The System Awakens: Rise of the Champion-Chapter 130: The Propositions - 1
In the territory of the [Circle of Ouroborous] faction, inside the grand dining hall, stood a large oval table made from high-quality wood, fit for royalty.
It was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate more than two dozen people.
At the head of the table sat Damian, in a finely crafted wooden chair lined with soft cushions that offered supreme comfort.
He wasn't alone. To his right sat Maria and her seven sisters.
On his left, closest to him, sat Elfie, followed by her younger brother Arlen, whom Damian had just saved about half an hour earlier.
Shiru and Sir Holloway were also present, quietly observing their faction leader.
Damian Ignatius sipped his tea with the laziest expression imaginable, bored, almost as if he had nothing better to do.
But everyone at the table knew better.
They could see tiny wisps of blue energy occasionally flickering in his eyes, a subtle sign that something was happening internally.
"So... um... are you a High Demon or High Human... which is it?" Sir Holloway asked carefully after choosing his words with precision.
Not just him, everyone around the table was cautious in Damian's presence.
He wasn't just another Awakener anymore.
He was a Ruler of Hell, possibly the strongest Awakener they would ever meet in their lifetime.
Not to mention, he was already powerful enough to defeat noble vampires, the strong kind.
He had earned the respect and fear of every Awakener who had witnessed the war.
There were even rumors of people who might flee at just the sight of him.
Damian's display of power was overwhelming, almost terrifying.
Even his own faction members were deeply intimidated, if not outright scared of him.
"Well, it's kind of complicated, but I'll try to explain it in simple words," Damian said, taking a calm sip of tea.
"Simply put, I'm both a High Human and a High Demon... and even more."
"What do you mean, even more?" Sir Holloway asked.
"I have the ability to extract the essence of any race and perfectly synthesize it into my own. The more racial essences I collect, the more I can integrate them into myself," Damian explained as he stood up.
As he did, his appearance began to shift.
His brownish-black hair turned purplish-black and grew down to his waist.
His neon-blue eyes deepened into a glowing crimson red.
His skin became paler as the [Dark Essence] began to swirl around him.
Then, from his back, three pairs of wings sprouted, similar in shape to a pigeon's, but entirely black like a crow's. Each wing spanned about seven feet.
[You have switched your race from [High Human] to [High Fallen Angel]]
"This is..."
Everyone's eyes widened once again as they witnessed the incredible phenomenon, a [High Human] transforming into a [High Fallen Angel] right before their eyes.
He had collected the racial essence of the [High Fallen Angel] from the fallen angel marquis Andras, after devouring him upon defeating him during the [Demon Dungeon Mission].
"I can turn into any race at will. And when I transform, it's not just my appearance that changes, my entire being becomes the race I embody."
Damian's appearance began to shift again.
His hair and skin tone remained the same, but his fallen angel wings morphed into a single pair of bat-like wings.
His facial features became more refined, and his charm magnified dozens of times over.
His eyes turned a neon blue with reddish accents, reflecting small, flourishing lights.
His figure began to emit a faint swirling pheromone and a thin pinkish aura and scent, which instantly started affecting the women in the dining hall.
[You have switched your race from [High Human] to [High Incubus]]
As soon as Damian switched his race to [High Incubus], all the girls in the dining hall felt their emotions stir like never before.
In their eyes, Damian had become someone they could completely lose control over, a person they would willingly throw themselves at.
"It doesn't matter what race it is... I can become it, as long as I obtain their racial essence."
Damian noticed that the girl was being affected by the [High Incubus] scent.
His figure shifted again as the features of the [High Incubus] faded, and the traits of the [High Human] resurfaced.
"As you can see, I'm not just a High Human anymore. I am a High Demon, a High Fallen Angel, and one day I'll be the only person standing between all races, a bridge. The only being who can become any race I desire."
A neon blue aura seeped out from his figure, responding to his emotions.
In his mind, he couldn't help but think that one day, he would dominate all races while also being part of them.
But Damian wasn't arrogant, and he knew better than to become so.
As soon as he felt his emotions growing stronger, he controlled himself, not wanting to get too drunk on his newfound abilities and power.
The power to become any race he wished, while also maintaining complete control over each race's essence at the same time...
It was a broken ability, no matter how you looked at it.
And he understood that he was a broken existence, but he also knew he shouldn't let it get to his head.
As he calmed himself, the aura seeping out of him slowly receded back into his body.
He sighed, turning his gaze back to Sir Lucian Holloway, who, like the others in the hall, wore an expression that could be described in many ways: shock, disbelief, bewilderment, flabbergasted confusion, even dumbfoundment.
"Does that mean you can also use all the racial abilities when you're embodying a race?" Sir Holloway asked, standing up from his chair.
The sheer ridiculousness of what he was hearing made it impossible for him to stay seated or calm.
"Yes," Damian nodded before continuing.
"Actually, I can do better than that... It doesn't matter which race I'm currently embodying, I can use all the racial abilities of the races I have in my collection."
"W-What?"
The dumbfounded expression on Sir Holloway's face deepened.
Veins bulged on his forehead, sweat dripped down his face, and he felt as if his head was about to explode.
"Whether it's demonic abilities," Damian raised a finger, and the teacup on the table floated up, circling around the dining table under the control of his Demonic Ability, [Demon's Grasp].
"Or the bloodline abilities of the noble vampires." Vampiric flames ignited on his other hand, burning brighter and hotter, while the teacup continued circling the table.
"I can wield them all."
While currently embodying the race of a [High Human], Damian demonstrated his mastery over both the demonic powers of demons and the bloodline abilities of noble vampires.
The flames on his arm vanished, and the teacup gently returned to the dining table, as if it had a will of its own.
"I-Is... is that?" Sir Holloway pointed to the arm where the vampiric flames had just been burning.
"Yes... I can use the bloodline ability of the Brenlith Vampire Clan," Damian said with a smile.
But then his smile froze.
Sir Holloway hadn't moved an inch. Damian sensed something was wrong.
He looked around the dining table.
The others were also frozen in place, as if time itself had stopped.
Yet he could still sense the faint movements of insects and the life teeming underground.
That confirmed it.
Time hadn't been stopped. Rather, someone had frozen everyone in the territory, halting not just their movement but their senses as well.
They couldn't see, hear, or feel anything happening from that moment onward.
Damian spread his senses outward, but no matter how far or how hard he tried, he couldn't detect anyone.
His eyes narrowed.
"Alright. Who's responsible for this?" Damian sighed and asked aloud.
Immediately, several figures appeared out of nothingness in front of him.
He hadn't sensed their arrival, and even now, he couldn't feel their presence.
Or perhaps their presence was so overwhelming he couldn't pinpoint it at all.
The first thing he noticed was the women among them.
They were, without a doubt, the most beautiful women he had ever seen.
Not even his wildest imagination could have conjured up beauty that compared to theirs.
And the longer Damian looked at their faces, the more entranced he became.
Their beauty deepened the longer he stared, and he felt himself slowly becoming lost in it.
"What... is happening?" Damian muttered, struggling to maintain control as he found himself dangerously captivated.
Subconsciously, he began resisting the influence. Their charm was being forced upon him, and no matter how much he tried, it was far too strong.
"I... I won't lose... control..." Damian bit his lip, but even the pain was dulled by their charm.
It was as if the influence wouldn't stop until he was completely under their spell.
The charm was too strong, but Damian's willpower and mental strength were not weak either.
He began to fight back at full force, pushing the charm away from him with a powerful blast, while his innate ability [Eyes of Heaven and Earth] and his talent [Mind of Eternity] activated at full capacity, helping him maintain his consciousness and resist the compulsion of the charm.
