276 Resting Period <2>

“Fine.” Dylan didn’t mind.

Dina nodded and send the messages to her parents, who were already retreating their forces. She clicked her tongue and looked at her younger brother, feeling a bit apprehensive.

Perhaps, her younger brother didn’t know that his presence was actually the most important in Ice Blue Group. Should anything happen to him, their parents would not hesitate to burn their resources to seek revenge and ask for explanation.

But that was fine.

This is her cute younger brother and she will just follow his whim.

“I’ll go back now. Joshua is waiting for me.”

Dylan looked at his older sister and narrowed his eyes. “Rest more.”

Dina snorted. “Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Dylan nodded and finished his juice before heading towards his room. Now that he had decided to stay in City E for the time being, it was time for him to finish some of his projects that he had tossed to the side because of the changes in the world.

<Lotte’s House>

Lotte returned home safely and her parents were happy when they saw her going back in one piece.

“The news is so outrageous! I was afraid that something happened to you.” Lotte’s Mother looked at her daughter up and down a few times before she was satisfied. At the very least, she felt that it was good that her daughter was still one piece and could return safely.

“Don’t worry, Black Group is very strong.” Lotte smiled.

“Hmph! I still can’t find that Jake brat reliable.” Lotte’s Father snorted when he heard his daughter’s words.

The one who convinced Lotte to join the black group was naturally Jake. Because the two had been dating for a long time, the two parents were close to each other too. They naturally knew Jake’s personality.

Having to hand his daughter to Jake… Lotte’s Father felt extreme unwillingness.

Even after so many years, he still felt that way.

Lotte laughed lightly. “Don’t worry, Dad. Jake is not that bad.”

Lotte’s Father only snorted.

Seeing her father, Lotte only smiled and said nothing more. She knew no matter how many times she explained it, her father would never show that he accepted Jake on the surface. Though, he never actually prevented her to be together with Jake after so many years.

He only felt dissatisfied because he felt that Jake was unreliable.

“Do you also get affected by the Black Group’s matter, Dad, Mom?” Lotte was worried about another thing.

“Don’t worry. We’re fine.” Lotte’s mother chuckled. “We’re living in the safest area in City E and General Ryan is arranging for the military to do their rounds nearby. That way, we’re fine.”

“That’s good.” Lotte sighed in relief.

Ring! Ring!

“Yes?” Lotte’s Mother picked up the phone. She just wanted to say a few words when she heard the words from the other side. Her expression froze.

After replying blankly, she turned the phone off and looked at her daughter.

“Mom?” Lotte had a bad feeling when she saw her mother’s expression.

“You’re going to get married with Jake?”

“Ah?” Lotte was stunned and guessed that the phone should be from Jake’s mother. Her face reddened. “I agreed to his proposal.”

“What? That brat gave proposal? Why didn’t I know that?” Lotte’s Father was stunned. “You better tell me everything or I will go to that brat’s house and break his leg!”

Lotte looked at her father and silently prayed for Jake.

Hopefully, he wouldn’t get his legs broken by her father in the end.

<Lucy’s side>

Lucy’s parents were absolutely not worried about their daughter. Seeing how their own daughter could even lift a car weighed several tons… they had long had the feeling that their daughter was not ordinary.

Thus, they were not surprised that their daughter went home well.

Lucy looked at her parents and after a lunch with them, she walked out of the house again. Rather than staying indoors, she liked roaming around and played around more.

<Marc’s Side>

The only one without any family members was Marc.

His parents had died when he was young, which was the reason why he was put into orphanage. Because it happened when he was young, he no longer remembered the exact details anymore by now.

Ding!

Walking out of the supermarket, Marc ripped the plastic bags of the bread he had just bought and split the bread into two.

“Half for you.”

“Wang! Wang! Wang!” <Why do you not buy more food! This little bit is definitely enough!>

Robby complained, but he still obediently ate the bread that Marc gave to him. Even if it was not enough to make him full, but it was still food nevertheless.

Marc rolled his eyes. “Just make do with this for now. I’ll search for another cheap restaurant.”

“Wang! Wang! Wang!” <You’re so stingy, Master! I want more food!>

“I don’t have much money because you keep on eating.” Marc glared at Robby.

Robby wanted to argue, but seeing Marc’s gaze, he could only lower his head and whined weakly. Alright, he admitted that he had eaten a lot, okay?

*whine*

Marc sighed and patted Robby’s head. He was not that poor, but he didn’t want to spend so much money on food. After all, there were still some things that he also wanted to buy in City E.

As he walked with Robby, he noticed Lucy walking from the opposite direction.

“Hey Lucy!”

“Oh, you’re here Marc.” Lucy nodded at Marc and then smiled brightly at Robby. “Robby! Are you hungry?”

“Wang! Wang! Wang!” <Yes, I’m very hungry! I want to eat food!>

Robby excitedly welcome Lucy even better than when he was welcoming his owner.

Marc looked at Robby and really wanted to pull the dog’s ear to ask just who is his owner.

“Let’s eat together? There are several new restaurants opened now.” Marc ignored the heartless dog and looked at Lucy.

Lucy was petting Robby and nodded in agreement. “Sure. I have seen one that sell hotpot and looked delicious.”

“Hotpot in this weather?”

“Why not? Just once in a while.”

“Do you want hotpot, Robby?”

“Wang!” <Yes, yes!>

“Alright, let’s go.”
