The Tyrant Is A Little Bit Kind-Chapter 86: Riana Mission 1
Chapter 86: Riana Mission 1
(Third Person POV)
The year 2032, September 13, according to the global calendar.
In the capital of the Tirshtain Empire, inside the Imperial Palace.
Inside the emperor’s office, two people sat across from each other as they spoke.
"Riana, a few days ago when we were talking, you seemed tense. I want to know if you’re hiding something from me."
Orlax placed his hand on the desk, tapping it slowly as he looked at Riana, who sat in front of him.
"This..."
She opened her mouth as if to say something but quickly turned her gaze away and remained silent.
The Sword Spirit floated in the air, placing her hand on her forehead when she saw Riana’s behavior, which clearly showed she was hiding something.
[The Sword Spirit says you should give her some time to tell you herself what she’s hiding.]
The little red-haired girl landed on his shoulder with a wide smile on her face.
’How annoying. Even Alice couldn’t figure out what Riana is hiding.’
Orlax looked at the girl on his shoulder, several guesses forming in his mind.
’Maybe this girl did something that blocked Alice’s ability, like I did.’
"Well, well... tell me when you’re ready. More importantly, I have a mission for you."
There was a look of gratitude on Riana’s face before her expression turned serious, focusing on his words.
"A few months ago, Armanthor and I eliminated the Red Moon group. However, a faction of them refused to surrender and fled to the northern part of the Empire."
A bad feeling rose in Riana’s chest as she listened to these words.
"Don’t tell me..."
"Yes, they might be in the Elin Barony right now."
As soon as Riana heard this, she stood up quickly from her chair, clenching her fists tightly in anger.
"Damn it! I’m going there right away!"
She moved toward the door to leave, but a voice behind her stopped her.
"Why are you always so reckless? Sigh, you won’t go alone. Take some people with you. Alex will accompany you as well. You’re the Empress now—you can’t just run off alone."
"Huh? But you always travel alone! Why can’t I do the same?"
Riana furrowed her brows and looked at Orlax with annoyance.
"I can travel across the continent in just a few hours. Is that a good enough reason?"
Riana placed her hand over her mouth, thinking about his words, then nodded.
"Fair enough! I’ll depart at 5 PM, which is in two hours. Excuse me now, I’ll go prepare my things."
"Good luck."
After Riana left the office, silence filled the room for a moment.
"Why are you still here? You should go after her."
Orlax turned to the side, where the Sword Spirit sat on his shoulder.
[The Sword Spirit sighs and says it’s easy to deceive Riana with a few words.]
"Isn’t it?"
A faint smile appeared on his face as he leaned back in his chair, staring at the door through which Riana had just left.
Two hours later, Riana had packed everything she needed and headed to the airport to board the aircraft Alex had prepared for her.
Inside the plane, five people sat in their seats, waiting for takeoff.
"Alright, I’ll explain the reason we’re heading to Elin Barony since I couldn’t earlier due to time constraints."
Riana spoke while sitting alone in her seat, with the four others sitting nearby.
"The Red Moon organization, which was destroyed a few months ago by the Emperor and the Grand Duke, has some members who escaped north and are now trying to rebuild it."
After seeing everyone focused on her words, she continued.
"Our goal is to find them and eliminate them before they hurt the citizens. Any questions?"
A young woman with brown hair and honey-colored eyes raised her hand.
"I have a question—not a complaint or anything—but I’m curious. Why are we handling this mission, especially with the Empress herself involved? Isn’t this something for the knights of Elin Barony?"
The woman looked to be in her mid-twenties, with a relatively attractive face and a body that showed signs of training.
She was one of the Imperial Guards, primarily responsible for the safety of the royal family.
Riana had built a good relationship with her during her time at the palace, which earned her trust, and so Riana requested her presence on this trip.
Zaria had already reached graduate level and was considered strong compared to other guards.
"Well, it’s an order from the Emperor, and I personally wanted to go there. Any other questions?"
"What information do we have on them? How many are there? Where were they last seen?"
This time, it was a man in his mid-thirties who spoke.
This was Marcus, also one of the Imperial Guards Riana brought with her.
Although he wasn’t exceptionally powerful—his strength level was advanced—he was highly skilled in intelligence and reconnaissance.
"To be honest, I don’t have any intel except that they’re in Elin Barony. We’ll see what happens when we get there."
Marcus nodded and leaned back in his seat.
The aircraft’s engines began to hum, and soon it took off into the sky.
The flight was smooth, and after about two hours in the air, the plane arrived at its destination.
As soon as Riana stepped off the plane, she saw snow covering everything in sight and smelled the scent that filled her with nostalgia.
"It feels like it’s been years since I was here, even though I left just a few months ago."
She stood still for a moment, lost in memories, then shook her head and moved forward.
"Let’s go."
The five of them walked through the city streets, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Isn’t that Riana?"
"Yes... what brought her here?"
Everyone on the street stared at her until a small boy suddenly ran up.
"Sister Riana! You’re back!"
He hugged her leg, causing Riana to stop and look at him.
The guards behind her moved forward to remove him, but Riana gestured for them to stop.
"Hello, little John. How are you?"
Before the boy could answer, a woman’s voice rang out from behind, causing Riana to turn.
"You little brat! Get away from her—she’s the Empress now. You can’t speak to her like that!"
The middle-aged woman scolded the boy and pulled him away from Riana.
"Apologies, Your Majesty. He’s just a little boy."
"Oh, come on, Aunt Maria. Do you really think a mere title like Empress will make me a different person? I’m still the same Riana."
Riana turned to the people watching from afar and shouted at them.
"And you guys too! Don’t act like scared kittens. Since when were the people of Elin Barony such cowards? Come on, everyone!"
Hearing her words, wide smiles spread across their faces as they rushed toward her. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"Hey Riana, how are you?"
"Riana, let’s have a duel! I’ve gotten stronger since our last fight!"
The crowd quickly surrounded her and began speaking excitedly while Riana responded with just as much energy.
The three guards and Alex stood nearby, watching the scene with surprise on their faces.
"When was the last time you saw a member of the royal family talk to people so comfortably?"
The orange-haired, black-eyed guard named Zack spoke as he looked at the people chatting with Riana.
"Never. The royal family usually acts like they’re above everyone. Doing something like this would be an insult to their pride."
Marcus responded with a faint smile on his face.
"This is... nice."
The quiet man finally spoke, causing everyone to turn toward him.
"Oh-ho! You’ve finally decided to talk. I thought you didn’t speak at all!"
Zaria elbowed Alex in the stomach while teasing him, but he remained silent, ignoring her comment.
After some time, people began to return to their daily routines, and only the boy and his mother remained near Riana.
"Alright, I want you to tell me about the city’s current situation. Is my uncle doing a good job managing it?"
"Well... he’s not bad, but he’s nowhere near your father. Your dad was much better."
A sad look appeared on Riana’s face as she remembered her father, but she quickly shook the thoughts away.
"That’s good. If anything goes wrong here, let me know immediately. Otherwise, next time I come here, I’ll beat you all up, got it?"
She said the last part loudly, causing everyone around to shiver and nod quickly.
"Ha ha ha, you haven’t changed at all."
"Of course not! Did you think staying in the capital for a while would soften me?"
Riana shook her head with a big smile on her face.
"Well, I won’t bother you any longer. You must have important business to come here. See you later."
"Goodbye."
Riana waved at her as she walked away with her son, then turned to the four people behind her.
They were all standing with faint smiles—except for Alex, who wore his usual blank expression.
"What are you all smiling at like fools? Let’s go—we have work to do."
The four nodded and followed Riana as she headed toward the Elin family residence.
