"The gods must help me grow as strong as possible, to the fullest extent they can, as long as it doesn't negatively affect me, my faction, or anyone I care about."

Damian looked at the gods.

They still seemed to be okay with his conditions.

He had hoped they would stop him midway and refuse his demands, so he could reject their offer and make them leave him alone.

"You know what, thinking more deeply about this, I want to add one more condition," Damian continued.

"A sixth condition, I want access to all the information the gods possess, whenever and wherever I want, without restriction. Whether it's divine secrets or mortal gossip, I want it all."

"You know," Freya said with a small sigh, "compared to getting a chance to save hundreds of races on the brink of extinction, the conditions you've laid out are nothing concerning."

"I don't know why you're so against becoming our disciple. It's not like we're going to torture you or anything. Our only purpose is to prevent the races from going completely extinct. Don't you want to be a part of something so great and noble?"

"Let me tell you something," Brahma, the Hindu God of Creation, said.

"We will agree to all the conditions you've stated if you agree to help us in any way possible to ensure the survival of all the races. And you must never align yourself with the dark gods."

"Let me ask you something in return," Damian said. "Why are you so intent on saving the races from extinction? What's really in it for you?"

The gods had been repeating the same consistent reason: to save the races from extinction and preserve the cycle of life and death.

But Damian couldn't help feeling that there was more to it than just saving lives or continuing the cycle.

"Saving the races means saving the universe," Brahma replied.

"Without life to sustain the cycle of life and death, the universe loses all purpose. What is the use of an empty home? And without the energy of life, that home will eventually crumble as well."

"And we, as gods, are not gods without the concepts that make us gods. If every living being in the universe goes extinct, then all the concepts that exist in reality will also disappear along with them."

"And once the concepts are gone, there will no longer be those concepts in reality, the very ones that sustain us as gods. Without them, we will lose our godhood and eventually, our lives. Then, there won't even be any evidence in the cosmos that our universe ever existed," he continued.

"This is not just important to us, but to mortals as well. If concepts begin to disappear, then reality as you know it will start to unravel, piece by piece. In the end, there will be nothing left but empty space."

"You may have an infinite lifespan or unlimited energy, but if the concepts of life, death, continuance, or even creation no longer exist, it won't matter. Without those concepts, there would be nothing left. You would simply stop experiencing those concepts."

The goddess Freya continued, "Now you understand. This matter is important to you too. If a way to stop the extinction isn't found, then even those you love or hate will become null and void."

Damian sighed, thinking long and hard.

What they were saying was true.

From the memories he held, millions of years' worth drawn from demons and a fallen angel who once served a primordial god, he knew a great deal about concepts and how their existence affects gods.

He only asked them about it to see what they would say and to verify the knowledge he had gained from those ancient memories.

Technically speaking, he was the only human to ever evolve into a High Human.

He even had the talent to acquire the ability to change into any race, so long as he possessed the racial essence.

But it wasn't just transformation; he became that race entirely, fully embodying it.

Nothing like this had ever happened before.

Not even the gods thought such a thing was possible.

Damian didn't know if he truly had the power or talent to stop the extinction or to create high-ranking species of different races.

But it was undeniable that he might possess something, some potential, that could help find a solution.

He wasn't sure if these gods were as noble as they claimed, but their purpose in seeking him out seemed legitimate.

And as he thought about it more, he couldn't help but realize the scale of the threat that extinction posed.

This wasn't just a problem for the gods.

It was a problem for everyone in the universe.

And what was the point of Damian growing stronger and stronger if the very concepts of power, growth, war, battle, life, everything that defined his existence, disappeared?

What was the point of everything he had done?

Damian looked at the gods and could see the expression on their faces.

After a long minute of thinking, he sighed in resignation.

"Fine," Damian agreed.

"But my conditions still stand. I will help you find a solution to our problem, and in return, you will do everything stated in the contract conditions."

"I accept," the goddess Freya agreed first.

"I accept," the goddess of victory agreed second.

"I would love to be your patron goddess," the goddess Hathor said, smiling and showing the most beautiful expression Damian had ever seen on a person before.

"Obviously, I have no problem with the conditions," Brahma, the Hindu God of Creation, nodded.

"Well, if you guys agreed to these ridiculous conditions, then I have no issue with this either," Hermes, the God of Travel, Trade, Communication, Thieves, and Trickery, said, rolling his eyes.

Damian grinned mischievously. "By the way, I also want to add another line to the conditions: I can cancel the contract whenever I want. But to make it more fair, I'll make it so that I can leave the contract whenever I want if the conditions begin to affect me negatively."

"Fine... Hell, aren't you a little too paranoid?" the gods rolled their eyes in unison.

Even the silent, calm God of Creation couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"This boy... he doesn't trust anyone," all five gods thought in unison.

"Being paranoid helps me sleep better at night," Damian said as he clicked a button on the system panel he was seeing in his field of vision.

As soon as Damian clicked on it, a system panel appeared in front of all five gods simultaneously, and they, too, without hesitation, accepted the contract conditions and finalized the contracts.

Another series of notifications appeared in front of Damian.

"I may not have as many concepts as the other gods, and I may not be considered a major goddess like the others, but whether it's a fight or anything else, I will always come out victorious," Nike said, as Damian sensed a warm sensation spreading through his skin as a blessing descended upon his existence.

"May my Blessing of Victory make your life victorious."

Then, suddenly, the appearance of Goddess Hathor began to shift.

Her form changed as her dark black hair turned golden blonde, her eyes became fiery, resembling two orbs of the sun, and armor appeared around her figure with two sun-colored wings behind her.

"I'm Sekhmet," the transformed Hathor spoke in a new, powerful voice.

"The goddess of Fierce Protection, War, and Destruction. Like the others, I, too, have grown fond of you, boy. You are strong. Your will to protect your faction has proven your worth. You are worthy of becoming my disciple."
