The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 602 - 614 Five Days and Five Nights (3)
"You’re welcome," Koa Jackson said calmly.
Odin Myres reached out to Maeve with a smile, saying, "Come, let brother hold you for a bit."
"Oh." Maeve grinned and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Odin was only twelve years old, and it was a bit of a struggle to hold a chubby six-year-old girl, but he wasn’t willing to put her down. He turned his head and gently rubbed his cheek against Maeve’s cheek twice.
Maeve giggled twice.
Caiden Ward stood by silently for a long time before suddenly addressing Louis Cox, "If you go back, who do you plan to have look after this little girl?"
Even though the Myres Family was in a crisis period, and Louis Cox had Cesar Myres’s will and the support of Ari Murphy and other strong aides, the foundation was still relatively thin. He himself was already hard-pressed, how could he take care of a half-grown child?
Especially—
Both him and Odin, as well as Maeve, were facing significant safety concerns at present.
Louis Cox was momentarily taken aback, and said calmly, "I’ll take care of Maeve."
"Do you have the time?" Caiden raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Louis pressed his lips together, deep in thought.
Mia Ginger thought for a moment and smiled, "Why not let me take care of her? My mom really likes this little girl."
"Won’t you need to go to school in a few days?" Louis countered.
Mia was briefly stunned, furrowing her eyebrows slightly, and didn’t say anything for the moment.
Once she went to school, Aurora Cooper would become completely busy and wouldn’t be able to look after Maeve.
Leaving it to others was naturally not reassuring.
But—
With the Myres Family facing a lengthy period of turbulence ahead, Louis managing on his own would already be difficult, how could he possibly care for Maeve properly?
As she was deep in thought, Caiden Ward suddenly said from the side, "Why not leave it to me?"
"Huh?"
Everyone present was momentarily taken aback.
Caiden smiled and said, "I have more free time, and I get along well with this little girl. It’ll be easier to take care of her."
"You?" Louis was extremely surprised.
"Yes," Caiden raised an eyebrow, "If I take care of her, at the very least, her safety won’t be an issue."
Louis fell into deep thought.
Caiden bent down to pick up Maeve, smiling, "Do you want to come and play at Uncle Ward’s house?"
"Hmm." Maeve puffed out her cheeks and pondered seriously, then asked earnestly, "What fun things does Uncle Ward have at his house?"
Caiden smiled, imitating her earlier tone, "Uncle Ward’s house has two really big dogs."
"Two?" Maeve’s eyes lit up, "That’s one more than Sister Mia’s house."
"Do you want to go?" Caiden asked with a teasing smile.
"Yes!" Maeve turned her chubby little hand and looked at Odin, shaking it as she said, "Then I’ll go play at Uncle Ward’s house, and not go home with you guys."
Odin Myres: "..."
Louis Cox: "..."
Can this little girl not show herself to be so easily tempted?
Louis and Odin exchanged a look and asked, "What do you think about Maeve going to Uncle Ward’s house?"
"What do you think, Uncle?"
"I’m asking you." Louis’s expression was solemn.
Odin paused for a moment, nodded and said, "It’s not very safe at home right now, so let her go with Uncle Ward."
"Thank you, Uncle Ward," Odin said to Caiden Ward.
"You’re welcome," Caiden nodded.
Odin thought for a moment and reminded, "Maeve is well-behaved when it comes to eating, but she doesn’t like spicy foods, nor does she like tomatoes, beans, lotus root slices, vermicelli, golden needle mushrooms, and chicken, beef, or lamb. Basically, she doesn’t like vegetables and meats that are hard to chew. Among fruits, she loves watermelon, longan, and lychee. The longan and lychee need to be shelled and seeded before giving them to her; otherwise, she’ll cry if she can’t open them. Maeve is also well-behaved when she sleeps, but she talks a lot before bed and in the morning after waking up. Uncle Ward needs to talk with her more. Kids always like to ask why; Maeve most dislikes hearing ’no reason’ in response, so be patient when she asks. And also..."
