The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 245 - 242
Nia walked into the room but she saw that Princess Eleanor was not alone.
Nia bowed her head in getting as she looked at Princess Eleanor and the High Priest and chief healer sitting beside her.
"Nia, come here." Princess Eleanor called to her in a soft tone. Her eyes were shining with many emotions, "I really missed you. How are you feeling now?"
Hearing Princess Eleanor’s voice, Nia’s eyes teared up. She knew that Princess Eleanor was now feeling better, but the fear of losing her was still lingering in her heart. Although Nia had tried her best to stop the news of Princess Eleanor’s attack from spreading into Prince Arlo’s ears, she herself was suffering. She felt helpless.
With tears falling down her cheeks, Nia took shaky steps toward the Princess. As soon as she reached Princess Eleanor’s side, Nia was confused as she bit her lips, "Princess..."
Princess Eleanor ran her hand over Nia’s cheeks as she rubbed the tears away and said with a fond smile. "Can I get some alone time with my lady-in-waiting? As you can see, she is still in shock."
Priest Erasmus looked at Princess Eleanor as he sighed. He did not want to let her be alone, but he knew that if he did not allow this then maybe Princess Eleanor would not be happy. "We will be right outside. Just call if you need anything."
The Chief Healer followed Priest Erasmus before he looked one last time at Princess Eleanor. As soon as the High Priest came out, he was called by Crown Prince Richard, as Princess Eleanor took a deep breath and continued her talk with Nia.
"I am all right, Nia." Princess Eleanor said in a small voice, "I know you are worried about me but don’t worry. Nothing has happened."
"We should not have trusted Kelly. We should have taken action once we knew that they had ill intentions on us." Nia was blaming herself as she swallowed hard from time to time. Although she never thought of Kelly as her friend, they still had a good bond. This situation proved that maybe in life, not all the people you meet and feel good about are actually your friend. Not all can think positively about you. Some do harbour evil intent in their hearts.
"I am fine and she has been punished." Princess Eleanor said with a soft smile on her face, "So don’t worry too much over things that have happened. Instead, you should focus, Nia. We have things to do."
Nia’s concentration increased as her body became attentive. It could be clearly seen that Nia was attentive to Princess Eleanor as she waited for the command to come in.

Priest Erasmus smiled as he sat on the chair. He could see the uneasiness in the Crown Prince’s eyes.
"The Prince called me here?" Priest Erasmus asked. There was a hint of sarcasm in his eyes. The man feared no one, not even the royal family as he knew the impact his words had on people. He was even more powerful than the Royal family and he loved to wield the power that was in his hands.
"You already knew it all and yet you were playing with me." Crown Prince Richard’s eyes narrowed as he looked straight into the High Priest’s eyes, "You pretended to be with me, and yet you were always on the Grand Duke’s side. You had intended to betray me!" Crown Prince Richard accused in a hiss.
The hate was evident in the Crown Prince’s voice as his fist clenched tightly at his sides. He was ready to attack and hit something hard and yet he could not do it. "You betrayed me!"
"I betrayed you?" Priest Erasmus leaned back as his eyes narrowed. His body was full of ease as if he was enjoying the situation to the fullest. "Is Crown Prince Richard sure that I betrayed you? If you ask me, it is the Royal Family that betrayed me first. What I did was just returning it to the Royal family."
Crown Prince Richard was confused. He could not understand what was going on in the High Priest’s mind. It was evident that something was hidden deep in his soul. "I thought the Temple was always on good terms with the Royal Family. Didn’t the High Priest before you told you not to mess with us?"
"They did tell me that. But I did it anyway." High Priest Erasmus got up as if he had heard enough and there was nothing more to listen to. "What the other High Priest did has nothing to do with me. All I care about is that the Temple follows my orders and I do whatever I want. If you have any objections, come to me directly. But I cannot guarantee if I will help you or not."
With those words, High Priest Erasmus left the room. He did not even look back, making Prince Richard sit there in confusion. He had never seen such a side of the man. They were always fighting against the Grand Duke together. He did not like the man just like him. When did Prist Erasmus have such a good impression of Grand Duke Christopher?
’But why did I think I saw the reflection of my father in him?’ Crown Prince Richard thought but soon he shook his head as he pushed the thought away, ’Maybe their aura is the same. I cannot let this slide.’
"Colt!" Crown Prince Richard called out in a loud voice and soon Commander Colt bowed down in front of him. Crown Prince Richard wanted to become the next Emperor and he knew that he had to make it happen even if he had to push everyone out of his way, "Do you think Priest Erasmus has turned against us?"
Commander Colt nodded his head, replying, "Yes, Your Highness." His tone did not have any emotions as if he was a puppet who was just saying what its master wanted to hear.
"Ask Marquess Gio to meet me." Crown Prince Richard said, "I have a task for him. Let the High Priest and Temple suffer for betraying me."
Commander Colt nodded his head as he turned around and went to do what was assigned to him. It was evident that the Crown Prince was trying to push all the people away from him who had betrayed him at some point.
—----
"I did not know Doctor Raul was here too." Chief Healer said as he looked at the flowers in his hand. "And with flowers?"
Doctor Raul’s face did not show any emotions as he looked at the closed door, "Well, this is not mine. Princess Eleanor’s lady-in-waiting was supposed to give this to the Princess. But she was so worried that she forgot to take it and ran straight for the door."
Chief Healer nodded his head. His eyes were also fixed on the closed door. It has been quite some time since the door was closed.
But as soon as the thought flashed through his mind, he saw the door opening as Princess Eleanor’s lady-in-waiting walked out. "Princess Eleanor is calling for you."
Nia took the flowers in her hand as she smiled. "I forgot about these." She walked back inside Princess Eleanor’s room naturally as she placed the flowers in the vase near the window.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes sharpened as her lips curled up. The Knightspur’s were blooming beautifully as Nia was arranging them with gloves on. Soon Princess Eleanor turned around as she saw Doctor Raul removing some medicinal bottles from his bag.
"These are the medicines that Princess Eleanor has to drink. This will help your body to recover faster." Doctor Raul said, but soon the bottle was taken away by the Chief Healer. "And how are we supposed to know if it is effective?’
"Why don’t the Chief Healer test it then?" Doctor Raul nodded his eyes, "Will you like to drink and confirm it for yourself?"
Chief Healer’s lips twitched as he took a deep breath. "No need, I can trust Doctor Raul."
Doctor Raul shook his head as he took the bottle and placed it on the table near the bed. His eyes looked at Princess Eleanor who wore the necklace that he had seen with Nia in the morning.
’So Nia gave the necklace and the ring to Princess Eleanor?’ Doctor Raul thought as he subconsciously looked at Princess Eleanor’s hand and he saw the ring shining on her finger.
Doctor Raul took hold of Princess Eleanor’s wrist as he conducted his regular checkup. Soon he wrote down the abnormalities and took the relevant medicines from the bag.
"I could have done this as well." Chief Healer said under his breath as he looked at Princess Eleanor. She looked so calm with the man around her. It showed that she trusted Doctor Raul more than him.
"Princess, as the chosen one, the Temple will be responsible for you." The Chief Healer said in a confident tone.
"And yet you were unable to understand my condition." Princess Eleanor did not hold back as she looked at Chief Healer and continued, "I hope you can allow me the right to trust the people I want. I might be the chosen one determined by God, but I am a human with emotions too. Whom to trust and whom not to is my decision, is it not?"
The chief healer was speechless as he narrowed his eyes, "Thus Princess Eleanor does not trust me?"
"I do." Princess Eleanor said, "But just not with my health. I trust Doctor Raul more. I hope the people in the temple can understand my stand on this."
