rising to his feet. He produced a stack of enchanted talismans from the table in front of him, chanting as he did so. He obviously knew that Kimura Kazuki was powerful; his reiki pressure on its own could hurt him. However, he was not going to battle on his own.
The Arisu Shrine had been operating for more than two centuries and had a reasonably solid foundation. Moreover, the entire shrine was shrouded in a huge enchantment. With Torii as a starting point, the whole of the Arisu Shrine was completely enveloped. In addition to the enchantment, the Arisu family could still form teams in the outside world. Even those who were more powerful than Arisu Taigo would still have to be detained if they entered the Arisu Shrine.
Seeing this, Kimura Kazuki smiled. He thought Arisu Taigo would be more sensible given his elder age, but who knew that his character would become more extreme as he aged?
Just as Kimura Kazuki was about to deliver the final blow, the loud crow of a bird sounded outside the reception room. A shrill voice flowed into the room, "Kimura-sama, please spare some mercy."
Hearing this voice, Aoki, who was just about to follow Arisu Taigo's command, halted mid-action. No matter how Arisu Taigo yelled further orders, he was unwilling to move.
The door of the reception room swung open in a loud motion. Two petite birds of unknown species, one green and the other red, flew in.
The green bird soared toward the main seat and looked at Arisu Taigo indifferently. Seeing Arisu Taigo's look of delight, he humphed coldly with disgust in his heart. Then, he diverted his attention to Aoki and said flatly, "Aoki, execute the Act of Soul Incineration."
"Yes, Sir." Aoki replied, his voice low as though he had caught a cold. In the next instance, a jade flame materialized from Aoki's body and gently lowered itself. Right before Arisu Taigo's look of disbelief, it descended onto his body.
An excruciating scream sounded through the room. Before Arisu Taigo could question whatever that was happening, his physical body and soul were directly burned to ashes.
Kimura Kazuki watched the scene with interest and seemed to have a conclusion in his heart. He reached out slightly, and the red bird descended into his open palm.
The scarlet bird bowed slightly and spoke in a melodious and respectful tone, "Master Kimura, your powers are truly daunting. The Arisu family has no intention of offending you. Arisu Yuusuke is hopeless - he was asking for his own death. Arisu Taigo is too selfish and is no longer suitable to be the patriarch of the Arisu family. Furthermore, he had tried to offend someone of higher status. I have already ordered the second generation patriarch to implement the family law. Arisu Taigo's soul is now expunged.
The Arisu family is also willing to compensate for ten times your loss. Please spare the Arisu family, Master Kimura!"
"You are?"
"I am the first patriarch of the Arisu family, Arisu Yurika."
