The Tale Of Kitsuna-Chapter 161 -
161 Chapter 16“Well, I think the red team is going to win,” I said, looking at the absolute carnage going on before us.
It’s been about 2 hours since the battle started. And well, it was a bloodbath like we thought it would be. The more minor monsters like goblins and kobolds were just there to increase the blood on the floor.
Orcs were the vanguard that actually was able to put up a fight against the more enormous ogres and monsters. There were even a dozen chimaeras on the battlefield. Of course, all of them were already dead as the wiverns and griffons made quick work of them.
Kayda said Chimaeras were good food for flying monsters.
On another note, this was a great experience to see how monsters fought in wars.
A medieval war style where they just run into each other and kill each other. Way outdated and unproductive, but that’s what you got to expect of dumb monsters.
“hmm, it seems the big bosses are coming out,” Kayda said, looking at the giant minotaur and wolf coming onto the battlefield on opposites of the area.
“ah, isn’t that minotaur too big?” I asked, remembering the minotaurs that had already died in the battle.
“yes, but they aren’t infrequent. But why did you only ask about the minotaur? What about the wolf?” Kayda said, pointing at the giant wolf. The funny part is that if Kayda and I stood next to them in our full sizes as well, they would look relatively small.
.....
“in my old world, we had a myth about a god’s pet being a giant wolf. So, I am used to that already.” I explained, laughing at her.
“huh, interesting.”
“Yeah, the imagination of the world back there is very imaginative,” I said, chuckling again.
“Well, it’s myths, so it might have been true.”
“Myhts are my Kayda. It doesn’t exist,” I said, shaking my head.
“true most myths are not true, but you never know,” Kayda said, nodding in agreement.
“Yeah, more like all of them.”
“Well, anyways, what’s their level you can check, right?” Kayda asked, changing the subject back to the present.
“Hmm, you’re right, I can,” I said, grinning and looking back at them using my skill.
Name: Onirus (Yuusaku Sakaishi)
Level: 176
Race: Great Minetour
“hmm, I see. What about the wolf.” I muttered, annoyed seeing the name.
Name: Fenrir (Akutami Gegege)
Level: 179
Race: Wolf Lord
“What do you see?” Kayda asked, seeing my annoyed facial expression.
“They are both reincarnations,” I said, grumbling.
“Really, I had a thought this might have had something to do with reincarnations but never really thought it would be true,” Kayda said, grumbling as well.
“Yeah, though, do those two sorts of monsters have human forms?” I asked, interested.
“Yes, they do if their intelligence is high enough, but that only happens at about the level 400 margin.” She explained, waving her hand dismissively.
“Well, they are reincarnations, so they have the intelligence for it.”
“True. Are you going to go and kill them then?” Kayda said, surprising me.
“... what?” I said, raising my eyebrow at Kayda.
“They are good experiences.”
“I know I have said I don’t care about my classmates, but reincarnations are quite powerful. Powerful things are useful.” I said, looking between the two monsters and Kayda.
“yes, I know what you mean, but those two arents up for grabs,” Kayda said, pointing at the two before shaking her head.
“huh, why do you say that.”
“Kitsu, don’t you see the bands on their necks?” Kayda said, pointing at them again.
“what? Oh shit, they are slaves!?” I shouted out in surprise, seeing the slave bands around their necks.
“yeah, but why are they aren’t they attacking each other?” Kayda said, realizing the minotaur and wolf hadn’t moved at all since they got on the scene.
“ah, I get it now. The higher the monsters’ level, the more experience they will gain.” I said, snapping my fingers.
“do explain.”
“You see, they made the towns fight each other to level them up and then kill them afterwards. Like that.” I explained just before the wolf and minotaur massacred the closest monster to them.
“Huh, that’s actually quite a smart plan of theirs,” Kayda said, nodding.
“Well, they are federation dogs, so we got to take care of them,” I said, pumping my fist, ready to fight.
“What about their surveillance?” Kayda said, making me stop in my tracks.
“What?”
“They do have a Master being slaves and all. What should we do about that person.” Kayda asked, sounding more like she just wanted to test me with my answer.
“Is that person,” I said, looking around mostly behind us.
“... No, I already checked,” Kayda said, shaking her head.
“then we don’t have to worry for now,” I said, sighing in relief.
“True forms then?”
“true forms, yes.”
“Just hide your tails, and can you turn my scales to green?” Kayda asked for obvious reasons.
“I can do that. You are going to use wind only?” I asked to make sure.
“correct.”
“Alright, will do,” I said, standing up and stretching.
“Right. How long do you think we have to kill them before their babysitting arrives.” I asked, spreading my mana around us.
“hmm, quite long, maybe an hour,” Kayda said thoughtfully.
“ah, don’t even need to worry about then. I will finish this in 5 minutes.” I said, smiling confidently.
“yeah, but as I said, I am only supporting if needed,” Kayda reminded me.
“I know,” I said, turning into a giant white fox towering over the hill we were sitting on a few minutes ago.
“Beautiful,” Kayda mumbled, turning into a green dragon.
“Thanks for the compliment, you cutie,” I said, rubbing my head against her next.
“Tsk, go and kill them already,” Kayda said, pushing me away.
“will do, darling.” I cooed, giggling at kayda, that looked away from me.
‘Well, let’s go for the cow first.’ I thought, teleporting in front of the minotaur biting at his head.
“What!?” Shouting in surprise, Onirus dodged to the left, making me bite off his right arm.
“Agh, what the hell are you,” Onirus said, glaring up at me.l while moving back away from me.
“urk, damnit thought cow meat would taste better when it is raw,” I said, spitting out his arm. Looking at him, I raised an eyebrow at how small he actually was. Close up. I was at least 10 meters taller than him.
“fuck this thing can talk!?” Onitus shouted, surprised with widened eyes.
“I can say the same thing about you,” I said, stepping forwards towards him, baring my teeth.
“Fenrir, I need some help here,” Onirus shouted across the battlefield.
“I already know,” Fenrir said, appearing behind me only to get a tail wrapped around his neck.
“you guys aren’t as powerful for the level 170s,” I said, slamming Fenrir into the ground while swiping a claw at Onirus.
“fuck bitch that hurt,” Fenrir said, with venom, glaring at me.
“...” Ignoring him, I pulled him up again, throwing him at Onirus and knocking both down.
“ugh, what are you doing? Catch me, dumbass.” Fenrir yields, getting up.
“hey, concentrate on the fight,” I muttered, biting down on Fenrir’s neck.
“Fenrir! Let go of her!” Onirus yelled, grabbing at me with his left hand.
Jumping back, I let go of Fenrir’s neck, quite surprised at what Onitus said.
.....
“you’re a female?” I said, tilting my head.
“ferk yiu!”
“Here, let me heal you,” Onirus said, putting his hand on Fenrir’s neck.
“Like I would allow you to heal each other,” I said, appearing in front of them, bitting down on Onirus’s left arm guarding Fenrir exposed throat.
“crunch, aaahh!!”
Bitting down even harder, I ripped off Onirus’s forearm.
“Aaah! How is she so strong.”
“Fuck you bitch!” Fenrir shouted. After her throat healed a bit, she pounced at me only to get my tail impaled into her, killing her instantly
not stopping, I bor down my tail at Onirus as well, stabbing him as well in the chest, killing him.
“you guys are way too weak for monsters at level 170,” I muttered something disappointed
sssss.
Hearing a weird sound, I jumped back, leaving both bodies behind.
“what’s wrong,” Kayda said, flying next to me.
“There is a sizzling sound coming from- they dissolved?” I mumbled, only seeing a pool of blood where their bodies were.
“hmm, so they aren’t really dead?” Kayda asked for no one in particular.
“it seems so, but who made the fail-safe, the federation or them their selves,” I said thoughtfully, narrowing my eyes at the blood.
“Good question. Well, that’s not a problem we need to worry about now.” Kayda said, looking around with her gaze lingering to the west.
“Hmm,” humming focusing my hearing towards the west.
“tsk, they failed and lost to some damn level 50 demon fox.” A woman said, annoyed.
“Don’t you think the fox might be the draigs daughter?” A man said next to the woman.
“Hmm, I heard she is cursed. Can a cursed person be that strong?” The woman growled.
“ah, I guess your right. She was also said to be a red fox.”
“This might be a double team the dragons are making to get revenge.”
“revenge? Why would dragons want revenge on the Federation?” I muttered, looking at kayda.
“Angels.”
“huh?”
“Don’t worry about it. Let’s go back.”
“not going to?”
“no, they don’t know who we are like we planned, so let them report back to the higher-ups,” KAyda said, ushering me on for us to leave.
“Okay.”
