The Werewolf King's Bride-Chapter 548: Visiting The Festival
(From Blue’s Perspective)
We went to a local restaurant where the chairs and tables looked like they were from the house of a peace-loving old woman. It gave a homely feeling. I liked it instantly.
It was warm inside. I wondered if there was a hidden fireplace somewhere.
We wore normal clothing. Dem had to wear a hooded cloak to hide his eyes, as black eyes were not normal. And besides, there could be someone who would recognize him not only because of the black color of his eyes but also because of the fact that he had one eye. Most people knew the King of Querencia lost an eye in the war.
We also got a small cap for Dion. He hated it. Whatever. We would just take it off after we got our seats.
We found ourselves a table of three. Dion was on my lap, trying to get rid of his cap. Since it looked like he hated it a little too much, I took it off for him.
"Your Highness, I am too hungry, so I want a lot of food," Perita said.
"We will get a lot of food anyway. We want to try almost everything here," I said.
A waitress came to take our order. She played peek-a-boo with Dion while we chose what we would have. Dion liked this game a lot and giggled adorably.
"People are looking at Dion," I said.
"Must be because he is cute and is giggling every time we open our mouths, or because he has black eyes," Dem said.
"Come now. People are born with black eyes," I said.
"Doesn’t mean it is not rare," he said as a matter of fact.
Our food arrived. We ordered too many foods. Because the food was too much, they got us a bigger table.
I started off with the seafood platter. The oysters were fresh, but they were never my thing. I liked the crab though. It was meaty and fresh. The prawns were good. When I was eating my lobster, Dion almost took an oyster from the table.
After that, Dem took Dion. He could handle his movements better.
"He is trying so hard to grab something," I chuckled.
"He is curious," Dem said.
"When can he have normal food?" Perita asked.
"Around six months," I replied.
"That said, I have noticed something. Why don’t babies drink water? I mean, don’t we all need water?"
"He gets enough nutrition from breast milk. His body has not finished developing kidneys. That’s why he and other babies cannot drink water until several months after they are born," I explained.
"So, when he is six months old, he can drink water too?" she asked.
"Yeah. That should be fine," I said. "Perita, be careful. You will get your uniform stained."
I ate a lot for lunch. I never ate this much. Perita was also satisfied. Dem liked the food but hated the alcoholic beverage. He said it was one of the worst drinks he had ever had.
"You cannot expect the best wine in a place like this," I said.
"It doesn’t have to be the best. It has to be at least okay, but it’s not. The taste was just bad," Dem grumbled.
"It’s not that bad. It’s the kind of drinks we had after the war when we went to celebrate," Perita said.
"I am pretty sure you were sent a few bottles of wine," I said.
"That wasn’t enough. We drink like crazy," she shrugged.
We did not return right away. I fed Dion a bit in a small candy shop. There was a type of festival going which Evan said was the celebration for the good crop this year. We walked around and got various items, like candies, toys for Dion and even a set of funny-looking goggles for Dem. Dem hated it. But I thought he looked cute.
I saw a familiar face. Dem also saw him as well as Perita. They were both very sharp. If I saw something just now, they had seen it a while ago.
"Well, guess what, the first prince of Ataraxia still wants to collect your painting," Dem said annoyedly.
"Is he watching us or something? Is he dumb?" I mumbled.
"He is dumb enough to think we cannot see him just because he is peeking from behind the curtain of a boutique," Perita said.
"Let’s pretend like we don’t see him. Let that poor guy have some satisfaction," I said.
The Prince of Ataraxia maybe wanted to watch only as he did not do anything else. We returned in the evening. I was tired, but happy too because we had fun.
"Did you walk the whole festival or something? You are as red as a cherry," Evan observed. He had come to see us after we returned.
"Of course. You cannot visit a festival in a carriage. It’s more fun to walk around," I said. "We ate a lot. Dem got a beautiful pair of goggles."
"I am never wearing that," Dem said sternly while giving Dion a bath in a small tub. "That shit is the most disgusting-looking goggles ever."
"He is saying that because there is a chipmunk on one side of it," I explained. "It’s not that bad. It’s cute I think."
"I got to admit I have never seen a King wearing a pair of chipmunk goggles before. It should be entertaining," Evan chuckled.
"That said, we have seen one of your guests in the festival."

"Who?"
"The first prince of Ataraxia. He was there, peeking at us from behind a curtain of a boutique," I said. "I have sent him a letter and told him it was adorable."
"Only him? No guards."
"Not one I have seen," I said.

"There were three guards. I saw two men and one woman," Dem said.
"Where?" I asked, astonished.
"They were here and there, keeping an eye on the Prince. All his knights are as dumb as him."
