The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 161: Murder...?
Abigail’s entire body froze upon hearing those words. She turned to look at the guard who had just arrived and her eyes widened. Her lips parted and closed again and again as if she was trying to process what was being said, but she still couldn’t understand.
Murder?
Whose?
There was only one person who was left behind...
No...
This can’t happen... It couldn’t be....
All of a sudden, her entire surroundings went numb as she stood there. Susan was similarly shocked, but not to the point of being numb and frozen. She quickly returned to her senses, but her face remained pale as she grabbed Abigail’s hand and said, "Olivia, you stay here. I’ll-"
"No." Abigail felt herself trembling as she said, "I’m going with you."
Susan perhaps had already figured out in her head about who was the original killer. Thus, for the sake of Olivia’s sanity, she preferred the girl stay behind. But she also couldn’t waste more time on this anymore.
Thus, she finally relented and said, "Okay, stay behind me."
The two of them hurried over to the building with the guard walking ahead of them. They instantly went over.
Throughout the way, Abigail’s legs were trembling and felt wobbly the entire time, but she still gritted her teeth and walked. She could feel tears rolling down her cheeks as she wiped them with her trembling hands and walked onward.
Unfortunately, as she walked holding the wall beside her, she accidentally fell to the ground with a thump. Susan, who was walking ahead, stopped and returned to her.
"Be careful." The two girls hurried over as both of their faces remained pale.
By this time, everyone assembled at the club found out something big had happened. So they also gathered and started returning to the building.
Once they reached the corridor where the shooting was being taken, Susan looked at the guard. "Where is the body...?"
There was a trace of tremor in her voice as she swallowed, trying her best to calm herself down.
The guard wiped the layer of sweat forming on his forehead with the back of his hand and said, "In miss Olivia’s make-up room."
Up until this time, Abigail still had hope against hope that it wouldn’t be Asher. It shouldn’t be. After all, she just promised him something, didn’t she? How could he just die?
There might be other staff members who were perhaps left behind. Even though her intuition screamed Asher’s name as dead, she still couldn’t believe it. But when the guard spoke those words, her face paled even more.
Tremblingly, she asked, "You.... What did you just say....?"
Susan was also shocked because she also knew who was sitting in the make-up room at that time. Her entire body froze and there was only one thought in her head.
Her movie is over.
The two of them hurried over as the rest of the people also gathered. It was Owen who noticed Abigail’s condition first. Of course, because she was wearing a facemask, no one could see her face was pale. Thanks to those tears that rolled down her cheeks, it was clear that she was affected.
Something terrible had happened.
Owen looked around to find the man who had stayed beside Abigail since the morning and frowned.
It couldn’t be something that happened to him, right?
He looked at Abigail worriedly. Instantly, he pulled out his phone and hesitated before putting it back in his pocket.
Even though he was worried, he wouldn’t walk ahead and do something he shouldn’t. After all, if he stepped forward, how could he explain how he knew Olivia?
Uh.... Maybe he could tell them that she was his patient.
Well, thinking of this, he walked forward and held Abigail’s trembling shoulders well. He turned to his cousin, who still looked a bit pale. "Susan, I’ll handle her."
Susan finally turned toward her cousin only to find him holding Olivia’s shoulders. Her eyes widened in surprise as she asked, "You..."
She wanted to ask why he knew her so well. But before she could, he answered, "I’m her doctor. Let me handle her."
Thus, Susan’s tense shoulders relaxed a bit, but when she thought of the murder scene she was about to witness, her shoulders became tense once again. She wiped the layer of sweat that had formed on her forehead and said, "Alright. You know her better than me."
On the other side, Abigail also seemed stunned seeing Owen holding her shoulders. Even though she didn’t want to, she leaned into him as she trembled.
Of course, Abigail wasn’t that much affected. After all, it wasn’t Nicholas. In her heart, the man’s place was more prominent than others. Thus, she shouldn’t have trembled and cried so much to the point of fainting. But it was because she had bipolar that she couldn’t control her emotions well.
Owen knew this well. Thus, he walked forward and whispered to her, "Abigail, let’s go. I’m here with you. don’t worry."
Abigail nodded. Her lips parted, but she couldn’t speak out a single word. More tears rolled down her cheeks.
Owen didn’t speak anything else and took her forward.
The two of them continued onward and finally reached the place. The door remained closed, but Abigail could feel her heart sinking the moment her eyes laid on it. She wiped her face and took a deep breath before reaching out to the doorknob tremblingly.
Owen wanted to stop her from touching the door but then he paused.
Since the guard had already opened the door, there was no point in preventing her from touching the knob. Even if the fingerprints were to be taken from this doorknob, they would probably take the wrong person in.
Thus, Owen stopped thinking about it and helped her push open the door. As soon as the door was pushed, a scene unfolded in front of him.
The yellowish dim light fell on the top of a dead body lying on the ground. But the eyes of that person stared at the door as he looked sad, and depressed, and at the same time, he yearned for something. Dried tears had already made their mark on his cheeks as he lay there in the pool of blood.
Abigail screamed and ran forward. "Asher!"
