The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 652 - 670 Too Impulsive (5)
"Mm." Everyone responded in unison, and Aurora nodded in agreement.
After a while, Aiden Jiang spoke again, "I’m over at Peace’s place right now, and I’m at ease knowing you’re all staying here. Bob Ginger will be going abroad for university in three months, make sure to work hard. Mia Ginger should aim to go abroad with Bob, so you can look out for each other. I’ve already sold the Ginger Family property and bought a new one; the furnishings aren’t decided yet, so if you want to take a look, we can go over another day and have a look for some opinions. It’s not like I can stay here for three to five years at Peace’s place; when I transfer back, we’ll move again."
"Oh." Mia Ginger nodded in response.
Bob Ginger took a moment to process this, then looked at Mia Ginger, "Sis, you’re going abroad with me?"
The voice was full of joy.
"Mm." Mia Ginger nodded, "I’m preparing to apply for an exchange spot at Johnson University, but the competition might be tough, so it’s not certain yet."
Her grades were average; mainly because Mathematics, English, and Geography weren’t her strengths.
However, her major course scores were exceptional, and she smoothly got into this major at Cloud Capital University; it was a very correct choice.
Except for English, all her major courses were a piece of cake, she was quite adept.
After putting in effort, her English improved.
But at the moment—
Thinking about the mere three months ahead, Mia Ginger felt quite pressured.
——
After dinner.
Aiden Jiang went back to his room to wash up.
It was Saturday, so everyone else was relatively free.
Gathered in the living room watching an entertainment reality show for a while, Aurora Cooper suggested the four of them play mahjong.
Mia Ginger, having grown up in a place like Eastern Peak Village, naturally knew a little, but Bob Ginger was a complete outsider. Unable to resist Margot’s persistent pulling and persuading, the four of them went to the entertainment room to play mahjong.
Not long after, they were having a blast.
Aiden Jiang, after showering and changing into the loungewear prepared by Aurora, came out only to find no one.
He asked Nanny Adams and finally found the four of them playing mahjong in the entertainment room.
Aurora was enthusiastic but lacked the skills, losing so much that her face turned red after a while.
Aiden Jiang entered the room, stood behind her watching for a while, and couldn’t help but laugh.
Another round passed, and Aurora simply waved her hand and said, "Not playing, not playing, it’s late, I’m going to have my beauty sleep."
Her mannerisms were playful and coy, hardly like a mother.
With Aiden Jiang there, the others refrained from teasing her, gathered their things, and went out one by one.
Mia Ginger was heading back to school the next afternoon, so she went straight to her room to pack. Aiden Jiang had work to do, and Aurora took him to the study, but Bob Ginger wasn’t sleepy at all, so he went to lie on a lounge chair in the garden to look at the stars.
Soon after, Margot came to him, smiling and asked, "Feeling down?"
"No." Bob Ginger replied in a flat tone, not looking at her.
"You’re just being stubborn." Margot pouted, lying on another lounge chair next to him.
Bob Ginger turned his head to glance at her, but said nothing.
Margot looked at the sparsely scattered stars in the night sky, thoughtfully remarked, "Godmother is really a great person, very down-to-earth, always polite and kind to everyone around, it’s truly rare."
"I know." Bob Ginger replied.
"But you’re still a bit upset."
"I’m not upset." Bob Ginger said earnestly, "I know it’s not their fault, but my mom’s, it’s just that..."
Bob Ginger’s voice lowered, "Accepting it takes some time."
"I understand." Margot nodded, smiled broadly, and reclined on the chair, humming a tune of an English pastoral folk song. The melody was beautiful, flowing past Bob Ginger’s ear like a brook, and soon, his slight discontent faded away.
