The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 586 - 597: Don’t Challenge Me (4)
Mia Ginger let out a sigh of relief.
Looking at Koa Jackson, she pondered, "Can I get discharged tomorrow?"
"Want to leave the hospital?" Koa Jackson asked.
"Yes." Mia nodded, "Didn’t you say I could be discharged? Maeve is with me, and I don’t know how long it will take. I can’t let her stay in the hospital forever."
"That’s true." Caiden Ward nodded, "I’ve never liked this place, the hospital."
Koa Jackson glanced at him and replied to Mia, "Then let’s arrange the discharge paperwork for tomorrow morning."
"Okay." Mia smiled.
She looked at Koa Jackson, pursed her lips and thought for a moment, then got off the bed to go next to him, leaning against his shoulder, "Let’s go outside, I have a few things to say."
"Okay." Koa Jackson responded, turning to leave first.
Aurora Cooper was wearing glasses, watching the evening news, and the hospital room was very quiet.
Caiden Ward then stepped over to sit beside Maeve Myres, leaning against the headboard, and lowered his eyes to observe her.
The little girl had a cute mushroom haircut, her small face round, chubby and pinkish, making people want to pinch it.
At the moment, she was sleeping, appearing quite well-behaved.
Her big eyes were tightly shut, with long, curly, dark eyelashes resembling little fans, making her even more endearing.
This girl—
Does she understand what death is, really?
Upon hearing the news of her parents’ death, she didn’t cry and would still constantly mention Miss Myres when speaking.
He could tell that Maeve was more attached to her mother than average children.
So—
Once she truly understands, will she change completely and no longer be the little girl she is now?
Caiden Ward found it hard to bear.
His finger brushed against her cheek, thinking about their only two previous meetings, feeling unusually heavy-hearted, and sighed softly.
Unconsciously, his finger moved to the corner of Maeve’s lips.
Maeve tilted her head, not knowing what she was thinking, directly biting his finger and started nibbling.
She was genuinely biting, it hurt.
Caiden Ward looked at her in surprise, enduring the pain as he tried to pull his finger away.
This girl, she probably mistook his finger for a chicken leg!
Caiden Ward tried to pull it out a couple of times, but couldn’t manage to free his finger, and afraid of waking her, he simply stopped trying.
Allowing Maeve to hold onto his finger.
Drool dripped from the corner of her lips, wetting his entire hand.
——
Outside the hospital room.
As soon as Mia Ginger went out, she turned sideways and hugged Koa Jackson’s waist tightly.
Her heart was a bit panicked.
This feeling had been there ever since Louis Cox said those words. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Why did you chase after me?"
"You knew me since you were eleven."
"All these years, was there not a single moment you liked me? I don’t believe it."
"I just used the wrong approach from the start."
"By doing this, are you tacitly approving?"
Every word and sentence, the more they echoed in her mind, the more anxious she felt.
She remembered every detail and event with Louis Cox, but why did she forget Koa Jackson specifically?
People subconsciously forget things and people they want to avoid; it should be something from the subconscious that they want to let go of, but for her, why was it specifically Koa Jackson?
Mia pursed her lips and asked, "Brother Jackson, was my car accident because of you?"
"Yes."
"Because of Dr. Chester?"
"Yes."
"Mm," Mia hesitated for a small moment, "Can you tell me about our past? My mind is blank, and I don’t like this feeling at all."
