Chapter 273 – She wanted money and love (2)

Song Tingshen placed the post-it on a photo frame. “Looking at this when I want to slack off will deter me from being lazy.”

As long as he was reminded that his wife had such a big appetite for material goods, how could he dare to relax. He could only bury his head in work and do his best to earn money.

Pleased with herself, Ruan Xia smiled and asked, “Your meeting is over?”

“En.” Song Tingshen nodded. “It’s still early. I’ll take you to see a movie and relax for a bit.”

Ruan Xia glanced at the time on the bottom right corner of the monitor and was somewhat hesitant. “It’s already 8PM. By the time we finish watching the movie, won’t it be 10 or 11 PM? Ai, Little Wang will be left to go to bed by himself.”

There was no nightlife to speak of after becoming a mom. It would be too extravagant to stay out to watch a movie until late in the evening.

“It really is time for him to sleep alone.” Song Tingshen had a serious expression. “He’ll turn five next year. How will he learn to be independent if he keeps sleeping with his mom?”

“But…” Ruan Xia still wasn’t at ease.

Song Tingshen sighed. “It’s not good for a mother to be too doting. It’ll lead to a spoiled child.”

“It’s just sleeping together. Does it really rise to such a serious level?”

Song Tingshen nodded. “It will be if we don’t go to the movies.”

Their current lifestyle was very simple. There was no time to develop the romance in their relationship. On weekdays, they didn’t even have a moment alone when he got off from work. Once the weekend finally came, the chubby kid didn’t have school. They couldn’t just leave him at home while they went out on a date.

In the end, Ruan Xia went to the movies with Song Tingshen. It was a weeknight and almost 9PM, so there weren’t many people in the theater. For two people in a relationship, it didn’t matter what movie they were watching or if the movie was good or not. The key point was that the movie theater was dark, and he could hold her hand for a very long time.

It was almost midnight by the time they got back home. Ruan Xia yawned and was about to go to her room to sleep. To her surprise, before she reached the door of her bedroom, Song Tingshen grabbed her hand to stop her.

She turned to look at him. “Huh?”

Song Tingshen meaningfully said, “I’m thinking, won’t you wake up Little Wang if you go in like that?”

Ruan Xia blushed. They were both adults with desires. She understood the implied meaning of his words. She did her best to calm down. She shook her head and replied, “Not even a thunderstorm can wake up your son. Don’t worry.”

Song Tingshen felt rather regretful. Although he had said those words and had those thoughts, he didn’t and wouldn’t want to push Ruan Xia. It was true that they were husband and wife in name, but they hadn’t started working on their relationship until only a few months ago. It really would be moving too fast if they were to take that step now. He should have at least waited for the year to be over before brazenly bringing up the issue of sleeping together. For the time being, it would be better to give each other more time to get used to each other as well as opportunities to cultivate their feelings.

Ruan Xia simply walked up to him and stood on tiptoes. She mimicked his usual demeanor towards Little Wang by patting his head and said in a coaxing tone, “Alright, it’s late. Go to sleep. You still have to wake up early to earn money tomorrow.”

Song Tingshen solemnly nodded. “You’re right. After all, my wife likes big diamonds and big houses.”

Annoyed from being embarrassed, Ruan Xia curled her hand into a small fist and lightly punched him. “Don’t talk as if I’m a rice weevil.”
