The Villainess Cannot Escape — Five Beast Husbands Chase Her Madly-Chapter 80: Night Abyss’s Counsel: Fox, You Are Also Her Beast Husband
"That damned cat. He’s getting better and better at putting on a show for our Female Master."
Night Abyss gritted his teeth, his dark red, slitted pupils flashing with a dangerous light. "Don’t you get smug."
"I’ll make you understand which beast is most worthy of standing by our Female Master’s side."
The thought of Ying Jiuyao’s smug display moments ago fanned the flames of jealousy in his heart, and his Long Zhua carved deep marks into the wall.
"The title of first Beast Husband can only be mine."
"Tsk, tsk. Jealousy is such an ugly look on a certain dragon."
Fei Zhao leaned against the wall, his red fox ears twitching as his lips curved into a smirk.
Night Abyss retracted his Long Zhua and glared at him menacingly. "What’s that supposed to mean? Did you come here just to laugh at me?"
"I’m not that idle."
Fei Zhao’s gaze swept over the new dragon horns on Night Abyss’s head. He straightened his posture and asked with a serious expression,
"Have your genes really returned to 3S?"
"Yes!"
Night Abyss’s eyes softened, the corners of his mouth turning up uncontrollably. His voice was as sweet as honeyed sugar.
"Anan is wonderful. She’s the best Female Master. No other female would sacrifice herself to save her Beast Husband like she did..."
"Did you pick the wrong person to brag to?"
Fei Zhao crossed his arms, his expression full of scorn.
Night Abyss’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and veins bulged on his claws.
He forced the words out, "You’re one of her Beast Husbands too..."
"You want me to stay by her side?"
Fei Zhao raised an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting this gloomy, unhinged dragon would actually want him to stay.
Every muscle in Night Abyss’s body tensed. His dragon tail slammed against the ground with a heavy THUD.
His instincts screamed at him to drive Fei Zhao away and claim the Female Master for himself.
But then he remembered Su An’an’s pale face, the Big Cat’s blood-soaked clothes, and the sight of the mermaid and the Red Fox teaming up to save him.
It made him realize that only an alliance of the powerful could protect their Female Master.
"If it hadn’t been for you all this time, Anan and I might have perished in that rotting nest..."
Night Abyss’s voice was so hoarse it was on the verge of breaking, and his newly grown left arm trembled uncontrollably.
"I don’t want to see her fall into danger again."
He looked up, his slitted pupils filled with pain and conflict. "You’re strong, and you care about her."
Fei Zhao’s fox ears suddenly stiffened, and a storm of complex emotions churned in his eyes.
There was resentment, anger, unwillingness, and also a hint of indescribable regret.
"Care about her?"
He let out a cold laugh, his voice laced with sharp barbs.
"She severed my nine tails, which kept me from avenging my mother."
"Do you think I can stay by her side as if nothing happened?"
"Besides, I already have a female I wish to protect."
Night Abyss froze for a moment. "You mean Lord Jiu Su?"
"Yes."
Fei Zhao affirmed softly, his long, thick lashes hiding the insincerity in his eyes.
A fine, needle-like pain pricked at his heart.
’Whatever. I’ll just let them think I like Jiu Su.’
’That way, I can leave in peace, with nothing holding me back.’
Night Abyss’s brow furrowed tightly. "But you don’t even know where she is or what she looks like."
Lord Jiu Su may be powerful, but she’s too mysterious.
She’s like the mist in the valley, a cloud on the horizon.
Impossible to see clearly, impossible to touch.
"It doesn’t matter. I don’t care."
Fei Zhao’s devil-may-care smile returned. "For Lord Jiu Su’s sake, if Su An’an is ever in real danger, I won’t sit idly by."
"But that’s it. She and I... we can’t go back."
He gazed in the direction Su An’an had disappeared, his lips twisting into a self-deprecating smirk.
"I’d rather stand by Lord Jiu Su’s side. At least there, I won’t have to fret over every little thing or live in constant fear."
After a long silence, Night Abyss finally spoke in a somber tone, "I respect your choice. I hope you don’t regret it."
With that, he turned and strode away.
Fei Zhao stood rooted to the spot, gazing down the empty corridor for a long, long time.
In the White Tiger’s bedroom, the air was thick with the scent of Tequila.
Ying Jiuyao’s shadow fell over Su An’an, looming like that of a giant beast.
He knelt on one knee before Su An’an, looking like a pouting Big Cat.
His fiercely handsome face was scrunched up, his Gilded Beast Eyes were watery, and his voice was filled with grievance.
"Anan, my chest hurts so much. Hurry up and heal me."
Torn between exasperation and amusement, Su An’an reached out and ruffled his short, silver-white hair.
"The great White Tiger Commander, and you’re afraid of a little scratch?"
Despite her words, she still leaned down and gently pressed a kiss to the wound on his chest.
Her tongue carefully licked over the scab.
A contented purr rumbled in Ying Jiuyao’s throat, but he relentlessly pulled her into an embrace, nuzzling his nose against her neck.
"Not enough. I want you to belong only to me. I don’t want to smell that Poison Dragon’s scent on you."
The Big Cat held the back of Su An’an’s head and forcefully parted her lips.
His kiss was domineering and intense, as if he were pouring all his insecurity and possessiveness into it.
The scent of Tequila followed his path down her neck.
His fangs nibbled gently at the scratch marks on her skin, as if to completely erase any trace of the Poison Dragon.
Su An’an wrapped her arms around his neck, murmuring sweetly, "Big Cat, be gentle!"
Ying Jiuyao’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and his long index finger eagerly slid under the hem of her clothes, only to freeze abruptly when it touched the wound on her waist.
A terrible memory suddenly assaulted him.
The image of Su An’an lying against a rock wall, her body covered in wounds, flashed before his eyes. Her pupils, filmed over with a grayish haze, had looked lifeless.
His handsome face turned deathly pale in an instant, and fear seized his heart like an invisible hand.
"What’s wrong?"
Su An’an quickly checked his wound. "Is it hurting?"
"I should be the one asking you that. Does it still hurt?"
The Big Cat carefully stroked the wound on her waist.
"It stopped hurting a long time ago."
Ever since her constitution improved to A Level, her old wounds had mostly healed.
The Big Cat buried his face in her hair, trembling. His voice was laced with a paranoid viciousness.
"I’m going to guard you. If anyone dares to touch you, I’ll kill them."
"Don’t say such foolish things!"
Su An’an cupped Ying Jiuyao’s chiseled, handsome face in her hands and said earnestly,
"Ying Jiuyao, you’re the White Tiger Commander and a Guardian of the Empire. The front lines need you more than I do."
"This was just an accident. I’m stronger than you think. I can protect myself."
Ying Jiuyao’s tail flicked irritably, and he helplessly buried his head in her shoulder.
"Why can’t you be selfish like other Female Masters?"
"Just chain me to your side and to hell with the Empire."
"When the nest is overturned, no egg remains unbroken."
Su An’an stroked the Big Cat’s silver-white hair and said in a low voice,
"It’s thanks to you and Lan Cangming guarding the front lines that we can sleep soundly at night. If the front line collapses..."
She suddenly trailed off as horrific scenes from the original novel exploded in her mind.
The White Tiger and the mermaid were brutally defeated and lost their ability to fight, leading to the collapse of the Empire’s defensive line and its complete occupation by the Rebel Army.
’There’s no way I’ll let that happen.’
"You little minx, you always know just what to say to placate me."
The Big Cat’s tail wrapped tightly around her calf, and he pressed a heavy, Tequila-scented kiss to her lips.
When the kiss ended, he carefully buttoned her clothes. The pad of his finger brushed the corner of her lips as he said in a mock-threatening tone,
"When you’re fully recovered, I’ll teach you a proper lesson."
"Why wait?"
Su An’an threw her arms around the Big Cat’s neck.
Ying Jiuyao’s Gilded Beast Eyes lit up in an instant, and his tail slipped under the hem of her clothes, slithering downward...
