The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 172: Ch : Another Loss- Part 2
Kuro’s presence faded slowly but surely. Within seconds, I could no longer feel his energy pulsing around me.
The high priest staggered as he absorbed Kuro, but he also straightened his back as he looked at me with the same cold and unfamiliar eyes.
"One enemy down, one more to go. Do you have anything to say before you become a part of me?"
The high priest asked, but I felt numb.
Loss was a feeling I was very familiar with. I had lost a lot of people. In fact, I had lost almost everyone in my life that I had a connection with. All my past companions, Erin, even my parents.
Heck, even Theo had not been someone I was able to keep. And now, Kuro was gone as well. Just how was I going to get over this?
"Give him back! Give Kuro back to me!"
My voice sounded low, but the intent behind it was clear—I was demanding my person back.
My words made the high priest pause, and he looked at me with a confused look on his face.
"You want... that creature back? But aren’t you human? Why would you demand for a beast back? Did you get seduced by its power?"
The high priest asked, now confused. He had no emotions or concept of bond, so he could not understand why Kuro was important to me. And I was not in a stable mental frame to explain either.
I just knew that I wanted Kuro back. And I wanted Theo back.
And I wanted everything I ever lost back as well.
"Give him back! He was not yours to take. You had no right to take any more from me."
I yelled to no one. I might be speaking to the high priest, but my anger was directed at someone else I could not see. All I knew was the fact that I needed to get rid of this anger brewing inside me.
The high priest looked concerned to hear me yelling.
"You should calm down. Your emotional parameters are going off the stable zone. At this rate, you might face a mental backlash..."
The high priest sounded just a little concerned when he spoke, and I scoffed.
"Oh! Now you suddenly care about me? But it’s too late. What do I have to lose at this point? I no longer care what I am going to take out with me either. This place is going down."
I threatened as my power swelled inside me. I could feel something bubbling under the surface, threatening to come out and swallow the world.
[WARNING: POWER THRESHOLD REACHED. USER NEEDS TO CALM DOWN OR THERE WILL BE SEVERE BACKLASH.]

The system was loud and insistent. It tried to make me calm down and rethink what I was doing, but I was too angry to pay it any attention.
’Fuck the system and fuck my own emotions. I cannot calm down anymore.’
I felt the dungeon shake as my emotions rose to the surface. My familiars were multiplying at a rapid rate, not leaving an inch of space. I was going to blow it all up and end this.
"Your energy reading is concerningly high. I should inform you that if you choose to go through with your plan, then no one else other than you and I would survive."
The high priest told me, but I gritted my teeth.
"Oh, don’t worry. By the time I am done with you, neither the dungeon nor you would survive. As for everyone else, it would be an unfortunate but necessary casualty accident for the safety of the world."
I felt my mouth move in a numb way.
Had I been in my normal state of emotions, I would have likely not said these words. But I was currently facing a mental breakdown and was in no mood to listen to anything else.
The person in front of me looked sorry to hear me speak such words. He gave me a disappointed look before he shook his head.
"What an unfortunate turn of events for both of us and this dungeon. You will allow your emotions to take you over and end everything, and I will struggle with all my might to survive. What a fitting end... but one that will not come to pass."
The high priest sounded disappointed as he snapped his fingers, and the world around us shifted. The barrier around the dungeon exploded, and suddenly, we were in the real world.
"You are free to make your attack, but just know that it will no longer be just the dungeon that will get affected. You will take out a part of the real world as well."
He spoke as the outside of the dungeon came into focus.
I felt my breath get caught in my throat as I looked around.
’T-This is...’
"How cunning of you. Do you really think this would be enough to hold me back?"
I asked the man, and he shook his head.
"Of course not. But I do hope that it would make you hesitate... and it did. That was all I needed."
There was a sudden pain in my chest as I felt my body relax and collapse. I looked back, only to see that someone had attacked me hard.
’H-How did they manage to break past my familiars—’
That was my last thought before I collapsed. My body fell unconscious, but I could still feel my powers raging out of control.
I had opened a dam that could no longer be closed to contain my feelings. I was likely a lost cause, and so was the world that would fall victim to my powers.
’Kuro... I am sorry... you did not deserve what happened to you.’
That was my last thought before I lost consciousness.
