The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 638 - 654
"Mm, you should go to bed early too." Mia Ginger also sighed in relief, got up, and went back to her room.
Behind her—
Aurora Cooper watched her walk away and sighed helplessly.
She started thinking again about the meeting between the two families.
Feeling frustrated, she took out her phone, intending to call Aiden Jiang.
Aiden’s dinner party had already ended. He was lounging lazily against the back seat of the car, resting with his eyes closed when his phone, tossed beside him, rang. He turned to pick it up and answered directly, "Hello?"
"Are you free now?" Aurora’s gentle voice reached his ear.
"There’s no inconvenience, go ahead." Aiden sat up straight, holding the phone to talk to her.
Aurora hesitated a bit, then slowly said, "Old Master Jackson has already learned about Mia and Dr. Jackson getting their marriage license. Old Master Jackson’s idea is that he hopes the two families can meet. What do you think?"
"Sure." Aiden responded, "I’m planning to return to Cloud Capital early next month."
"Okay." Aurora replied, with nothing else to add.
Aiden was puzzled, "What’s wrong?"
"Just about the meeting." Aurora said with a bitter smile, "My relationship with Mia cannot be made public."
In other words, she couldn’t meet the Jacksons as Mia’s mother.
But—
Clearly, she hoped to take charge for Mia as her mother.
Aiden fell into thought for a moment, then spoke in a low and gentle tone, "I do have an idea."
"What?" Aurora asked.
Aiden switched the hand holding the phone and casually proposed, "We get married."
Get married? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Aurora was taken aback.
She remained silent.
Aiden could hear her light breathing, so he continued, "If we get married, Mia naturally becomes your daughter. But you’re aware of my situation; besides Mia, there’s Bob Ginger. If you’re willing, consider it."
The suggestion was too sudden, and Aurora took quite a while to process it.
Aiden’s intention was for her to become Mia and Bob’s nominal stepmother.
At least—
In the eyes of outsiders, she would play the role of a stepmother.
But a stepmother is still a mother and can naturally meet the Jacksons as Mia’s mother.
This idea was feasible.
However—
The thought of suddenly getting married made Aurora feel conflicted.
Aiden didn’t pressure her, chuckling warmly, speaking softly, "This is just a suggestion. Consider it yourself. If you think it’s possible, when I return in a few days, we’ll finalize it. If not, it doesn’t matter. Just pretend I didn’t say anything, don’t overthink it."
"Got it." Aurora was thoughtful.
"Let’s leave it at that for now." Aiden said, "I’ll call you in advance when I’m back."
"Mm." Aurora hung up the phone, carefully considering his earlier suggestion.
Aiden also hung up the phone, addressing Mason Sutton, who was driving, "How’s the new house situation?"
"I’ve checked out three places." Mason’s voice was gentle, "They’re all newly renovated homes. I took a look at the pictures; they all seem good. You’ll need to assess them in person when you get back."
"Alright." Aiden nodded.
Mason glanced at him through the rearview mirror, smiling, "In a good mood?"
Aiden chuckled, "You can tell?"
"If I couldn’t even discern that much, I wouldn’t be working with you." Mason had one hand on the steering wheel, driving smoothly, his voice carrying a smile, as gentle as a spring breeze.
