The Werewolf King's Bride-Chapter 581: Something May Be Wrong
(From Blue’s Perspective)
"Mama…"
"Yes?"
"Mama…"
"Is this your favorite word now, Dion?" I chuckled and kissed him on the cheek.
Demian was awake and fortunately, not crying. I got used to carrying both of them at the same time. It was an important thing I had to manage to do as soon as possible because both of my kids were rather clingy.
"Dion, don’t touch your brother like that. He will get hurt. Honey, gently. Be gentle."
Demian giggled when Dion giggled out of nowhere. The sound of them was beautiful and very happy. They had no idea what happened last night.
Dion poked Demian’s dimple because he found it interesting.
"You find your little brother’s dimples cute?"
I heard the footsteps before the door creaked. He was very fast. When he opened the door, although he pretended to appear careless, I knew he had ran. If he was a normal man, not a werewolf, he would have gasped for breath by now. He ran as soon as he could to make sure the kids were safe. Safe from what?
More precisely, safe from who? Me?

"No, don’t make me angry. Don’t," I said. "They are my kids. I will never harm them. In fact, I would harm anyone who comes my way to protect them. They are my everything."
"I have not even said anything," he said, closing the door behind him.
"I know you. If you have to speak to convey all of your feelings, can I really call myself your spouse?"
"Blue, it’s no joke," he said. I could feel he was tensed as well, but he was determined. "Last night, you know what you have done. I am not bothered by that. It’s about what happened after. You… were not yourself.
You could not talk."
"Obviously, if my tongue is forked, I can’t talk," I shrugged.
He stared at me for a few seconds, and suddenly, he started laughing. "No, my dear wife. You are really…"
"Am I that funny?" I smirked.
"Amusing," he said, wiping his eye. "I thought it left you traumatized."
"So, that’s how you approach a traumatized woman? Seriously, Dem, that’s so wrong on many ways."
"I am never good with it."
He took a seat on a chair. "How are you feeling?"
"Better than I expected. Better than in the last few days. It’s scary how good I feel right now," I said. "Do you see my complexion? I also didn’t recognize myself."
"I must say you look healthier for some reason. You were pale even yesterday," he said, observing me. He was looking at me so intently that I blushed. I never could get used to his gaze. "You must be rather healthy now if you got time to blush."
"Anyway, let’s be serious, Dem, about last night."
It took him a moment to change his expression from playful to serious. "Yes, we need to talk about it. And possibly do something about it."
"Do what? I don’t see anything that can be done."
"They were after the kids."
"No, not kids. Just one," I clarified. "They were after Demian."
"Only Demian?"
"Yes. Demian, only. Not Dion."
"How are you so sure?"
"I know," I said. I did not know how. But I knew it. It was like a sense, but I was very sure about it. "Can you tell me what happened? Because my point of view is rather one sided and hazy.
I don’t know much. I just did what… my instinct told me to."
"Last night’s sleep was one of the best I had in a while. Demian wasn’t crying and you could sleep too. I also could sleep rather well because of it all. Then, after a while, there was a noise. Well, not much of a noise. I just felt something.
One of my werewolf senses, I thought. Then, you were up and you attacked. I grabbed my sword and did all I could. But you, my dear, were rather… surprisingly more than impressive. Honestly, I never thought… You were like… uh…"
"Tell me clearly. I won’t get mad or something."
"Kind of like a monkey, I don’t know. Climbing the bodies of those dark mages and attacking… It felt like that," he muttered, a little hesitantly. He was glancing at me every now and then, as if he feared I would get angry. "You bit the head off…"
"Ah, I remember that…"
None of us said anything for a while. The occasional sound Dion made for no reason broke the silence.
"I am not upset about it. That’s what scares me. I feel nothing," I said. "And I remember… Dem, I drank blood."

"Are you sure you are not mistaking anything…"
"No, I know I am not mistaken. I am right. I did it. And you are just lying to make me feel better," I said. "You don’t have to. I know you know it too.
You saw me."
He remained silent. Suddenly something occurred to me. I placed Demian and Dion in two cribs that had been in my office. I had never been more grateful.
I went over to them and started to take his coat off, or at least take a look.
"Blue, stop it. Seriously!"
"Don’t make it sound like I am forcing myself on you. I just want to see something."
Then, I saw what I was looking for. Just two small marks on his shoulder. The marks had red area around them.
"I bit you and I… Gosh…"
"Blue, you just bit me, and that’s it. You know, when we make love, we make mark on each other."
"Yes, but this mark… Dem, this is like a snake bit you. A snake did bit you, actually. Did it hurt?"
"Not really. If you think only that will hurt me…"
"Does it hurt now?"
"No, Blue, it doesn’t."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, I am. Blue, this doesn’t matter much," he said, fixing his clothes. "What matters is why it was Demian. He is so little. Why him only and not Dion?"
He was right. It was a much more pressing matter than anything else. Why Demian? But I kind of knew why.
"Dem, you know that my kids and I have some kind of connection?"
"Of course. You are their mother."
"No, not just normal mother-children connection. It’s more than that. There is something deeper," I said, shaking my head. "My kids are a part of me and my power. They have gotten their power from me and I have power over them. It is the same with Azure.
Azure… although I try not to admit it, has some kind of power over me that I may not ever be able to… Anyway, what I mean is, because of the similar kind of power, I feel them more than any mother feels their child. Sometimes I can even feel what they are feeling and I know what’s in them. When Dion was born, I did not feel this restless. Something about Demian… Demian’s power is just not normal."
"Something is very much different and possibly… wrong," I added.
