Chapter 137: Chapter 137: You Watch My Live Stream?

The man exuded an air of nobility. An unintentional hint of arrogance and disdain showed between his brows. With just one glance, Caleb Bishop knew they were from different worlds. That man was a true scion of a wealthy family.

It was as if a spice rack had been overturned in his heart; Caleb Bishop’s feelings were a complex, indescribable mess.

Recalling the intimate way the other two had behaved, his headache grew unbearable.

Jeanette Kensington’s exquisite, beautiful cuffs were wrinkled from the earlier struggle. She smoothed them out again and again, her voice tinged with anger. "This is outrageous! How could they just throw a customer out like that?!" She pulled out her phone. "I’m going to call and file a complaint!"

Caleb Bishop took her hand and slowly shook his head. "They must have planned this together. It’s no use."

Jeanette Kensington deflated in an instant. Then, as if a thought struck her, she said, "Was that really Ethan Shaw just now? It wasn’t some actor Naomi Kenway hired, was it?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Jeanette Kensington knew next to nothing about Ethan Shaw. He was notoriously elusive, and it was said he loathed being photographed by the media. He kept an extremely low profile, almost never participating in financial interviews. The events he attended most were business-related banquets, but since he hadn’t been back in the country for the past few years, Jeanette naturally had never met him.

"I, on the other hand, think it was him," Caleb Bishop murmured, meticulously straightening Jeanette Kensington’s slightly askew collar.

Jeanette Kensington’s feelings of unfairness vanished completely. ’The wealthier the family, the more rules there are. The Shaw family are all incredibly shrewd; Naomi Kenway’s life probably won’t be easy after marrying into it. I’m the lucky one. Caleb Bishop is handsome and talented, and most importantly, he’s so considerate of me.’ Jeanette Kensington truly couldn’t find a single fault in him.

With this thought, the warmth returned to Jeanette Kensington’s face. "Caleb, didn’t you say you wanted to get involved in the company’s management? I’ve already spoken to my dad, but you know..." Her tone became troubled. "My dad has a strange temper. He’s very guarded..."

Jeanette Kensington couldn’t bear to see Caleb Bishop hurt, so she quickly added, "But don’t worry, I’ve already asked my mom to help persuade him. When we go home this time, we’ll have to say a lot of nice things to him, to make the old man happy."

A gentle expression washed over Caleb Bishop’s face. He said softly, "Thank you, Jan. You’ve done so much for me. I really don’t know how to thank you."

Jeanette Kensington felt like she could drown in his gentle eyes. She shook her head shyly. "Why are you being so polite with me? Your business is my business, isn’t it? If you really want to thank me, then... just hurry up and marry me."

Naomi Kenway and Ian were in the back seat. She gazed at the broad, straight back of the man in front, and as if remembering something, she asked, "You’re so busy with work. I didn’t expect you to come. How did you know I’d be back at this time?"

"I’ve been watching your live streams."

The words hit her like a thunderclap. Naomi Kenway was visibly stunned. She looked toward Ethan Shaw. "You watch my live streams?"

Perhaps it was because the car’s stereo was too loud, but Ethan Shaw’s voice suddenly sounded a little distant. "I watch them occasionally, when I have free time."

"I thought you were only interested in business magazines. I never expected you to like watching entertainment variety shows."

"Mommy, thirsty..."

Naomi Kenway quickly handed him a bottle of water, twisting the cap off before giving it to Ian.

The image of the difficult Jane Chandler came to mind, and Naomi Kenway suddenly felt a headache coming on. She cracked open the car window, letting the cool wind blow her worries away.

But soon, Naomi Kenway sensed that something was off. "Ethan Shaw, this isn’t the way to the old residence, is it?"

"I think you two need to rest. We’ll go over in the evening."

Naomi Kenway found that a little strange. Ethan Shaw had clearly said he was picking them up to go to the old residence. ’Oh, well. I’m not going to overthink it.’

Her slightly groggy mind was indeed tired. Naomi Kenway leaned her head against the seat behind her and fell asleep in no time.

The car drove into a manor. Ian Shaw, sitting in his child seat, stared at Naomi Kenway beside him with wide eyes. "Mommy seems to be asleep."

Ethan Shaw pressed his thumb to his lips. "Mommy is very tired. Let’s not disturb her rest, okay?"

Ian Shaw nodded, his big, watery eyes still fixed on Naomi Kenway.

"Good boy," Ethan Shaw praised him.

Ethan Shaw unbuckled his seatbelt. After a moment’s hesitation, he bent down, lifted Naomi Kenway out of the car in his arms, and then strode forward.

"Daddy! Daddy! Ian can’t keep up!" Ian’s little legs pumped furiously.

Ethan Shaw stopped. As if remembering something, he glanced at the butler.

The butler bent down and picked Ian up.

Ian Shaw wrapped his arms around the butler’s neck, his fair cheeks flushed slightly. His eyes were full of envy. "Grandpa Butler, will Ian grow up to be tall? As tall as Daddy!"

The butler, after a slight pause, said, "You certainly will."

In just a moment, his father’s figure was out of sight. The butler was a man of few words, so Ian had no choice but to entertain himself by looking at the exquisitely carved walls nearby.

When Naomi Kenway woke up, she found herself already in a bedroom. She had no memory of getting out of the car. ’Could Ethan Shaw have carried me out?’

The thought had no sooner formed than Naomi Kenway dismissed it. ’Ethan Shaw is a germaphobe. He can’t stand me.’

Four hours had passed without her realizing it. Her stomach signaled its hunger.

Naomi Kenway didn’t have much of an appetite and asked the chef to just cook some plain rice porridge.

Glancing upstairs, Naomi Kenway asked, "What is Ian doing? Has he eaten?"

Nanny Warren replied, "Ian was playing with building blocks downstairs a moment ago. He should be upstairs playing with the nanny now."

Naomi Kenway nodded. After finishing her meal, she headed upstairs and nearly collided with Liam Sherman.

Liam Sherman apologized, "I’m sorry, Madam. I was in a bit of a hurry. Are you alright?"

Naomi Kenway waved her hand. "I’m fine. Are you here to see Ethan Shaw?"

"Yes, I’ve just finished my discussion with President Shaw." With that, he bid Naomi Kenway farewell.

After descending the stairs, Liam Sherman glanced back in Naomi Kenway’s direction. He remembered that Ethan Shaw had canceled a meeting today just to pick up his wife and child.

Naomi Kenway went upstairs and played games with Ian for a while. A moment later, there was a knock on the door, and Ethan Shaw came in. "It’s time for us to go see Grandma."

After changing her clothes, Naomi Kenway took Ian and left with Ethan Shaw.

Before they even stepped into the living room, she heard bursts of cheerful laughter from inside. The voices sounded a little unfamiliar, and Naomi Kenway paused for a moment.

Ethan Shaw said, "That must be my aunt in there."

On the sofa, two women with similar features were deep in animated conversation. On a separate sofa sat Luke Lowell. He looked as if he’d been dragged there and forced to play the part; his hands were clasped on his lap, and he didn’t dare to move.

Even so, Jane Chandler pointed at him and said, "Luke Lowell is just preposterous! It’s one thing for him to clamor about becoming a celebrity, but look at his hair—it’s far too unconventional. What kind of man has hair that long, and silver at that? He doesn’t look like a young master from a prestigious family at all!"
