The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 84: Professional Tent
Actually, their approach aligns with the norm because last season’s guests had no different ideas.
Jessica Young glanced in the direction of Maya Monroe, feeling a strong sense of superiority, and had even anticipated seeing Maya huddled pitifully by a tree.
But the reality was far beyond her expectations. She saw a pile of supplies beside Maya, not terrifying in quantity but neatly categorized. However, what shocked Jessica the most was the simple tent beside Maya.
It may be called simple, but it looked very professional.
Jessica instantly got furious and shouted at the staff, "What do you mean by this? If we could get outside help, why didn’t you tell us? This is unfair!"
The staff was dumbfounded by her question, "What outside help? I may not understand what you mean."
Jessica pursed her lips, thinking of another possibility, "Could it be... that tent is from a card Maya drew?"
This luck is just too good.
The staff finally understood what Jessica meant and said, "You might have misunderstood, Ms. Maya’s tent wasn’t obtained by asking for help from others, nor by drawing a card. It was her own doing."
Jessica’s expression twisted for a moment, almost unable to control her demeanor: "What did you say? Maya set it up herself? How is that possible?! Look at her tent, it’s certainly not a travel tent. Maya made this tent with materials on the spot! How could someone as sheltered as her, a big star, set up such a tent?!"
The staff, annoyed by Jessica’s aggressive tone, still replied politely, "Our show can guarantee that along with the thousands of live stream viewers, we can testify that the tent was indeed assembled by Ms. Maya herself."
Hearing mention of the viewers, Jessica’s expression finally softened a bit.
Justin Morgan, who was initially standing beside Jessica, suddenly moved to the side, feeling unlucky to be around such a person.
In that moment, he truly realized Jessica’s stupidity; previously, he had gotten closer to her because of her solid connections and promising future.
But now, looking at Jessica’s unappealing demeanor, Justin truly regretted even holding her hand earlier to fetch wood. He’s a rising star, and if there’s any CP speculation, he definitely wouldn’t choose someone like Jessica.
Jessica didn’t continue questioning and only hoped that the viewers in the live stream wouldn’t develop a dislike for her.
Miles Wallace’s clear blue eyes also looked towards Maya’s direction, but the girl not far away didn’t turn back, leaving only her graceful silhouette.
His gaze then shifted to the tent Maya had set up, his eyes slightly flickered, and eventually, there was some fluctuation.
As night fell, Justin and the others hurriedly cleaned up the camp.
Without experience, they naturally got flustered and unorganized, and arguments were breaking out continuously.
"This coconut is supposed to be saved for tomorrow. Do you understand? If you eat it now, what are we supposed to do tomorrow, drink the northwest wind?" It was Justin’s voice.
Jessica’s voice held a bit of grievance, still puzzled by Justin’s change of attitude towards her: "But I just want to eat this coconut. The wild fruit is sour and bitter. I don’t want to eat it at all! I’ll just eat this coconut. You guys can have the rest!"
Jamie Miller comforted her: "Because we haven’t found enough fresh water, and the coconut trees are too high and difficult to reach, this sole coconut is reserved for hydration. Jessica, you should eat the wild fruit first. Once the coconut is opened, we will definitely let you have some."
This time, Jessica didn’t relent.
Justin, infuriated by her, pointed at her and cursed, devoid of any grace.
Jamie, always the peacemaker, quickly stepped in to calm both of them down.
Nina Vance, feeling a bit scared, distanced herself from them.
Miles Wallace frustratedly covered his ears, his handsome brows furrowing, truly not used to being without earphones. The noisy sounds bombarded his mind incessantly.
Maya was at some distance from them and wasn’t aware of their situation, nor did she want to know.
In a moment, she heard Nina’s voice and then turned around.
Nina handed the red berries from her pocket to Maya: "Sister Maya, I saved these for you."
Maya glanced at them; she had tasted these wild fruits before, and they were too sour.
"You keep them, I don’t like eating these."
Nina examined Maya’s tent in awe, "Sister Maya, you’re really amazing. I can’t believe you set up such a professional tent; it’s like something out of the documentaries I’ve seen..." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Nina’s cheeks revealed dimples: "Sister Maya, you must have done a lot of homework, right?"
Maya admitted: "Went through quite a few books."
"You’re so diligent! And your learning ability is so strong!"
Maya didn’t know what to reply, so she stayed silent.
Nina stayed for a while longer and then left again because Jessica called her.
Jamie Miller held the lighter he picked; as night increasingly darkened, he felt uneasy seeing no fire from Maya’s side.
"I’ll go bring Maya the lighter."
Nina quickly nodded.
But just as he took a few steps, he saw Jessica blocking him.
"Jamie, let me take it instead."
In truth, Jessica’s intention was not to deliver the lighter to Maya, but voicing that might cost her the audience’s favor.
Jamie was somewhat hesitant, but Jessica had already snatched the lighter from his hand, marching aggressively towards Maya.
Maya crouched down and skillfully rubbed a sharpened stick on a pile of kindling quickly.
Her gaze was focused, exposing her calm, fair face.
When Jessica arrived, what she saw was Maya using a fire drill to ignite wood, and she found it extremely ridiculous.
"Using a fire drill? Look at you, like a savage. Do you really think you can make fire this way? Such scenes only happen in TV shows, and you actually believe it..."
"Shut up!" An impatient voice rang out, none other than Maya, still making the fire.
Jessica shook the lighter in her hand: "Are you really going to treat me this way? Look what I have in my hand? I’m here to give you a lighter, but your attitude..."
Maya felt incredibly annoyed; reliving experiences from her previous life was already bothering her, and Jessica was buzzing around like a pesky fly.
"Get out of my space! Don’t make me kick you out myself!"
Her words were far from polite.
Jessica saw Maya’s eyes full of hostility again, seemingly laced with sharp daggers.
She took a step back, feeling the same chilling sensation as in the morning.
Just when she was about to retort, she suddenly saw a spark leap onto the wood, particularly glaring in the darkening dusk.
