The Villain Reborn as Game's Final Boss-Chapter 64: Auditorium
"Hey! You got admitted too."
"Yeah. I seemed to have lucked out."
"Nah. Puff your chest, man!"
The students kept chatting with each other in a huge auditorium.
The results were out, and the students currently here were the ones who had been admitted to the Academy.
The staff members were moving in and out of the place, preparing for the program to be held soon.
Though the results were out, the rankings were still left to be released.
Nobles and commoners alike were waiting for the ranks to be disclosed.
After all, these ranks would decide which class they would be allotted to.
Namda had a basic class structure, dividing the students according to their exam scores.
The higher one ranked, the better class they would get to study in.
Each class had a predetermined budget, with the highest classes getting the largest share of the budget.
This system was introduced to keep the competitive spirit alive in all students.
If a student ranked well on the entrance test, but his performance dropped later...
The result would be his demotion to a lower-ranked class.
For commoners, this system wasn’t of much importance...
Because in most cases, getting admitted to Namda in itself was a huge victory for them.
Going by the facts, even the lowest-ranked class in Namda had the best features compared to the best academies across the world.
As for the nobles, this system was a hell.
They had to maintain their ranks, and even try to improve them—not for better facilities, though that was a bonus for them...
The major reason being—these ranks determined the standing of their respective noble houses across the planet.
If an heir ranked well in the entrance test, but his scores fell later, resulting in him having to switch classes...
Well, the consequences were then disastrous for him as well as his family, as they would surely become a laughingstock in society.
The nobles wouldn’t talk badly about them to their faces—
No.
Every noble had a pride to follow, which certainly wouldn’t allow such childish behaviour.
But behind their backs, the humiliation suffered would be a death’s bell for them.
The seats across the auditorium were filled according to the status of the students.
Though the academy promoted equality on its grounds...
Well... no one was stupid enough to offend a powerhouse just because they had received a false sense of equality here.
The front seats were occupied by the heirs to the various empires, including the representatives of all the races that resided in Jutan.
Humans, Vampires, Elves, Dwarves, and Werewolves being the major races of the world.
The other races, though in the minority, enjoyed equal treatment similar to what the major dominant races had.
Not because these minor races were strong...
But due to them being royalty, no matter how weak compared to the real heavyweights.
Just behind them were the various heirs of the dukedoms under those empires.
In the case of the Veltran Empire, the Veltran royals were accompanied by the Frosts—Alicia and Kevin.
The other duke heirs sat behind them, but the Frosts sat alongside the royals...
Not only because the Frosts shared a good relationship with House Veltra, but also due to the Frosts being one of the strongest dukedoms in the entire world.
Many argued that if the relationship between the Veltras and the Frosts had not been so good, then the Veltran Empire would already have been submerged in a civil war like anything seen before.
The Frosts had that kind of power, but chose not to exercise it.
That was the reason the Veltran Empire was one of the strongest empires in the world, with two Titans standing together to fight against anything that dared to threaten their soil.
Diana sat with her usual grace, every movement refined beyond mere elegance.
With grey eyes complementing her already beautiful face, she was the epitome of what one could call the perfect creation of the gods.
Flicking her silver hair, Diana turned to look at Alicia, who hadn’t spoken much since arriving in the auditorium.
"Worried about your rank?"
Kevin turned his attention to the conversation, hoping to join in.
Honestly, he felt left out sitting with two beauties by his side.
"It’s just annoying to sit here waiting for the results to be shown. Couldn’t they have displayed the results on the message boards?"
Alicia gave a light sigh.
"Such dramatics."
Diana chuckled in response.
She and Alicia had been friends since childhood.
Being from two of the most powerful houses in the empire had always limited the circle of people they could talk to.
Though they had good relations with hundreds of other noble heirs, those friendships were only in name.
There were few people in the empire they could speak freely with.
"I would bet Alicia ranking higher than me."
Kevin gave a forced enthusiastic reply.
"My genius sister. Hahaha."
"..."
Alicia just stared at Kevin’s hand that was close to her face in a high-five gesture.
Kevin just kept his hand high in the air, hoping for a reciprocal action.
Alicia’s mood swings were a common occurrence for him.
Even when he had not committed any sort of mistake, he had to remedy the situation in time.
If not, then only he knew what consequences awaited him.
Slap!
Seeing the awkward silence, Diana took it upon herself to return Kevin’s uplifting try.
The other royals just observed the exchange in silence, not interested in commenting on the dynamics between the Veltrans.
For a dukedom to have a similar standing to the royalty was something that they couldn’t even dream of in their own empires.
"Cough... cough... Everyone’s attention, please!"
A female in her thirties stood on the stage. She had a cheerful smile on her face.
While she stood there waiting to get the full attention of the students, the chairs behind her were being filled as the big shots of the academy took their place.
The ceremony had just begun.
