THE USELESS PRINCE-Chapter 42: Coldness and Darkness

Coldness and darkness were two of the most terrifying and dangerous pairs in this world.

The cold would give people a slow and extremely painful death, making them want to die but unable to and have to continue to endure this dreadful torture.

Meanwhile, darkness would extinguish all light, which meant that all hope of survival and escape would disappear.

In the darkness, people would only feel fear and despair. They wanted to escape from there, but unfortunately, that was impossible with eternal darkness.

And ironically, that was also the situation that Ash was going through.

As soon as he opened his eyes, the first scene that hit his vision was... nothing.

He only saw darkness and darkness. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hearing Ash’s familiar voice, Canis couldn’t help but give him a warm and passionate hug immediately.

Ash could feel Canis’s body quivering, and this was his way of making him feel more secure. It seemed that unlike Ash, Dragon Slayer was much more frightened.

He patted the back of the person who would later destroy the entire dragon race as if he was coaxing a child.

But unlike the voice Ash heard before, this voice belonged to a woman, not a man.

Moreover, she seemed to be extremely tired and had lost all will to live.

"Who are you?" Ash quickly let go of Dragon Slayer.

"Who... am I? To be honest, I don’t remember anymore. I’ve been down here for too long..." Her mood still hadn’t improved at all, and was even getting worse.

Understanding what she said, Ash decided not to dig deeper into this girl’s past.

But, he still needed to know some necessary information.

"Then where are we? Do you know where this is?"

"..." Silence was all he got in return. She probably didn’t know the answer.

It was only natural, someone who couldn’t even remember their own name, how could they remember where this place was.

However... she definitely remembered who had put them in this situation, right?

And just like last time, it still sounded vicious and unpleasant. It definitely belonged to a villain.

Ash and Canis raised their guard at the same time, but it seemed that the girl was not doing the same as them.

She was crying like a newborn baby, kept saying some words that no one could understand, and kept hurting herself as soon as she heard that man’s voice.

This made Ash and Canis’s goosebumps.

Although in this darkness, Ash couldn’t tell what kind of expression he was wearing, but he could almost tell that the man felt as if he was watching a pet.
