The Villainess Cannot Escape — Five Beast Husbands Chase Her Madly-Chapter 86: A Chaotic Scene, Big Cat and Night Abyss Get Jealous
"Damn it! Those two left without saying a word to me."
Su An’an gritted her teeth in anger. "That Frozen Fish and that stinky fox have gone too far! Even regular friends would say goodbye before leaving!"
Seeing her furious expression, Night Abyss handed her a freshly squeezed Star Orange Juice and soothed her in a gentle voice.
"Lan Cangming left because he received an urgent military report, and Fei Zhao must have had something pressing as well. Calm down for now. Have a drink to quench your thirst."
Ying Jiuyao suddenly sneered, the tips of his ears twitching with impatience.
’When Fei Zhao and Lan Cangming were getting ready to leave, he’d wanted to remind the two of them to say goodbye to Su An’an, but Night Abyss stopped him.’
’That shadowy Poison Dragon had said with a straight face not to disturb Su An’an’s meeting with the Queen, and that he would pass on the message.’
’And now here he was, acting all impartial, when he clearly just didn’t want Fei Zhao and Lan Cangming to have any more contact with Su An’an.’
Night Abyss noticed Ying Jiuyao’s subtle reaction and arched an eyebrow, his expression remaining perfectly calm.
’He didn’t think he was in the wrong.’
’If Fei Zhao and Lan Cangming truly cared about Su An’an, they would have stayed and waited for her.’
’The fact that they fell for my little scheme only proves they aren’t sincere enough.’
’I won’t let any disingenuous males hang around Su An’an.’
"Your Highness, after Her Majesty the Queen intervened, all the negative public opinion on the Star Network targeting Jiu Su has been suppressed."
"We don’t need that stinky fox anymore, so let’s just ignore him," Little Pink added angrily.
’I’m still worried about him.’
Su An’an frowned.
An image of Fei Zhao using his Charm Ability to help her against Nieruo surfaced in her mind.
She bit her lower lip and typed into the message box:
"How are you? Do you have a moment to talk?"
Before hitting send, she added one more line:
"I’m really worried about you!"
「The Mermaid Battleship cruised through the depths of space.」
Outside the porthole, the void was black as ink, with only a few desolate stars twinkling in the distance.
Fei Zhao leaned against a wall, pressing his knuckles to his lips to muffle a cough as a sharp, dull ache radiated from his chest.
It felt like there was a hole in his heart; every breath sent a searing pain through him.
Suddenly, his communicator screen lit up, and a message from Su An’an popped up.
Fei Zhao’s red pupils constricted. It was like a downpour of sweet rain on a parched desert; even the excruciating pain wracking his body instantly subsided.
He lowered his gaze to the screen, the corners of his lips curving up uncontrollably. The tenderness that bloomed in his eyes was soft enough to drown in.
"So, you do worry about me after all."
He repeated the words over and over, his voice laced with a joy he hadn’t even realized was there.
He carefully took a screenshot of the conversation, saving it as if it were the most precious treasure in the world.
But in the next moment, the chill returned to his eyes.
’I can’t drag her down. The Empress of the Empire doesn’t need a useless Beast Husband.’
A hoarse whisper escaped him, punctuated by a cough.
Swallowing the tightness in his chest, Fei Zhao forced himself to type out a cold reply. "Spare me your fake sympathy. Sign the divorce papers as soon as possible."
Staring at the "Message Sent" notification, he murmured to himself,
"Don’t worry about me... Just forget me."
He opened Su An’an’s profile picture one last time.
He looked longingly at her sweet smile.
The moment he confirmed the block, it felt as though he had personally snuffed out the last ember in his heart. A wave of bitter anguish washed over him.
He whipped his head away to face the boundless darkness outside the porthole, brutally swallowing down all his emotions.
"We’ll reach the Canglan Sea Area after the next jump point. Are you coming with me?"
Lan Cangming approached, the scent of sea salt wafting from his long, ice-blue hair and filling the cabin.
"No, I’m leaving."
Fei Zhao deftly put away his communicator. The vulnerability of a moment ago vanished, replaced by his usual lazy, bewitching demeanor.
He draped a dark red robe over his shoulders. As he turned, he looked like a solitary, broken-winged bird, still stubbornly soaring.
Lan Cangming frowned at Fei Zhao’s pale face, about to ask if he was unwell.
Fei Zhao suddenly stopped. "Protect Su An’an."
His voice was faint, as if drifting from a great distance.
It was tinged with a longing and obsession that bordered on despair.
"What do you mean?"
Lan Cangming frowned, looking at the ever-cunning fox before him.
’What’s with his tone? Is he entrusting her to me like a deathbed wish?’
"Protect her, so she doesn’t end up dragging me down."
Fei Zhao let out a deliberate sneer, his tone dripping with disdain.
But his fingertips, clutching the communicator, had turned white from the pressure.
Su An’an’s words, "I’m really worried about you!" echoed endlessly in his mind.
The bitter anguish almost choked him.
He could only grit his back teeth, crushing all his tenderness into thorns.
"It won’t happen again."
Lan Cangming recalled the danger Su An’an had faced, and a murderous aura surged around him.
He secretly swore an oath.
When he returned, he would dispatch troops to wipe out the Rebel Army. He would never let them harm Su An’an.
"Good."
With those words, Fei Zhao’s proud, solitary figure slowly vanished into the shadows.
A roar echoed as the aircraft piloted by Fei Zhao shot away like a bolt of dark red lightning.
It pierced the inky blackness of space, heading for the chaotic, lawless region of Black Star.
「Aboard the Imperial Royal Battleship.」
Su An’an stared fixedly at her communicator screen.
Fei Zhao’s cold reply was like a sledgehammer, shattering her concern to pieces.
"Fake sympathy? Divorce papers?"
She trembled with rage, nearly smashing her communicator on the ground.
"That damn fox doesn’t know what’s good for him! He’s asking for a beating!"
"Your Highness, don’t waste your anger on that ungrateful, stinky fox!"
Even Little Pink’s mechanical voice trembled with anger.
"He doesn’t appreciate your kindness at all!"
"If I ever deal with him again, I’m a dog!"
Su An’an furiously slammed the communicator down on the table.
She spun around, her back to the table. Her chest heaved, and for some reason, her eyes began to burn.
’He was the one who left without a word. He was the one who said such hurtful things. So why do I feel so awful?’
"If that fox doesn’t want to be with you, then just grant him his wish!"
Ying Jiuyao’s sharp eyes caught a glimpse of the conversation on the screen, and his ears drooped in discontent.
’Fei Zhao is usually so shrewd and suave. How does he turn into such a blockhead whenever he’s around Su An’an?’
’Saying things like that is just pushing her away with his own two hands.’
"A divorce! I’ll divorce him the second I get back!" Su An’an said, clenching her fists and gritting her teeth.
’So what if I’m short one stinky fox? I still have four other Beast Husbands. It’s not like I’ll be lonely.’
But the thought did nothing to ease the tightness in her chest; instead, she only grew more agitated.
"Don’t be angry."
Night Abyss thoughtfully offered her a glass of freshly squeezed Star Orange Juice with ice.
Crystal-clear ice cubes floated in the orange liquid, refracting tiny shards of light.
But the tempting sight did nothing to stir her appetite.
"Anan, have some bread."
Ying Jiuyao spotted some white bread on the table and immediately scurried over to offer it to her, the fluffy loaf trembling slightly in his palm.
"Anan likes it with butter."
Night Abyss’s gaze swept over the white bread. His tone was flat. "That has no nutritional value."
Ying Jiuyao’s fur instantly bristled. He narrowed his Gilded Beast Eyes and bared his fangs at Night Abyss.
"I’ll go put butter on it right now!"
"No, I don’t want to eat anything."
Su An’an irritably pushed aside the juice and bread.
Ying Jiuyao dejectedly put the bread down, but his fluffy tail crept around her waist like a Big Cat seeking comfort.
He lowered his ears, his Gilded Beast Eyes welling with unshed tears. "I have to leave soon, too. I even postponed a military meeting just to wait for you, and now you’re being mean to me because of that fox."
