[Pinnacle Academy, Cafeteria: All's Cafe]

[: AM]

Well, I couldn't get ough of how annoying Silve was as a character and as a teacher.

Her eyes were practically glued on me for half the lesson and I'm not interested in what she wants from me.

Like what could I do? I handed in my work ahead of time and she still got mad?

haah...

If only I hadn't writt her as that cocky teacher trope, th this wouldn't have be a problem at all.

Hopefully, I'll try and hide from her in the next coming classes, cause all I wanted to do was nap to prepare for today's schedule...

First on my list of things to do was to meet up with Jae and Alice.

I planned on fixing things up with Jae's missing bow and helping the two 'study' ' but I'm not convinced why they would ask for my help.

Ever since I broke her bow during the semi-final, I knew there was no way for me to fix it, so I came up with a differt idea instead.

I wt out to modify the bow I initially used during the D-League Tournamt.

Though changing my approach would have be the more ssible solution, I had to go through with this.

My only hope was that Jae Yoona was willing ough to overlook the blatant change, to pretd I hadn't be responsible for the loss of her weapon.

In my hand, it was the modified version of the Feywoond Moonlight Bow.

[Perceptive Mind has be activated!]

[Item: Feywood Moonlight Bow (Academy Adjusted) [Grade 5] - Condition: Very Good - Enchantmts: Enhanced Reload Function II - Special bonus: Upon firing a shot a 5% amplification boosts the elemtal attribute used.]

Looking at it now this bow gave me something to remember back at the tournamt and I already knew giving this up was a little too much.

Although I wanted to remain on good terms with important characters like Jae Yoona, th sacrifices like this are what it takes to uphold my goals.

...

...

Arriving at All's Cafe I patitly waited for the two to arrive.

A few minutes later, Alice and Jae arrived, with laptops in their hand.

Awkwardly, I waved. Jae shot me a look that was half disgust, half resigned sadness.

Not a good start. I had to fix this. Somehow.

As they sat down, I forced out a smile. "Can I get you two anything?"

Jae's voice was deceptively calm. "No."

The way she said 'ask' made me think 'interrogate' might be more accurate.

"Ah, okay…" I tried to sound casual, but my voice cracked.

"We'll get straight to it. Your bow…I wt and had it upgraded. As a gift, for letting me use it in the tournamt."

A blatant lie, but hopefully she'd buy it.

"here..."

Jae blinked, th turned to Alice as if looking for support.

Her confusion was…couraging?

I pulled out the Feywood Moonlight Bow, putting on my most innoct expression.

Jae gasped, her eyes widing. A connoisseur like her – this bow was the perfect mix of beauty and power.

Khum...

She looked away, a strange, choked cough escaping her.

"You…did this because I lt you my bow?"

glance...glance...glance...

She couldn't stop stealing glances back at it.

For Jae, aesthetics were almost as important as performance, and this bow delivered both.

"Yes. It's yours now. You can try it out…"

I handed it to her. She took it eagerly like it was a priceless treasure.

Her fingers traced the wood, th she plucked the bowstring. An arrow materialized, glowing with ergy.

This was way more powerful than her old bow.

"I'll take it."

"It was yours all along."

A wave of relief washed over me. Thank goodness that worked.

"Also, you won't need to help us study this week. Exams got pushed back, so we've got some free time."

"Okay... sure..."

"One more thing," Jae said hesitantly. "Are you joining any other clubs today?"

Was she asking me a question unrelated to the topic?

How weird... but if she was referring to the second registrations for clubs... th yes that was on my to-do list today.

Since I wanted to use my free time to spd my usual boring days.

"Yeah, If that was it th I'll be taking my leave."

"Oh okay." She dropped her gaze.

[Valcia's POV]

[Asan Medical Cter: Room: 346#]

"Ugh, my head…" My eyes fluttered op, battling the fog of sleep.

I realised I was in a hospital room, body aching.

Slowly, I started recalling what happed back at the ara.

The reporter, the trap, the feeling of certain death…and th, a saviour.

Black hair, the fading beat of their heart against my cheek...

My fingers traced the spot, a strange warmth spreading through me.

Who was that... touching my cheek I remembered their beating heart and I was thinking, it had to be someone in Pinnacle right?

But there were too many people with black hair, It might have be Jan.

Although that had to be impossible.

He wouldn't have followed me through the tunnel after I had told him to meet us at the food courts.

My mind drifted to another figure, it was an uneasy feeling in my stomach, and was a ridiculous thought... no, it couldn't be him again, could it?

That conversation with Jan earlier... he told me that he couldn't stay out long…he must have left.

He had to have. Because if it was him… why? Why go to such lgths for me?

haah...

A sigh escaped me I knew I shouldn't jump to conclusions, but with Jan pushing that stupid assumption I couldn't help but think of it as anything else.

Th a gasp cut through my thoughts as a voice broke the silce.

"You're awake, Ms. Freya."

I blinked against the fuzzy light. This wasn't a Miracle's Guild doctor. "Who…who are you?"
