The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 162: Perfect Score for Beauty
Maya Monroe’s hearing is very keen, so even though she was just having a sweet sleep, she still opened her eyes the moment she heard footsteps.
Brian Bennett abruptly stopped in his tracks because Maya Monroe’s gaze turned to him. Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes had a hint of red, not the kind that evoked pity after crying, but a fierce crimson.
However, that dangerous feeling lasted only a moment. When he looked again, Maya Monroe’s eyes were completely clear, with just a hint of weariness. Those eyes were still so breathtakingly beautiful.
Bella Sanford gave Brian a pat: "Brian, what happened to you? Why did you suddenly freeze up?"
Brian Bennett shook his head.
Bella Sanford asked, "Maya, why did you fall asleep here?"
Her voice was tinged with confusion, not without reason; Maya was definitely the first person in their show to fall asleep!
When her eyes glanced at Maya Monroe’s beautiful face, her throat, which had just praised Alisa Shelby, suddenly felt a bit dry.
"It’s my turn already?" Maya Monroe’s voice carried a hint of drowsiness.
"You’re the last one, it’s your turn," Brian Bennett said. "They’re about to evaluate your photo now, let’s head to the center stage, Maya!"
Maya Monroe stood up directly, tilted her chin a little, and said, "Let’s go."
She wasn’t surprised at all about being the last to present. She was the antagonist after all. If those ahead of her were lucky, then... well, she felt her luck matched her identity just fine.
She wouldn’t procrastinate further, as Brian and the others persuading her would take time, and Maya wanted to end this crappy variety show quickly.
After Maya returned, the evaluations continued.
The judges were momentarily stunned when they saw Maya Monroe. She had been tucked away in a corner, so naturally, they hadn’t noticed her.
Previously, when Maya Monroe’s "divine beauty" was trending, they thought it was just deliberate hype. But seeing her in person now, they realized how truly beautiful she was. She didn’t need any staged photography or filters; she was exceptionally beautiful.
Maya Monroe’s photo appeared on the big screen.
The girl in the red tracksuit had long hair reaching her waist, with a few mischievous strands sticking to her porcelain-like cheeks. Her eyebrows and eyes were exquisite, and the corners of her lips slightly curled up, not much, but that slight lift of her brows instantly made her entire face come alive.
A lively beauty, this was an even more extreme form of beauty.
This was a kind of "liveliness" that no filter or Photoshop technique could achieve. In a way, she looked as beautiful as a painting.
The room was silent for a few seconds; there were no perfunctory compliments or shocked gasps. Everyone seemed to be put on pause, foolishly staring at the screen.
Even Maya Monroe herself was slightly taken aback when she saw the screen. She had always felt that appearance was the most useless thing. She wasn’t infatuated with beauty and rarely looked in the mirror, almost to the point of not remembering her appearance.
But seeing the photo on the big screen, she couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows, seemingly a bit surprised.
From somewhere in the audience, people suddenly started screaming Maya’s name, with such frenzy that it seemed they might shatter a few layers of the floor.
Maya keenly caught a few words; "Maya," she knew, was her own name. But who was this "wife" they were talking about?
Bella Sanford swallowed and began to regain control of the scene: "I can feel the audience’s enthusiasm, but please quiet down, our game isn’t over yet."
Miles Wallace’s commotion was understandable; after all, he was extremely popular, and even a sip of water would draw attention. But this wave of excitement for Maya was far beyond anything just witnessed, leaving her a bit perplexed.
Brian Bennett snapped to attention and said to the stunned judges on stage, "Everyone can give a simple evaluation first."
Actually, Brian had mixed feelings too. When Maya was high up, he was not far off, and clearly saw her taking a very lackadaisical photo, practically shoving her face at the camera, pausing for at most a second.
The judges came back to their senses:
"Beautiful... beautiful..."
Earlier, when they were praising someone, they still used flowery and refined words, choosing several angles to praise. But with Maya, only two words remained: beautiful.
The bald judge realized he was being too brief and repeated, "Truly beautiful..."
Though it didn’t seem to make much impact.
He looked at Maya Monroe again; in person, she was even more stunning, a striking beauty!
Kiki Monroe and Alisa Shelby’s faces did not look good. They both had a chance at getting the highest score. Even against Miles Wallace, they had some confidence, but with Maya...
"Next, let’s have our guests rate Maya’s photo!"
After some maneuvering, Brian Bennett clapped his hands again and said, "Thank you to our panel of judges for their scores. Thank you! Hopefully, we’ll see you again next time!"
After the judges bowed and headed backstage, many of their gazes lingered on Maya Monroe.
Maya followed their gaze, and perhaps the agitation in her eyes was too evident, those prying looks quickly disappeared.
"The scores for all the guests have been tallied up!"
Brian Bennett turned and pointed to the big screen: "Everyone, please look at the big screen!"
The order was consistent with how the photos were presented just now, with the highest score at the top: Kiki Monroe: 93.
Following that were scores in the eighty or ninety range.
Leo Lancaster and Miles Wallace weren’t very photo-savvy, so they lost a bit in this aspect.
Leo Lancaster: 90
Miles Wallace: 92
Alisa Shelby scored: 89
Upon seeing those two numbers, Alisa Shelby nearly wanted to throw the microphone in her hand. She could hardly keep the smile on her face. How could she be less impressive than Kiki? Looking further...
Maya Monroe’s eyes quickly scanned the screen. She wasn’t surprised at all that Kiki beat Alisa Shelby; there’s a reason the protagonist is called the protagonist...
The likely winner was Kiki Monroe.
Her eyes continued to sweep downward, suddenly pausing, her body stiffening.
"Maya Monroe actually got a hundred!" Bella Sanford was stunned: "It’s a perfect score! But come to think of it..."
She thought for a moment: "Not getting a perfect score would actually be hard to explain."
A perfect average score signifies what? It signifies that all the judges gave the highest score, considering everyone’s different aesthetic preferences, the appearance of a perfect score is almost unimaginable.
Brian Bennett said, "Next, let’s look at the rankings!"
As expected, Maya Monroe comfortably took the first position, with Kiki Monroe in second, followed by Miles Wallace, Leo Lancaster, and Alisa Shelby.
Brian Bennett was the first to clap, smiling as he said, "Congratulations Maya, for taking the first place! Successfully earning a point for the Red Team!"
After speaking, he pretended to be sad and said, "Last round, Maya also earned a point for the Red Team, it seems with Maya, winning for our Yellow Team will be tough..."
While the cheers from the stage and the audience soared, Maya hardly paid attention. She squinted her eyes, thinking. After winning this round, she must find a way to ensure Kiki wins the next one.
After the game ended, while resting backstage, Maya suddenly received a text from Ian Rowe.
Maya raised an eyebrow slightly, extremely astonished inside.
