The Villain's Apocalypse-Chapter 19: Sandy Terrain
Chapter 19: Sandy Terrain
Chapter 19: Sandy Terrain
krink
woosh
The golem lifted its fist high and swiftly hurled it toward Cassian, without warning. The ground trembled under its peerless might—bursts of powerful wind generated beneath its strike, scattering the sand around it.
Despite being so massive, its attack was surprisingly quick.
Cassian, sensing the incoming attack, didn't linger on his thoughts any further and swiftly utilized [Lightning Dash]. Thunder sparks clawed out from beneath his feet, spreading in all directions. A chilly violet aura surrounded his boots and rapidly covered them alongside it.
flash
He vanished from his initial position and appeared a few meters away from the golem's back. His body was slightly arched back and his right hand was touching the ground, assisting him in balancing his body from sudden movement.
He had executed the skill with maximum output causing him to almost teleport away.
"Damn, this is powerful!" He smiled, gazing at the golem's back. His eyes narrowed down upon noticing the attack's destructivity.
bam
The fist finally landed on the ground with an explosive sound, causing the sand and rocks beneath it to shuffle away. Some pitiful sandworms and lizards were squashed to death under the fist's might.
The golem unbothered by its failure, slowly retracted its fist and straightened its back. Twisting its head behind, its abyss-like eyes fell on Cassian's body.
"A returning gift to you." Muttering those words, Cassian lifted his hand and clenched it into a fist.
"Solar Judgement!" He whispered, causing the ground to shake lightly. From beneath the ground, a blinding light descended upon the golem, illuminating the surrounding area.
A ray of explosion followed up from underneath, targetting the golem precisely on its rocky feet. The explosions weren't as loud due to them being muffled beneath the sand but their destructiveness was unquestionable.
Cassian stared at the site with a solemn look on his face. This wasn't his own skill but rather an artifact's ability, that he'd currently utilized.
The artifact was called [Solar Pendant] and was currently lying inside Cassian's fist. He had cunningly swapped out his artifact from his ring and used it immediately.
swish
The pendant between his fist disappeared and a long, silvery blade appeared in its place. The blade was beautiful with a small sun logo etched on its hilt and intricate carvings flowing through its sharp body. The sword's tip held a tiny white gem, the size of an ant, etched perfectly on its pointy tip.
Positioning it forward, he gripped it tightly and pointed it toward the golem.
The dust had settled down, revealing the golem's tattered body inside. Fine cracks had appeared on its lower half signifying the damage it had received from that single attack.
"Only cracks? The books were right it seems. Golems truly have immense defensive capability." Cassian felt a sense of reluctance, gazing at those cracks.
Don't underestimate the previous attack, Solar Judgement was an extremely powerful attack from his current self. It could insta-kill a terror rank if timed right, though it also had a glaring weakness. The attack took a longer time to charge and it was an Area-of-effect (AOE) ground attack, so, it was completely useless for aerial mobs. Thankfully, golems have slow speeds and reactions making them the perfect target.
The golem's eyes flashed menacingly and a weird phenomenon took place. The murals wrapped around its body twisted uncontrollably like a coiling snake, causing a dense earthy aura to leak out from the golem's body. The cracks on his lower half shone lightly with brown light–dust and rocks alike floated above the cracked parts and swiftly merged themselves inside the golem's body, healing the cracked part.

"This bastard can heal!!" Cassian was shocked at the sight, his mind immediately went on an overdrive and thought of the potential repercussions, urging him to finish the fight quickly or escape.
He trusted his senses and immediately hurled a powerful attack through his sword.
[Solar Sword Art - First form]
[Dawn's Radiance]
woosh
Instantly, his mana was sucked dry from his starseed, the violent devouring of mana caused him to cough a mouthful of blood. He took out a mana-replenishing potion and gulped it down, easing the pressure on his starseed.
[A.N: Mana-recovery potion = Mana-replenishing potion]
Wiping the blood off his mouth, he swiftly appeared behind the golem's back using [Lightning Dash].
The golem sensing the sudden movement of mana behind him, twisted its arms and launched a powerful fist attack. Its fist was swirling with a dense brown aura–emitting a nauseous earthy smell.
Holding the sword high up, Cassian leaped up and executed an elegant sword strike straight on the golem's head.
He had inferred after the previous exchange that the golem's core was probably hidden inside its head. The golem had a single weakness from what he'd read, the weakness was its core. Once its core was destroyed, it was basically a death sentence to it.
However, finding the core's exact spot was tougher than it looked. Every golem had different hiding spots–some hid it inside their chest, arms, and feet while in this case, it probably hid its core inside its head.
A glowing golden light shone around Cassian's body and enveloped his sword completely with it.
"HAAA!!"
With a loud roar, He slammed his sword onto the golem's head, piercing it completely with his golden aura.
"Did it wor–heuk!"
A bone-crushing force landed on Cassian's left chest, causing his breath to halt momentarily. His eyes rolled up from the immense pain coursing through his body. The golem's fist landed straight at his guts sending him crashing down on a small boulder a few meters away from it.
The boulder was completely destroyed by the terrifying force and Cassian's body lay flat on the ground, surrounded by various pieces of smashed rock.
urghhh
cough
cough
A painful groan escaped his lips as his consciousness returned– violent coughs reverberated through his throat, followed by a handful of blood leaking out. He struggled to lift his body, sensing the destruction internally. His ribs were broken, the left side of his chest caved in, left arm completely destroyed and his lungs were punctured by the rib's broken pieces. Even breathing felt difficult as every exhale took a lot of energy.
Using the debris of rocks as a support, he slowly stood up and gazed at the golem. The golem's condition wasn't better either, its head was completely smashed, and the core was visible to its naked eye as it floated above its throat.
He had made a mistake in his calculation, thinking the core was inside his head but, all along it was hiding between the throat.
"No wonder this bastard had a throat in the first place." He thought, feeling helpless at his poor decision.
The golem undeterred by the damage, approached Casian's body.
Lifting its massive arms, it intended to finish the job by crushing him underneath the ground.
The fist descended on Cassian's broken body with immense pressure. It felt like the grim reaper's scythe was hanging on his throat. If it landed, then it was over for him.
He however shook his head and chuckled lightly.
"You didn't seriously think it was over, right?"
